EVERYWHERE MUHAHAHAH. Job searching for years has left me defeated😔

Bumper sticker collection

I’m a new subie owner! I recently purchased a 22 Outback touring! I am excited for all the adventures I’m going to go on with my new car. I’m thinking about collecting bumper stickers from where I go and stickerbombing somewhere in the car. I don’t want to put them on the outside, and being the touring, I want to keep the interior feeling nice and premium. Any ideas?

Got a degree in environmental science. All I got to prove it is a Subaru, a water bottle with stickers, and a weed addiction

Oh and I crash out over people’s gardens/ lawns, and climate change. Welp back to my job at the garden center I go :/

I can’t be alone XD

ELI5 what happens if you pay off a car loan in a week

ELI5 if there are any drawbacks of paying off an auto loan within a week. I am taking a loan of $12,000USD as I recently bought a car. I used all I have in my checking/ savings for a $15,000 down payment. I need to liquidate stock for $12. I’m picking up the car today but the 12 hasn’t hit my bank account yet and may not until the end of the week. In NYS will you receive any sort of penalty or tax for paying off my loan in a week? I could ask to pick up the car later this week but I’m impatient

Left Toyota to get a ‘22 outback

I am a first time subaruer! I got a 2022 Outback Touring- 27,000 miles, $26K. I came from a 2017 Corolla LE. It really is luxurious compared to the Corolla, especially for 26K! How the other half lives!

I was originally looking for a truck (mostly a Tacoma) but they’re at least $10K USD more for a similar year, low trim truck. I wanted a truck for the size/storage, and to have the bed to throw dirty stuff in. I decided a SUV could be in play since the trucks were out of my $30,000ish budget. For that much money on a used vehicle, I feel like it has to wow me, and none did. Half of the trucks are 10 years old and 100K miles for over $20,000! I don’t really like any of the midsized SUVS as they are too small, and the full sized were too expensive. I landed on the Outback and decided to pull the trigger.

I’ve read through a lot of the threads and it seems like a lot of people have also came from Toyota as well. I refuse to pay the Toyota tax. IMO, Ram and Ford have passed the Tundra in reliability. The Tacoma is alright IMO, but I don’t like the turbocharged I4. Even though slightly underpowered (feels like the Corolla), I think the flat 4 boxer is a neat platform
at least. I also I need AWD for the snow. However, I don’t like the cvt nor the freaking 11” tablet but it’s whatever for the price.

Napa leather seats? Haram Kardon speakers? The sunroof? (Hope it doesn’t leak!) This is legitimately luxurious! The suspension actually gives for a nice ride. It’s a little soft, but it’ll be on the road 95% of the time. All I’m going to ever need or want to tow is a jon boat on a trailer probably. I can get a kayak and use the roof racks. It’s long enough to throw some 2x4x8’s in the back. I really like this suv? Wagon? vehicle.

Anyways, enough yapping. I’ll leave you with this. What brand of car(s) did you switch from to go to Subaru and why?

TDLR: got a new outback after owning a Toyota. Why did you switch to Subaru from your previous car(s)?

SUV or truck?

Do I need a truck? No. Could I use a truck? Yes. Do I want a truck? Yes. Do I want to pay for a truck? Hell nah! I could also use an suv- long story short, I need more cargo space than a sedan. I do occasionally have things I’d rather store in a truck bed than a trunk of an suv.
I also really do want a manual, which leaves me to the Subaru Crosstrek and Toyota Tacoma. Any Tacoma you’ll be paying the Toyota tax. I found a 2021 manual crosstrek with 77,000 miles for $19,500 USD. Do I just take this deal? Will this be the best deal I get given the scarcity of manuals? Do I forgo the manual to get a better deal on an automatic/cvt truck or suv? I do not know how to drive a stick but I would love to learn.
Save the manuals!

Moving from home

Yeah yeah, grass is greener. I 22M graduated from college last year and moved back home. I went away to school and came back home to work. I really want to buy some property somewhere and a nice new (to me) truck and start the next chapter of my life. Living at home is really mentally challenging and I’m ready to leave. Why don’t I? I don’t know why I haven’t pulled the trigger. Where I live is too expensive to move out and trucks are also too darn expensive. I want to move to the New England, about 5 hours from where I currently am. I am just ready to start the next chapter of my life. I’m a virgin and haven’t ever had a gf. I’m just ready to move on. I have a degree in the sciences and can’t find a job! Ik this is a terrible write up but I’m just defeated

How do you clean motor oil off fabric car seats?

Long story short I spilled oil on my rear seats yesterday. I put down cat litter and dawn, not sure if it made it worse. Would it be worth it to hire a detailer, or just a complete waste of money? Reupholster? I don’t really want to get used seats from a junkyard, id rather have new. How much money you think I’m looking at?

Oil spill on seats

I have a ‘17 LE (fabric seats). Long story short, I spilled about a quart of used motor oil all over the back seat and on the front passenger seat. I put down kitty litter and dawn dish soap in a panic. Mainly, I want to get the smell out; if there is a stain there is a stain. The seats are already gross and stained. I’ve thought about hiring a professional detailer to clean the seats- do you think this is even worth it? I imagine they’d still be stained. I’ve also considered reupholstering to leather, or getting nice seat covers (if the smell is no longer there).

I do love my Corolla but I’m sorry to say, I think a truck would be great for some of the things I do. To pay the premiums right now would haunt me however.

Spilled motor oil on cloth seats

Title. It’s probably about a quart of used oil. I panicked and used kitty litter and dawn. I’m thinking of hiring a professional, do you think it would be worth it? What should I expect in terms of how well they could potentially get the stain(s) out?

What sets you apart from other candidates?

Basically title. If you’re pitching yourself in an interview, why should they hire you and not someone else with the same credentials?

Luxe mystery box?

What do you think of a luxe mystery box? Make it so you can draw from a pool of items. Some higher in value and lower value items? How much would you pay?

Am I too late?

I’ve officially decided I want to be a teacher. I graduated with a bs in environmental science last year and plan on getting my teachers certification. It seems I’m too late for the fellows or collaborative programs for the 26-27 year. I would need to be able to afford my degree, as well as normal cost of living expenses ie. rent, insurance, etc. hence me wanting to become a full time teacher (or at least have a high enough paying job). I’ve read charter schools and private schools may be an option. Are there any other options that would put me in a classroom this fall? Or at least get free/ subsided tuition?
