Can anyone identify this?

I just moved into a place and this was left in the drawer beneath the stove. I’ve never seen anything like it, wondering what it might be used for.

Why do none of the pictures show up???

I’m going through some text messages and tried to browse the pictures between us, the thumbnail shows up and I can see the picture but when I click on it, all I get are these blank screens with either zero progress loading or partial loading, what’s the deal here?

The Perfect Fried Egg on a Gas Stove?

Long story short, I just moved into a place with a gas stove and I cannot seem to cook a good fried egg. The whites are cooking too quickly on the bottom leaving the top layer undercooked.

Is my pan too hot? Am I putting a lid over the pan too late? I’ve tried butter, I’ve tried oil, both methods result in the same story. I am in desperate need of some expertise advice on how to get both the top and bottom layer evenly cooked while leaving the yolks nice and runny.

Gold Standard for Acoustic Panels?

So after a long hiatus from audio work, i finally bought a place that allows me to build a legitimate space again. However, it’s large enough that buying pre-built panels would cost an arm and a leg so I want to make my own. Over a decade ago, the standard was that rockwool insulation you find at Home Depot... has anything changed? Looking for the most cost effective route but don’t want to sacrifice quality along the way.

It’s not terrible but the spots that aren’t level have already caused the planks to start cracking. Should I rip the entire floor up or try and raise the subfloor in the lowered spots first and see what that does? I’m in Ohio so the constant shifts in weather patterns make it difficult to keep a subfloor completely level.

Just bought a house and would like to build a small theater room… based on my calculations, a 77” model is the way to go, will probably go C5. Would just like to save a few bucks if possible, I don’t mind waiting a few months while I prepare the room and such.

So me and the fam just closed on a house and there’s this small bedroom available to do something with… thought about a basic theater setup but I just can’t really envision what to do speaker-wise. I feel like a sub MIGHT be overkill (though I can put up panels and corner traps for dampening). There’s a window so I thought a free standing unit would suffice to tackle the early reflection.

What would be the best course of action you think? I’m excited to have a room to do something finally but I’m worried it’s just too small for surround.

Just bought a place built in 94 and there’s like 20 of them scattered throughout the house… ugly as sin and really hurting the aesthetic. Looking for creative ways to cover the holes after yanking them. Also wondering if I should just snip the wires behind them or preserve them in case the next owner wants a landline for some reason..

All I know is I really don’t feel like patching a few dozen tiny squares with drywall lol

So I just upgraded to gigabit internet (from 500mb) and they said the speeds would take effect immediately. It’s been over an hour and speed tests are still showing 500. Do I need to reset my equipment or something for the new speeds to reflect? Or should I just call in and see what’s going on?
