.410 reloading dies for regular press ?

.410 reloading dies for regular press ?

So just something Ivw been curious about . Has there ever been a set of dies that let you reload.410 on a regular press ? I'm just curious because it seems to me like it's small enough it should work .. I know I've seen people use .303 brit or .444 cases to make brass cases .410 shell equivalents . And just looking at the two old 12 and 20 ga presses I have, don't seem like theres much they do a regular press with correctly made dies couldn't , well past the powder and shot drop deal , but I'm not really a shot gun guy at all so idk .

Help with modded 360's

Hay eveyone. So long story short I'm just a simple dude who wants to play a few old games and who is sick of modern consoles needing high speed Internet and constant updates for everything.i lien in bumfuck nowhere and don't have the best Internet with my lil hot spot.I got two old 360's but they won't read disks anymore and after trying and failing to fix them ( replacing the disk drives without knowing they needed some program key thing) started looking into the modded 360's where you can play games off a flash or hard drive and just wanted some advice on wheres a good place to get one , whats a good one to get and can I get them pre loaded with games ? Or do I have to do all that myself? Sorry if these are really dumb questions but I'm just a bit frustrated right now trying to use my wife's old Xbox one to play Skyrim...( Why the hell does it need to download it instead of just playing it off the fuckin disk ? 🤨)

Thanks

Updating loads for my shit box 6.5 Grendel

Built a lil shit box 6.5 grendel a few years back and it's been my lil ranch / farm beater rifle . Finally decided to try and load some new ammo because I was about out of the last batch I made few years back. Shoots alot faster and nicer then I remember. The again never tried Tac in the Grendel till now. Probably would have helped if I had something a lil higher mag then this 6x SWFA too lol

7mm PRC AR10

Great lakes 7PRC found at the local pawn shop apparently a lady bought it , found it was too much for her and just wanted to get rid of it and get a smaller gun in a trade ( sure lol) had no real desire for a 7PRC ...buuuuuut it would be kinda cool to have it go with my other wacky calibers lol.

75 gr double cannelured sp

Anyone know much about this bullet or played with it any ? Got a few boxes off of midway because they where dirt cheap but can't really find too much about them . Seen some say they where possibly for a old Hornady SBR loading that's been discontinued but that's bout it.

Bullet selection for short barrels

Post this over on the AR reddit but them guys ain't big chatters so figured I'd post here too 😂 actually it's probably a better place anyway 🤣

Anyway curious what everyones personal preference is about this . When it comes to your short barrel AR's (14.5's and down) , past just whatever shoots the best ,do y'all lean more towards slower and heavier bullets or lighter and faster ? I have and can load about anything from 77gr smk down to a 30gr vmax ( don't really play with the nicer stuff like ttx or the copper solids though) and I usually only mess with 16-22" barrels so I'm used to pretty decent velocity regardless. But now looking at loading for my 12.5 and probably some 11-10's soon I'm thinking about it a lil more due to the decreased velocities. So I guess more what I'm trying to ask is which way do y'all feel like you get a pretty good level of performance across the board?

Ignorant with some questions

Hello all. Sorry first off I'll just ask y'all please give a guy a break I'm from the AR side of the hall and don't really know a ton about AK style rifles past shooting and tweaking a wasr 10 a lil , but I've been getting more and more into learning about them since ....well AR's are getting a lil boring to me . So been listening and watching some stuff from guys like Jim fuller , m26 lemon grenade, klayco ect. And been finding it all pretty interesting . But other then that I'm and some old documentries ,pretty damn ignorant to AK's

Anyhow I just have a few lil questions outta curiosity and thought this might be a good place to ask and hopefully not get roasted too bad 🤣

  1. Why can't America seem to make half decent AK ? Like I grew up being told and hearing about how simple they where to build , stuff like " yeah they build them in bike shops and caves in Afghanistan there so easy !" But seems with all our manufacturing capabilities we just cant make a decent one.. or even just parts / kits.. Well at least a mass production deal , not the custom ones .Why is that ?only thing I can kinda figure out people just keep trying to cut costs and not do stuff right like heat treating and rivets and stuff . Is there some other reason or ?

  2. So I know there's aren't technically AK's but also .... And kinda the same question as the first,Why no Americans produced SVD / PSL's ? Seems with all the nerd love for the things and how people go kinda crazy anytime theres a change to get some id figure someone would have tired to make them but seems they only ever try to get imports . I know they wouldn't be as popular as other stuff but with the amount of weird off shit a lot of there companies make ..

  3. Are there like any full armour tool kits a guy could get if they wanted to build their own AK's ? I know with AR's you can just buy a full armours kit in one go but seems for AK's you gotta kinda piece everything together. I mean I get having to buy the presses and stuff separate but all the jobs and stuff . And what's like the cost for a beginner AK builder should be looking at to tool up ? Already have a welder and a lot of other metal working tools so ... $1500 maybe ?

Anyhow I'd appreciate any answers or hell just some links to some reading or listening

Edit , sorry I JUST found a older post about building AK's with a tool and parts list but seems most of the links to stuff 404 😅 so have a better idea but still

Dirt cheap digital set ups ?

Any options out there for a guys wanting an absolute dirt cheap ( I mean like $500 and down ) lil digital nv set up for non serious stuff ? Like legit just want some for getting to and from the deer stand without a light. Maybe screwing around with some airsoft.. and when I say that I mean getting drunk and shooting at each other with airsoft guns lol

I'm honestly fine with need an illuminator or something. Just really dont need a PVS14 like I used to use. Also I just really like dumb lil cheap projects like this for some reason.

I have one fo those little.one leaf commander deals that clips on to your scope that works for what I use it for and I was thinking about maybe trying to give up for a hands free deal but idk

Cage trapping tips for protecting your flock

Welp someone down the roads crappy predator proofing failed now their claiming war on anything small and furry so I got called 🤦 folks will spend $300 on fancy chickens but not $100 on a hot wire... But thought it would be a good time for a lil tippy tip post on cage trapping pests around the homestead. None of this is necessary but it definitely helps get them caught quicker then just a can of tuna in the back of a cage . And when you loosing animals...it's better to try and just get it done as quickly as possible vs doing the bare minimum till there caught

Some earth toned spray paint help break up your trap out line help it blend in ( big help if you have folks who doing know how not to mess with stuff that isn't theres...even if it's in your property)...and help it from from rust a lil . Also it helps with some animals because...well its not a big shiny silver box in the middle of the woods or what have you. Seriously a lot of these animals arynt rocket scientists or super " smart " like ambye try to make them out to be but they have enough sense to go " yeahhhh that big shiny box wasn't there yesterday and also doesn't look normal so noooo" but yeah I like the Rust-Oleum brand camo paint but any matte earth colors work . Really wanna make sure you get the bottomes good to help with rust prevention. But again your hair doing enough to break it up no need to get all crazy . Sown brown or tan , green and black then let them air out for like 2-3 days

Make sure you rock your cage in the ground so it not wiggling all over the dang place . Staking it down helps a lot too . Alot of animals will back out of a cage if they stop in and it start wobbling . Just think if you walk in into a room and it just started shaking with everything step....are with gonna just keep goin in ? Or are you gonna back out and second guess ? Most of mine I build have a srake ring or two welding on the outside but just a single T bar stake on the side in the middle of the cage usually more then enough

A quick covering on the bottom helps alot . Nothing crazy but just something to break up the wire bottom and the trigger pan . Few hand fulls of grass some dirt on the bottom ect . Basically you just down wannthem to be walking and feel , ground ground ground , weird wire floor .

Visuals an help alot especially with nest predators like possums, grey fox, feral cats and raccoons. I use feathers and fire from my chicken quail and rabbit pens. A big wad of it in the back mimicking like a bear or dead critter something else was trying to stash away )and some scattered out the front will grab more visual critters attention and bring them over from a distance.

Also try to block your trap a lil bit . You want it positioned in a manner that when the small or see it there gonna wanna come to the door first so just make it there easiest way by putting the back against a stump, pushing it in some grass , between a hay bale or something. Other wise alot of times they just go and work the back . Using something like the oils from a sardine can dripping from the outside to the inside of the trap can help get them started.

Hog ringing some extra small hardware cloth on the back side can help

And don't get crazy worried about human scent . Unless you wearing a bunny suit they will smell you. If there going. In your coops and stuff where your always at there smelling you all the time . Seriously if you look up how scent galns and all that works and how there just dripping skin cells constantly...yeah it's a waste of time 99% of the time . Especially for stuff like racoons and possums.

Also double door cages are great because you can legit just put them at an entrance to a cool or something and a lot of the towns you pest just walks onto them no bait needed

Like I said non of this is really needed needed or a must but alot of it helps , especially when you get some of the harder to catch ones ..

Amazon hog ring gun

Just wanna throw this out there . Amazon sells these air powder hog ring guns for right at 200 beans and I orginally got it or replace a older one I was given ( use it for in installing wire on cage traps i build) but been using it for all sorts of stuff and imo it's waaayyy with the money ! Seriously the amount of time one of these things saves over doing. Then one by one is crazy. I've put together a few cage traps , trans port cages , quail pens and other stuff in a 1/4 if the time it used take me. Seriously if you where looking for a sign to get one here it is 😎👍
