I’m finding the General Awareness section harder to manage than Quant or Reasoning, mainly because the questions can go beyond the usual current affairs summaries.

For example, instead of just memorising that a particular scheme was launched, I’m trying to remember things like the ministry responsible for it, its target beneficiaries, key features and any recent changes. Same with banking awareness, where RBI circulars, monetary policy decisions, financial terms and recent banking developments can all show up.

For those preparing for IBPS/SBI/RRB exams, how are you covering GA at this level of detail? Are you making separate notes for banking and financial awareness, or using one combined current affairs source?

Also, how far back are you realistically revising before the exam?

I’m mainly struggling with the DI sets in the Quant section where the concept itself is not difficult, but the calculations take too long. For example, in caselet DI or missing DI, I can usually figure out the equations and approach, but by the time I finish the arithmetic, I’ve already spent 8–10 minutes on one set.

I’ve started practising approximation and fraction-to-percentage conversions separately, but I’m not sure if that’s enough or if I should be changing the way I attempt the sets altogether.

For those who have been preparing seriously for SBI/IBPS exams, how do you decide during the exam whether a DI set is worth attempting? Also, which specific calculation techniques actually helped you reduce your time rather than just adding more formulas to remember?

I’m currently focusing on banking exams and the biggest issue I’m facing with GA is that I can remember the recent current affairs for a few days, but older banking and financial awareness topics start getting mixed up.

For example, I can revise RBI updates, monetary policy, banking appointments and government schemes from the last few weeks, but when I go back to older monthly PDFs, I barely remember the details.

How are you guys revising GA across multiple months? Do you maintain short notes for things like RBI circulars, banking terms, appointments and schemes, or do you just keep revising monthly PDFs?

I’ve been studying for bank exams for a while, but lately I feel like I’m doing a lot of things without knowing if they’re actually helping. Some days I solve mocks, other days I’m stuck watching lectures and making notes.

For people who are seriously preparing right now, what does your actual daily routine look like? How many mocks or sectional tests are you attempting, and how are you analysing the mistakes afterwards?
