Cameras are not connecting to NVR

I bought an NVR with a hard drive and I am trying to get the cameras working, they are hard wired with PoE. I can add the NVR to my desktop client, but it wont show or add any channels. I don't have a monitor that I can hook up to the NVR directly. Is there any other way to do this? On the desktop client I have add devices automatically.

When i look at the NVR channel 1 and 2 where the cameras are plugged in there is an orange light, but no green light. On the Lan there is an orange and a green.

Before the NVR they were hooked up with a PoE splitter, they worked just fine. So the cables seem fine, they are pure copper cat6a. Everything is wired properly. But the cameras are not being power or linked automatically. Does anyone have a solution to this?

The cameras have power, as I can see them move while they track movement.

What is the best tea pot for directly boiling the water, and making the tea?

I had a staub tea pot but today left it on the stove at high and the coating came off at the bottom due to the heat.

The entire time I thought that it was cast iron, but its enameled with some type of glass coating.

Does anyone know of a good old fashioned styled tea pot with a good style that doesn't have weird interior coatings, and just boiled water and makes tea? Thanks.

Does anyone have any good methods for minimizing taxes on profits?

I've been trading successfully, and am trying to find the best methods to minimize my taxes. I am quite aware of the basics, like hold for one year so that you can apply for capital gains instead of income tax, which is typically quite lower.

I have found ways using IRAs to shield from taxes, but they also significantly restrict trading, for example, no margin, and no short selling.

Its also a very exhausting and lengthy subject to research, so I am wondering if there is anyone here with a much lengthier roster of experience than I have in trading.

PMs are very welcome as well. Thanks

Also please don't blast me for wanted to minimize my taxes. I just think that capital gains/income taxes on stock profits are way too high.

HUGE Pro tip to any TOS users if you ever average up.

If you are ever averaging up on a trade, and you also are trading to lock trades in to be applicable for capital gains instead of income tax, and you average up on a trade and you are stopped out, make absolutely sure that the trade you are selling is the most recent, and not your original older trade from before.

TOS is default set to sell your first order first, and your orders following... after, which means that if you try to close out a new trade, it instead closes out the old trade you already had, which could be before it hits the mark where capital gains applies(one year obviously).

If you find yourself in this situation and want to make sure your original entries remain, go to Schwab > Profile > Cost Basis Method > and change the default setting to LIFO, or Last In First Out. That means that any new trades placed with be the first sold, which is what you want because of capital gains tax laws.

Does anyone recommend any of the open box items from Hifiman?

They have this sell quite often, and obviously some of the MRSPs are exaggerated, but I am going on vacation soon and will be out of the country for quite some time, and was thinking maybe its a good idea to get a pair of headphones for 250 or less. Just wondering if there are any that you guys would recommend?

this is the list.

Does anyone know if the Dali IO-12 headbands loosen up over time?

I just bought them and the company I bought them from once the item is opened, they have no return policy.

They are uncomfortably too tight on my head.

I am wondering if this will get better with time, or if there is anyway to swap a different headband for them. Thanks.

They do sound amazing so I would definitely prefer to keep them.

From what I can find the internal structure of the headband is metal, so maybe I can hyperflex it out and loosen it up? Obviously I don't want to break them though.

They do sound as great as everyone says.

Smell is pretty bad out of the box.

They are a little tight, I feel like they should have made the headband slightly larger for big head people. Hopefully the band loosens up over time.

Sounds quality is definitely way better than any other wireless ANC I have used.

For anyone thinking about buying them, and you are in the US, the UK sells them for significantly less than US retailers. No idea why.

Exhaust repair dilemma with muffler shop. What should I do?

I have a 2005 Nissan titan, that I recently put new b-pipes on, the midsection pipe that the downstream o2 sensor goes on. The old half of one of the flanges was leaking, so I brought it to my "trusty" local exhaust shop to have them replace the old half of the flanges(see photos). 1 foot beyond the half section of the old flanges was rusty old pipe welded to newer pipe that goes to my muffler, so all that needed to be replaces was the half of the flange, and 1 foot of pipe, on both sides.

When I talked to them they explained that they were going to cut the flange off at the new pipe, and I stopped them for a moment, and made sure that they were clear that I did not want my new pipe cut, and that I only want the half section of old flange replace, i reiterated this about 3 times to them. They confirmed that they were not going to cut the new pipe, and I said ok.

I got my truck back and looked underneath and sure enough, they cut the brand new pipes and removed the flanges entirely.

They said that if I bring it back in they will add the flanges back in, but I don't really want them working on my vehicle anymore, I told them too that if they do that there is a chance that the flanges wont be in the correct spot incase in the future I want to change anything.

They also charged me $420 for this which seems really steep.

What would you guys recommend that I do in this situation?

Price to replace two exhaust flanges on an 05 Titan?

I put in some new b-pipes, where the downstream o2 sensors are. The flanges that connect to the back side, or the side after the downstream o2 sensors are rusted, and one is warped and leaking. Only 1 foot of pipe on both sides needs to be replaced, and only half of one flange on each side. That is all. The shop doing the work is saying it is going to be $420, I am having a hard time imagining that this should be $420.

Does anyone here know what the typical price for this would be?

How to keep different entries on same stock separate?

Is it possible to have individual lines for a each order/entry on a stock? When average up/add to a position, it merges the order/entry lines on the chart. Just wondering if there is a way to change this.

What sprinkler can I buy to fix these dry spots on my park strip?

Approximate location is in the Midwest

The sprinklers that I have don’t reach quite far out enough for this strip. Can anyone recommend a good sprinkler option.

On the opposite side I just need to adjust a sprinkler

Are there any or multiple benefits to running local other than just scaling cost?

I have a pretty good computer and pay for Chatgpt Plus, which is great for gathering information, and many other things. But I was wondering if its worth it to run Local LLMs/AI rather than use cloud services.

I am pretty new to all this but I was learning how to load up LLMs on Ollama, and realized I probably could use more ram, since I only have 32. And more TBs, only have 2. Everything else on my computer is great for running AI though.

I guess I am trying to see if there is any reason to run locally, to justify the cost up upgrading a few things on my computer.

I was hoping that maybe it would be possible to train, or tweak AI programs, but I am not sure if this is possible. I am wondering too if its possible to change coding in AI or if this would likely be unsuitable for 1 individual. But maybe the opportunities or possibilities of what AI can do haven't been completely unraveled yet. Or maybe they have? I don't know. But I am wondering if it might be a good idea for a road to travel down, if that makes sense.

I imagine too that with local AI you can automate many things that with cloud services wouldn't be possible.

Currently I have a 4090 and a 14900k so I am wondering if it makes sense to upgrade my ram which is a bit costly, and then also get more hard drives for local information gathering, etc.

Thanks for any beneficial and positive advice you guys can give!
