Grass Snake in my little pond!

Was just about to top up my little garden pond when I spotted something swimming!

Just a bit worried it’s trapped. I have rocks around the edge for the frogs to jump out but not sure if a snake can!

DIY - bubble foil “shutters”

I was going to put this on the inside to try and combat the coming heatwave but read it may cause the glass to crack.

Doesn’t look great but it’s working already! This is the room I WFH in and it can get really hot.

Temp is 22C at mo - will update later. Max temp later is predicted to be around 33-34C.

Yorkshire Water bill

I’m very looked online and the last bill I had was October 2025, the next was due May 2026 I believe but I haven’t received a new one. They also more than doubled my payment from £17 to £44 a month!

I can’t get hold of anyone on the phone as there is a long waiting time and it cuts off!

Anyone else having issues?

Window and room ventilation - solar install

I’ve been lucky enough to be passed for an LA solar grant - panels and battery however one of the conditions is that I must have vents put in all my windows. They are UPVC with some existing vents but some don’t have any.

They also require installation of extraction fans in the kitchen and bathroom (and downstairs toilet). Plus they will trim my doors to allow airflow.

Please could anyone explain why this is? Just a bit worried I’m going to end up with a very cold drafty house in winter!
