A growing percentage of Filipinos now view foreigners as LBH

10yrs ago I never seen anything like this. Now I hear it EVERYWHERE . For those unaware LBH means LOSER BACK HOME. Why is this becoming a thing now in the Philippines? In my opinion it’s because over the past decade it has been TONS MORE FOREIGNERS coming to live in the Philippines and it’s mostly due to one factor. Before, what most foreigners would do is get a Filipina and then take her back to America or the West. Most never considered living in the Philippines. Then the word got put out on the internet that bringing a Filipina back to the West was a bad idea because she ultimately divorce you and then be with more desirable men in the West which was the experience of tons of Westerners. So the new idea now became to just come to the Philippines, find you Filipina, and stay in the Philippines away from the West that way you never have to worry about her leaving you for more desirable foreigners in your home country.

So this is the playbook the last decade of so and it’s created an influx of foreigners into the Philippines who basically live. The younger generations of Filipinos are not stupid and they’ve figured out that most of these foreigners have no prospects and are lower class in their home countries.

Why do I bring this up? So many times I see in this forum foreigners thinking they are viewed as “special” by Filipinos. I think this only applies to the younger foreigners or female foreigners because Filipinos are more than use to seeing old, retired foreigner males. It’s a totally different dynamic than it was years ago.

Count Binface at Eurovision?

In the upcoming by-election in Clacton in the UK, Count Binface is running and could win however unlikely it is. In his manifesto for the election he has said that he would represent the UK at Eurovision and that if he wins, it will be held in Clacton in 2028.

Obviously this is mostly satire, but I am curious what people would actually think of an elected MP taking part in the song contest, not to mention a highly satirical political figure. I understand that he is a comedian, but the Binface persona focuses so much on UK politics that I have no clue how he could make a song that represents him without breaking the political rule of the contest.

The more concerning thing for me is that he would make Wayne Rooney the UK’s “expert summariser” for the BBC. It’s not very clear what that means, but I do not want that to replace Graham Norton, he’s too much of an icon.

Again, this is mostly a joke from him as he is unlikely to win. But if it did happen, how would you feel and how would you react?

Here is his manifesto if you want to read the Eurovision points

More competition...

A Norwich man is to stand for a far-right party in the by-election triggered by Reform UK leader Nigel Farage's resignation.

Kai Stephens, 21, has been selected to stand for the British Democrats in the Clacton by-election, which will see him take on Mr Farage and Count Binface next month.

Is this salvageable?

Washed this for the first time and the blue from the number 1 has seeped through to the white. Can this shirt be saved or throw it away?

Student no shows

If I wait for a student and they don't appear and then go into the class under their student profile and mark the student absent, will they receive any kind of notification/email saying so?
