What’s your favorite “not meta” deck?
I’m having a hayday with Mega Slowbro. Sometimes it sucks. When it sucks, it SUCKS. But sometimes it’s *magical* because it knocks out babies / early evos / puppies like nobody’s business (if it gets going fast enough).
I love my dumb son <3
Idk why I can’t attach a photo
Kind of confused - they say these are from Motion and Glitter but they’re wax? Also, does it look like it needs new stuff?
Concept: Puppy Pile + Guard Dog Visage?
The deck list is bad right now but the concept is this:
Puppy Pile, but have 1 puppy that can tank a hit or two PLUS Stoutland can stall attacks by making them cost 1 additional energy.
Problem: even adding 1 stoutland adds 2 cards (either herdier+stoutland or candy+stoutland) AND even though stoutland can use Puppy Pile with celebi, it doesn’t actually count towards the Pile-on effect.
HOWEVER - if there’s enough puppies it might not matter if you miss one in the pile effect so long as you can keep your charged up dog (a recurring issue I keep running into is that the first one ready to attack will be one-shotted, and then the rest won’t be ready in time).
Do any of you think you could tweak this deck to work a bit better? Rn it only works bc it’s basically puppy pile in sub-optimal form.
FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS IN MATERIALS ON RUBBER SNAKES?????
New Lamp, new problems! Wax sticking to sides
Preemptively: I love my new lamp, the painted globe is SO pretty. Even if she’s got some scuffs and dents that I’m hiding.
I got this lamp on Facebook marketplace. Online the images made it look pretty new but when I got there it was a little kid and it definitely looked… shaken, maybe? There was a bunch of small flecks of wax sticking to the sides and the spring that heats up was stuck to the side halfway up. Something was up with it. I didn’t want to deny him the sale though because he was very excited bc apparently he’s saving up to buy a videogame or something. I figured he’d enjoy my $20 more than I will, and besides I will enjoy learning how to fix the lamp.
Some parts of the paint on the outside of the globe are scraped off and there’s scratches on the back side (luckily I’ll only be looking at this from one angle), and the cap is dented. But she’s still got life in her.
THE PRIMARY ISSUE: in this image the lamp has been warmed for 5 hours. Other lamps of the same size and brand next to it are at peak flow. This is not on a dimmer. The wax has started to come back together, which is good! But it still isn’t flowing. It’s liquidy definitely, but not actually going anywhere.
So what’s up with her? Is the wax bad?
Can I get a species ID on these evil men (VA, USA, behind my fridge)
Posted a few days ago feeling hopeless but have started the regiment suggested by the sticky. We’ve got Alpine WSG and sticky traps (my boyfriend insisted on spreading ditomacous earth everywhere too, not my favorite but no me telling him “maybe don’t” won’t work lol - also spelled it wrong bc I’m not suggesting anyone use it but I can’t post if I mention it).
First night with the sticky traps we caught like 5 in each trap around the fridge, 0 everywhere else. Seems they live around the fridge which makes sense based on what this sub says.
Is this a German roach? Or another species? If something else, does that change what we need to do?
Thanks. I feel a little less helpless about the roach thing, we’re fighting it.
Sorry for the terrible pics, Apple sucks and my phone is supposed to take gReAt piCtUrEs but it’s literally butt and ass. My last phone had a better camera than this…
Can I get an ID on this roach species? (Behind the fridge, VA, USA)
Realized we had roaches, have been following advice on the r/GermanRoaches subreddit (their stuff applies to more than German roaches). Put down sticky traps and caught what I think are adults, usually we’ve only seen babies.
Who are these criminals. Who is this man in my house
my dumb as rocks deck
I think this only works because absolutely no one uses Vanilluxe so they don’t realize next turn I’m pulling out 120 damage. “Works” is probably generous.
new to the roach game. Immediately discouraged.
before we even begin fighting them they’re already off the bat going to take something from me.
I cannot keep isopods/springtails or my other invert pets if we have roaches. There’s just no way to fight an infestation while raising insects/arachnids. It just doesnt work. There will be poison contaminations in the enclosures somehow. They will get in to the terrariums.
So I will have to abandon my hobby.
But we have the next issue: we have cats. And they will eat or chew anything. I’m so worried about them getting poisoned.
I feel so distraught. I’m the one that pushed for us to move, I’m the one who chose this place, ironically because I wanted to get back into my invertebrate hobby. Now we’re in an apartment where the floors scuttle and skitter with hundreds of tiny dirty feet.
what do I do from here? If we’re in an apartment this will never fully go away.
Acquired Taco Bell chair but feel like it’s not… retro taco-bell-y enough. Do we color the metal?
Don’t look at the surroundings we literally just moved and I derailed everything we were doing to go buy this chair
I remember Taco Bell from my childhood being bring purples and teals. My boyfriend can powder coat the metal if we wanted to give it a good solid color (this is sturdier than spray paint, easier to clean and also personally I like the color results better).
This will be a sort-of-silly Christmas gift for a friend.
Should we leave it as is? Coat the metal classic Taco Bell purple? Or teal?
Show me your “Whatever’s comfortable for you man” pics
idea from u/skylar274’s comment on another post
Pls show pics of tarantulas doing things where it’s like… weird but… I guess if you like it yeah sure man ???
Finally - all is well in the world
THE SAGA IS COMPLETE
I feel at peace with my lava lamps now.
First photo is now, and the last photo is where we started! Changes: dyed water chartreuse on the first lamp, swapped bases, filtered liquid on the second lamp and topped up with distilled water.
I know it’s little things but I feel proud of myself haha.
Help!! I filtered my lamp and now I’m missing too much liquid!
I filtered my lava lamp with a Sawyer mini filter (the kind that’s made of those tiny tiny tubes) and now I’m missing a lot of liquid. I figured I’d lose SOME, but this seems like a lot. What do I do? How do I top it up without messing up the balance? Help!!!
I was made aware of these today and I am now Happy (made by @wickytack on insta)
Sigh. We are 0 for 2 on Amazon Delivering Clear Lamps.
I tried to avoid having to filter the liquid by returning and reordering the lamp but I think this one is actually foggier.
I really want to keep it since I wanted the chrome base (which I stole and gave to my other lamp).
I’m worried with filtration. I am very worried I will be introducing bacteria inside the lamp and that it won’t just be as simple as putting it through the filter. I’ve got 2 cats, my kitchen is the “lab” and I’ve never been the most fastidious person. How do you mitigate the issues with bacteria/etc when filtering the liquid?
