Is it reasonable for me to want to change my employer?

I'm in my second month of an apprenticeship and I don't like the employer at all. Most days I have nothing to do so I'm sat at a desk doing nothing all day, or any work given is under an hour. Obviously this is boring the life out of me, but its hard and stressful trying to seem busy 24/7.

It seems everyone is too busy to train me, or they just don't care. I was thinking of asking my apprenticeship provider to see if they can find me a new employer.

Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship

Hi, I've currently just enrolled on this apprenticeship and I'm wondering if anyone else has done it, and where have they ended up career wise? Im aware it can lead to data analyst roles, but I'm not sure if anyone has actually ended up there.

And a data "technician" sounds alot weaker, and may not qualify for analyst roles.

Can't get a close shave on chin and neck no matter what I do.

Every time I try and use my safety razor (Gillete King C) my neck and chin stubble simply don't go. Ive tried every single direction it seems but nothing works. The chin is the hardest area, it honestly hurts because it feels like the hair just pulls and refuses to cut. The blade also just gets stuck on it.

I end up shaving my neck and chin raw and getting serious razor bumps becsuse I have to go over the area so much just to cut it somewhat.

Im using porasso shaving soap mixed in a bowl (im not sure if thats the issue?). Ive noticed it doesnt lubricate very well and the razor drags like it would on dry skin.

Even when I've used alot of water I still cant seem to cut this hair. Any tips?

Are the estimated hours inaccurate?

Ive seen quite a few people on this sub saying they only needed like 2-3 hours per week to complete their part time degree. I plan to study computer science & artificial intelligence when im 18 in January and 18-20 hours a week sounds very hard to do. Id honestly have no free time. Im also studying Japanese as well so I need time for that.

Is finishing a degree at 24 late?

I’m 17 and I want to move to Japan in the future. I’m planning to start a Data Technician apprenticeship soon, which will give me both a qualification and an income. After that, I intend to enrol in the Open University at 18. I expect it to take around six years to complete my degree part-time.

Sometimes I worry I might be behind compared to others, since many people finish their degrees at around 21. Can someone let me know if this is late?

I would like to move via the JET program, but if I dont get that id be happy just getting a regular job. I just worry it could take a while to actually be able to move and im in like my 30s only just moving.

What else can I do to improve my Japanese?

I’m currently studying Japanese From Zero! 1 and using Anki to memorise the vocabulary from each lesson. I only move on to the next lesson once I can remember most of the words and feel comfortable with them.

The problem is that once I’ve finished my daily Anki reviews, I’m not really sure what to do next. I can’t do more reviews, but I also don’t want to move on to the next lesson too early.

I already know hiragana and katakana, so I was thinking maybe I should start learning kanji?

Scared of getting robbed.

Hi, im a 17 year old guy and I want to get a bike just to get around my local area. My area is really sketchy so im quite concerned about someone or a group of people forcing me off my bike. I see sketchy people all the time in balaclavas riding around on bikes obviously up to no good so it worries me.

Im not even thinking of getting an expensive one anyways. A cheap idk £50 one on Facebook marketplace would be sufficient for me.

Are my worries unreasonable? Is someone likely going to try and rob me?

Also if I was to go into shops what is the best way for me to lock it up?

Thanks alot

Hi, like the title says i will be starting as a teaching assistant (agency) in a primary school as a 17 year old guy. Im really nervous and would like to ask for some advice here.

I fear that the teachers may look down on me or not take me seriously because of my age. How should I dress? Do I just stand at the back for most of the lesson?

Any words of advice or encouragement would be great.
