Wu Chang G7 pro quality question

I’ve had my Gamesir G7 pro wu change fallen feathers edition since February. I honestly barely use it as it’s really just my back up/single player games controller. I’ve maybe used it maybe 10 times or so.

The A button makes a noticeably loud screech when I press it, maybe even seems as if the button is going bad/becoming harder to click properly. Also one of the sticks also makes a bit of a screech noise from normal use. Just curious if anyone else has had these issues or if maybe it’s worth activating the warranty for? If I had been using this often it wouldn’t bother me but considering I’ve barely used it, it’s kind of disappointing.

Why was Mike so immature when he was younger? Is he stupid?

I don’t get what Gus sees in Mike. I always thought he was irrational and too spiritually driven. My second rewatch of Breaking Bad and still I’m completely lost.

Does anyone know why there’s such a large gap in my cabinet and how to adjust it?

End of the year rant (I just want that BO7 beta feeling again)

When the BO7 beta dropped I was having a blast in the open playlists, the maps felt fresh and decent. I had really high hopes for BO7 when the beta ended and was super excited for launch especially because of persistent lobbies and open matchmaking but every update since launch has just been gradually more of a let down with more returning maps and the new maps I have seen haven’t really impressed me aside from 1 or 2 maybe. Theres been LOTS of content but I can’t think of one time where a new gun dropped and I was just like WOW and super into it. The Maddox came close to that feeling early on but that’s just because it was insanely broken and The Hawker (best sniper I’ve ever used).

S1 held that magic for me a bit but every season after is easily forgettable to me. I really feel like this game was missing something. Maybe it’s because sales weren’t great and player counts are low. Maybe the standard matchmaking playlist split casuals off in the worst way leaving open matchmaking feeling sweatier than it should have. (Skewing data and public opinions on MM) The game is clearly better than BO6 to me but just doesn’t give me those special memories I hope to gather with a good COD.

Season 5 matchmaking update was the icing on the cake as I’ve been on MW3 and Empulse ever since. Also whether you wanted carry forward or not, the fact that they planned for BO6-BO7 carry forward only to change their mind last minute really puts some gaps in the weapon categories. BO6 weapons would fills these gaps. (Not trying to make a big carry forward stir, just an aspect that clearly left unintended gaps in content IMO)

I want to like black ops games, I’m all for Omnimovement but the comp scene has too much influence on this game, too many players who are not that good and have been tricked into thinking they’re some kind of ranked sweat, especially with how easy ranking up was in S4... Or even good players that think they’re some kind of demi-god when really they’re just typical “good”. Everyone’s ego is inflated and it’s more prominent in BO7 than it was in MW3 23’ imo. Probably because of the smaller player base and “casuals” flocking to Standard MM mosh pit (pre S5)

It’s a less popular take but I think they went overboard with the overly simple cookie cutter “comp” 3 lane map design. I wouldn’t call myself a casual, I do want the game to be competitive but at the same time would it kill the game to have at least half the maps be a little more interesting/explorative/have more verticality (even at the price of not being perfectly “competitive”) and also not recycled?

Raid, Express and Standoff don’t feel fresh at all because they were just in Cold War in 2020. They’re probably the best most well thought/intricate maps in the game especially when compared to the new original maps yet they’re just reused content we saw as recent as 5 years ago. Same story with Firing range, Fringe and Hacienda, good maps but too recently used to really give BO7 a fresh new game feeling. MW3 23’ also used recycled maps but I think it worked out MP wise because the maps they recycled have better replay value(IMO), haven’t been seen in sometime and the new maps they created actually felt good, managing to be both intricate/interesting but also competitive.

I think COD needs to chill on bringing back old maps and put some real effort into new original maps that aren’t just the same cookie cutter 3 lane crap with different themes. MW4 hasn’t really confirmed how many maps will be remakes (tmk) but the maps they have showed us don’t really seem all that intricate or very “modern warfare-like” as I was hoping. My initial impression is that the maps seem a bit like the BO7 originals, very simple 3 lane comp focused.

Say what you want about IW’s big ass goofy ass maps, COD originated in Big ass goofy ass maps and golden era COD’s felt “homey” and fresh because of that IMO. I don’t need every angle and sightline to be perfect I need the maps to feel fresh and adventurous while at the same time being able to provide a competitive experience. I think a balance of the two makes the best maps. RIP BO7, you’re like the girl I thought was the one but day by day, update by update reminded me how flawed she really was.

Planning on building a 10x10 partition wall in my basement (first time)

I don’t have the money to pay someone to build this wall so I’m just gonna wing it and go at it myself. I don’t have a tremendous amount of experience sawing wood or sheet-rocking but my dad does and he’ll be able to guide with that part of it, although he’s never put a wall up before either. Looking for any advice/pointers for a first timer.

I’m thinking just a standard 2x4, 16c wall 10x10 (roughly). I was curious is maybe a 2x6, 24c method would be easier/cheaper for me since it’s less studs to have to put up? The floor is concrete, screwing into old concrete seems a little concerning to me. House was built around 1985 and we have had foundation issues in the past and actually currently have some water leaking in through the top of foundation where it meets the soil but is going to be sealed from the outside soon.

I also want a door in the wall and potentially add 2 electric outlets (I have an electrician who could do this part but if that would be a big expense or hassle I’ll just skip this part) Edit: skipping the sound proofing part but may opt for thicker sheetrock and seal the entirety of the wall with sound proof caulk to reduce sound pass through)

For a first timer what would you recommend? Any simpler way to do this? I think I can manage it but may take me a while to get right.

My thoughts on the current state of Scuf controllers and some improvements I think should be considered

Quality control issues aside (I’ve gone through two different Scuf controllers with a strange left stick issue in the past 6 months, my 2nd replacement is on the way!)

I love Scuf controllers as I think they’re the best there is in the pro controller market aside from maybe Gamesir purely because of the price point but they don’t have paddles and no PS5 versions either. I’m big on having extra buttons on my controller, preferably 6 but I cannot stand the side button design on the Scuf envision and the new Omega for PS5.

After I heard the Scuf Reflex was discontinued I was a bit disappointed as I love the fact that it was simply a dualsense shell with Scuf upgrades but at the same time was excited to see Scufs next PS5 controller only to be let down and see that it is essentially the Envision just made for PS5. I would much rather see two extra bumpers like a Gamesir controller than 2 side buttons that can get in the way depending on how you prefer to hold your controller. 2 extra bumpers is nice and out of the way but still accessible IMO. With all the customization in the Scuf builder I’d love to see the option to choose between 2 Side buttons for those who prefer that or 2 extra bumpers for those who prefer that like myself. They could even provide the option to include both 2 side buttons and 2 extra bumpers making for a total of 8 extra buttons as I know some gamers prefer to replace all 8 face buttons.

My other gripe about the Omega and Envision is the back paddle design and functionality. I haven’t personally got my hands on these yet (aside from testing the Envision out at Best Buy a couple times) but I’ve seen some pretty bad reviews of the newer paddle design, some have said the inner most paddles are difficult to reach and the outer most paddles are a bit too hard to press, this one I can attest for by simply feeling the controller for just a few clicks, far more hard to click than say the Scuf reflex paddles which I feel were the ideal design and functionality.

I will give credit to the Envision/omega paddle design because it’s less intrusive than the Reflex paddles but I just can’t get over the increased pressure required to press on the outer paddles. Also I never found the Reflex paddles to be in the way and it was my first back paddle controller I ended up successfully using and continuing to use. I haven’t heard any complaints about the Scuf Instinct for Xbox paddles but they look the same as Envision/Omega so I assume it’s the same issue there but idk for sure.

In summary I think Scuf could benefit from:

  1. Better inner most paddle access
  2. Less hard to click to outermost paddles (bring back the Scuf reflex paddle design it was perfect IMO or perhaps make that a custom design option?)
  3. An option between side buttons or extra bumpers up top, perhaps even allow the option to have both of these for those players whom want 8 extra buttons
  4. More color options in the builder for Bumpers, triggers, front butt and thumb sticks. Maybe even more options for rubber grip color. I feel very limited creatively when trying to build a custom because the bumpers/triggers/sticks aren’t able to match my color design

Can anyone help me tweak my acceleration time setting? (Controller)

Just got the game. I’ve watched videos and read posts on the sweet spot for settings and I think I’m almost to where I want to be but I don’t fully understand what acceleration time setting is for and what I should really go for with it. Some play with it at 0 apparently but I tried that with my 8.0 sensitivity and the right stick becomes way too sensitive, I thought of maybe lowering my stick sensitivity to adjust but I assume that’s probably not the best idea.

Aim feels ok the way it is but occasionally feel like I can’t get the crosshair where I want it especially mid gunfight after already hitting my target a couple times I’m finding it hard to get back on to the same target and finish after they move away

My topic relevant settings are:

.80 acceleration time

Acceleration horizontal max speed of 5.00 and Acceleration vertical max speed of 5.00

Acceleration type is axial

Response curve is exponential

Dead zone type is axial

Inner and outer deadzones are both ar 0.05 just as a starting point not sure where to go with these yet

Horizontal sensitivity is 8.00
Vertical is 7.80 (I usually taper these slightly)

First timer review!

This game feels amazing. The maps are designed pretty well and match the movement and modes seemingly well. I love that we have loadout and perks. The gunplay is spectacular although need to tweak my settings a bit more, I go between feeling too sensitive and not sensitive enough when aiming down sights but I’ll figure it out eventually. I love the mini map design and the information it gives. Haven't figured out spawns yet but the action is so fast paced I'm always finding enemies anyways. I love how enemies highlight orange when damaged I think? Not sure what triggers that yet.

I feel hooked already and cross my fingers this game doesn't die off and gets more popular!

Would love to see this game in its final form with more players active and hopefully a round based, one-life mode of some kind! I’m a controller player and my only experience with this sort of thing is Titanfall 2 legit just a handful of matches well after the games lifecycle, just a little about me. Mostly a COD guy used to be a Halo guy and dabbled with the original Splitgate a bit.

If I could add anything:
More controversial probably but I think maybe the TTK should be a touch faster and health should regen a touch faster as well? Really curious what you guys think on this one actually.

I posted some other things l'd add in the comments.

Anyone experiencing packet loss today?

I’m on PS5 I virtually never get packet loss/burst almost always around 15 ping unless a friend is hosting the lobby. Tonight I’ve had packet loss in two different matches. Went away for a bit and just came back my last match. Just curious if there’s some kind of wide spread issue?

Scuf reflex FPS controller quality issues even after receiving a replacement

I assume there are official Scuf reps in this sub? (Advice from any user is welcome) I purchased a Scuf reflex FPS with TMR sticks, a custom color and keyboard click buttons for all, back in October I believe. After just a short time maybe a few weeks in, my left stick started to get this super cheap feeling almost feels broken? Kind of a grindy/squeaky feel to it. I activated my warranty and sent it back in for repair/replacement. I believe they replaced it entirely and sent a new one. This one also has the same weird left stick issue. Also my right trigger seems to fail randomly after only having it for like a month or so? Didn’t have this trigger issue with the first one though.

The left stick thing just might be poor stick cap housing design I’m thinking? Because the reflex doesn’t have a great stick cap housing as compared to base dual sense and other pro PS5 controllers which have a sturdier stick housing. Either way it’s unacceptable for a $300+ controller. I’m curious now what my options are? Can I try for the warranty again? The reflex isn’t in production anymore so will they even be able to fulfil again? I would much prefer a full refund. So I could just take the money and buy an Omega or maybe just try Aim controllers.

How bad do you think cheating is in this game?

I know there’s a lot of posts about cheating so just ignore this one if it doesn’t interest you! Thanks!

It’s great the glitched guns are gone but to me it seems shipment playlist and Search and Destroy still have a fair amount of cheaters. I see a lot of them that seem to be trying to hide it too. A lot of quickscopers/no scopers in Search that just seem to be a little too perfect especially when there’s a full team who’s super good at no scoping (at like 2am) it can be very sus.

I suspect XIM (aim assist + Mouse and keyboard) and other more mild forms of cheating are very common as they’re not as noticeable but give a serious boost to accuracy and/or awareness as well as the cheaters ego.

I feel I keep running into these sort of middle ground cheaters, XIM users. Really feels like there’s a lot of them and it’s pretty shitty calling these guys out because I think I’m decent at detecting it but most other players don’t know what XIM or soft aim may look like and just say I’m wrongfully haccusing. (XIM has some giveaways when watching cams but it’s not as blatant as true aim bot). For example you can’t “flick” using a controller but some of these PC guys are flicking while “on controller”. A dead giveaway whenever you see this in cams (usually).

What do you guys think? Is the cheating as bad as some older games like MW2019? I swear more and more cheaters are switching to XIM’s and soft aim to be less noticeable but still get that ego boost from people who defend them even though others like myself attempt to out them for what they really are. Theres also auto ping, constant UAV and other more subtle forms of cheating that can give players a much less noticeable boost. The type of things streamers (who cheat) usually do.

TTK has increased over the years but magazine size has not. Why? [BO2]

Pictured is the base magazine capacity for the AN-94 in BO2. I didn’t play COD in the golden era, I picked it up in 2019 because of Warzone mainly. Ever since switching to core MP, it’s always bothered me that the base magazines are a bit small considering the shots to kill in the game. Shots to kill range from 4-7 shots for most full autos in recent COD’s. In the golden era (COD4-BO2) average shots to kill was around 2-5. (To the best of my knowledge, I didn’t play back then)

Do the devs keep the mags at 30 round base purely for “even numbers sake”? Or immersion perhaps? It just makes sense to me that since the required shots to kill has increased in the modern age, the magazine size should increase too. Or perhaps it’s just because the gunsmith allows for bigger mag as well as other attachments? Depending on the game there’s great penalty for the larger mag. Particularly with the newest versions of MW2 and MW3. BO6/7 seem to be a bit less penalizing when going for a larger mag but still have to use an attachment slot for that mag. I feel the recent gunsmiths MW2/3, BO6/7 would be much better if the base mag was a smidge larger/more viable.

MW3 was my best year and all year long my main AR’s were MCW, MTZ and STG. It’s odd to me that the MCW (a 5 shot AR) has a base 30 round mag while the STG (a 4 shot AR) has the same base mag at 30. Shouldn’t the 5 shot weapon get more like a 35 round base mag? Since the STG is getting more bang for its buck by taking less shots to kill but having the same base mag as AR’s that take more shots to kill?

Any advice for a fix?

Just bought a Midea 12,000 BTU, U shape window air conditioner and the window doesn’t line up with the opening of the system like intended. The metal bracket that hands on the outside is level as it should be. Any thoughts/opinions/advice would be greatly appreciated thanks!

DMZ (MW2 2022) just got a decent server update and more updates coming in the next few weeks! If MW2 can get a decent DMZ update and more to come this kind of defies the logic of “they never update old games”. Which has never been true, old games have received updates/patches multiple times in the past! I’m not giving up on MW3/SHG!

Opinions on carry over aside, I get the feeling the devs still plan on adding most of the BO6 maps, guns and maybe the equipment to BO7. They’ve already added some of the maps that were just remastered in BO6. They added most/many of the lethals/tacticals/field upgrades and streaks.

They haven’t added a lot of melees to BO7 since launch, just now getting a katana melee with the 3.5 update.

The 1911 is a great add but the pistol category is still very small as well as the LMG category. The sniper category is also fairly small with only 2 new snipers since launch. I can’t help but think a lot of the BO6 content would “fill the missing holes” in BO7.

BO7 is missing weapon types we’re used to seeing every year:

A 3 shot semi auto weapons like the goblin/FAL. Usually COD games have multiple 2 shot Marksmans but the only options come with the MXR conversion kit and technically the Novaline is a 2 shot marksman when in semi auto. Theres no revolver pistol. No diamatti or rennetti style burst pistol. Velox 5.7 is burst and a great weapon at that but it’s an auto burst which isn’t the same functionally as a one burst per tap pistol like say the Renetti from MW3. There’s surely more common weapon types missing from BO7 but you get the idea.

The BO6 weapons could fill all these missing weapon types I listed.

BO7 has only one single dot reticle color in the game, basic red dot. BO6 “spoiled” us with the option for a green, blue, red and purple dot something I think many agree was a good or even borderline necessary set of options. (Battlefield 6 literally lets you customize reticle colors in settings skipping any sort of grind, how it should be IMO) Specially referring to dot reticles for the record, I know there are different colored reticles in BO7 but many of them are fantastical and/or even downright unusable from a competitive perspective. It is especially strange to me that BO6 spoiled us with all the reticle dot colors but BO7 has just the one? Really makes me think this is yet another thing that will carry over eventually.

Apparently BO7 was originally supposed to launch with all/most of the BO6 content/maps but that was chalked. So perhaps that would explain these “gaps” in features/weapons but I tend to think otherwise, something about BO7 just screams carry over is gonna happen eventually. Excluding operator skins and some things that simply won’t fit in to the flow of BO7.

The face off playlist has only 3 proper “face off” maps in the faceoff playlist. Nexus simply doesn’t count as “proper” faceoff map IMO, not a hot take I don’t think. The past 3 COD’s and even Cold War had a good amount of face off maps in the face off playlist at launch or at least by the start of season 3. I know there’s sensitivity surrounding faceoff/brain rot maps as a whole but the problem people have with faceoff is the existence of these playlists as a whole, taking away from the player base of the core playlists, so even if just 3 of these maps are in a playlist, the same “harm” is being done anyways whether it be 2 faceoff maps or 200.

This lack of faceoff maps may seem like the devs were simply listening to the complaints about Faceoff/brain rot maps (which they have been listening very well this year IMO) but like I said I don’t think less faceoff maps is what any of the people who despise the existence thereof were asking for, rather they wanted it completely gone and bigger/better core playlist maps. So yet another reason for me to think one of these seasons we’re gonna see more and more BO6 content added, specifically the face off maps.

BO6 faceoff maps Babylon and Stakeout were found in some BO7 data leaks a while back, I don’t know how relevant that info is but something to consider. Also I saw some leak about the Stakeout build in the BO7 files featuring a different outer balcony that looks like it was built for wall jumping, this leak I take with a grain of salt because it was floating around twitter for a bit but very quickly died down.

Does anyone else speculate the devs carrying over even more BO6 content to BO7 somewhere down the line?

(Opinion here but I think if we did see a carry over of all/most BO6 weapons I would presume it’s less disorganized than the MW2-MW3 carry over disaster (I assume it would be organized exactly how the weapons from different games are separated in Warzone) and hopefully better balance/usefullness, i.e the BO6 weapons come into the game fully viable and use BO7 attachments rather than the former games attachments) I think if they go that way about it and don’t bring over anyways skins or any of the very hated maps like Redcard, it would actually be well received.)
