Very impressed with these little pups!
Was in need of a warmer pair and these have certainly delivered!

These bad boys arrived today! Nice little after work treat
Fiio M21. When selecting where I want music, it glitches out
So I’ve been using the ew300 for a year and since buying my DAP last week I noticed how much they’ve been hurting my ears with the treble. So I’ve ordered the Aful Explorers to hopefully help with that. Tonight I decided to use my old Zero 2’s and I genuinely forgot how good these little things really are! Lovely neutral sound with decent imaging and instrument separation. At £25, you really can’t go wrong!!
Not sure if you can tell but the ew300 are in the naughty corner on the table in the pic
I’ve got the Fiio m21 dap and wondering if I should buy it with the 3.5 or 4.4 cable. Never used a 4.4 before but my current ew300 are using a 3.5mm tripowin zonie cable that I was gunna swap over as I love that cable. Is it worth getting these with the 4.4? Assuming the m21 will be worthy enough to power it properly
A nice little housing for her for when I’m driving as there’s no where else to put it. Lined with carpet underlay :)
Long story short I’ve been using the ew300 with gold nozzle with my Fiio M21 dap and have been experiencing some serious ear fatigue with the treble and mids. It’s not too bad when listening to slower stuff but I’m a bit metal and rock fan and holy shit does that hurt my ears! I’ve tried numerous different EQ’s but to no avail.
I won’t be getting rid of the ew300 but want a warmer less sparkly iem to go alongside my ew300 for when my ears are playing up.
I’ve never had a full planar iem but have always been intrigued but I believe it’s a warm V Shape? I do enjoy a v shape but only ever tried them. I understand the Pure is a warm neutral so thinking that may be better as those highs aren’t as pronounced.
Would appreciate some opinions if you’ve ever had experience with either of them. Or just general info would be nice. Thanks!
So I’m using the ew300 (hold nozzle) IEM’s connected to my phone with a dongle dac and never had any problems but since using the Fiio m21 I’ve come to realise I’m really treble sensitive. I listen to a lot of metal and rock and no matter what I try, those highs man, jeeeez they’re hurting my ears. I’ve tried different EQ’s, I’ve even tried turning the eq off but all that helps is to lower the volume which I’ve never had to do previously. I’m putting it down to user error rather than the DAP itself.

UAPP trial unresponsive to anything. Looked through settings and can’t seem to figure out why it’s not playing. I’ve just downloaded it so it’s not happened before. Permissions for music are allowed on the DAP and all other players are closed. Using Fiio M21
As the title suggests im after some new albums to check out. I have a very wide music taste that ranges from deathcore all the way to gritty 90's hiphop. Im a big fan of 90's/00's music
Genres i dont like are UK garage, DnB and Country
Tried playing the first one via steam deck if you catch my drift (AI picks up on wording) but the controls were terrible so gave up in the end. Haven’t played this in years and was one of my favs back on the n64!
The two I have in mind are the Hiby R4 and the Hiby R6 III (2025).
This will be my first DAP and I’m currently using a pair of Simgot EW300 IEM’s. I want to be able to be future proof and the reason I haven’t ventured into planars is because I feel like I don’t have enough power with my phone to run them properly.
I’m currently using FLAC converted to ALAC music files on Apple Music (without the streaming service). I don’t care for streaming services, I’m all about local music.
I just don’t know if the extra £100/$100 is worth it for the r6 III over the R4? Is the R6 that much better to warrant the extra cash?
Also am I stupid for thinking that a DAP would be better rather than using my phone?
I had an iPod classic that broke so I do like the dedicated music players
Or look at other options like the ibasso DX180 or Fiio M21.
I’d like to get away from my iPhone and like the idea of a dedicated player

Before I get grief, yes I’m fully aware I could have digitally upgraded my s1 copy, but I will eventually sell that. I wanted to get the physical switch 2 copy to have. Looking forward to starting it again in all its upgrade glory
