Wondering about the ins and outs of building a run

Today I made a song 90 seconds long so I could try practice getting a run together to train for competing.
I had high hopes of filling the 90 seconds today but soon realised this is gonna take a bit of work.
So far I've managed to get the first 30 seconds but it always seems to change a little but when I give it a go.
I plan to keep at this until I have enough consistency to actually do the full run.
I want it to be a good run with mostly rolling tricks so I use the full space provided. I actually seem to suck at anything stationary when I feel pressure but need to learn to slow down and not rush (although I do want to keep the flow).
Hopefully with enough practice I'll get a strict format in place that I can skate with ease.
No idea where or when I'll be competing but if I can get a decent run under my belt I guess I would make the effort.

Few question's about designing a run though;

I was given the tip to break it down into sections so I don't go mad because to be fair I was getting annoyed at missing tricks then having to restart

I'm also wondering about leeway as I was finding the the run I was building was changing slightly each time. How much leeway does the average freestyler give themselves in a run and does this combat error?

Lastly, I don't want to make it all easy tricks, do you go for broke? I'm guessing there is a balance between difficult tricks and easier ones for consistency but when is best to place that? I gather that as the run progresses you become more tired and the margin for error increases so what's the best formula for having an effective run?

Cheers

Haven't been feeling it recently

Im not sure why but if i dont feel like im progressing i get frustrated with my skating. Ive been playing catch up recently because over winter I lost a lot of tricks, specifically fingerflips. One thing that has been coming along is footwork, slowly starting to make some progress there but I feel a bit stuck tbh.

I gave up street skating in my twenties for the exact same reason. The progression slowed down and I eventually lost interest. Not gonna make the same mistake twice though.

I think its time I started looking up tutorials to have a hack at. My favourite thing to do skating is learn new tricks. I like the whole picking the lock experience, I guess I've just ran out of ideas lately.

You're all eating buttered toast wrong

The normal convention is to pick the piece of toast up and guide it into your mouth as is. I'm telling you all now that this is the wrong way to eat buttered toast, or any kind of spread for that matter.

I have a tried and tested method that I have stuck to for many years now, it has never failed me and has always been two times more enjoyable than what society has been lead to do.

If you turn the piece of toast upside down, then take a bite. You will find greater taste results and I'll explain the science behind this.

Your tongue is on the bottom of your mouth, when the buttered side is down the tastebuds are instantly met with the flavour of butter. This increases the levels of enjoyment and makes chewing the toast a more satisfying experience.

So please adhere to my advice. Try it and you will be amazed at what happens

Took up skateboarding again at the start of the pandemic and its been one of the best things thats ever happened to me (besides my kids).

I started from where I left off, street skating. A year in i began to take freestyle more seriously by buying a freestyle setup. Haven't looked back since.

Things got ugly throughout that time. My toxic relationship ended, I was overweight and it felt like I was starting from scratch. In that 3-4 years I made a heap of progression, with my skating, musically and also just general health etc.

Tidied it up a fair bit too, it was really muddy and sloppy before. Hadn't made anything I like for a while so I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out

Teamwork makes the dream work. Collaborated with a couple of facebook friends and I'm really pleased with the results. Jennifer Ort (JennyVennom) a producer/singer from Maryland USA laid down some vocals on a track I made. It definitely wouldn't be of this quality without the mixing and mastering skills of Michal Bebenek (Prosper Mind), who is Polish living in Aberdeen. Written and composed by myself and I'm happy with how we all had a vision and worked together fairly. This is my first Electronic track I've made and tbh It just worked.
