Green Firstborn heart: Dark Angels tactical squads

Green Firstborn heart: Dark Angels tactical squads

Versatile, based on the heavy and special weapons chosen and the equipment of the veteran sergeant could be wall of fire, troops for controlling objectives, bait to block advances and much more, at an absolutely honest cost in points. <3

Oldhammer feuds

That book, that miniature and this photo, are separated by 18 years each. How many memories... But above all, I remember that the Lion beat the Wolf at least twice. 😅😂😂

Con le regole attuali si usano ancora le referce cards o ci sono codex come nel 40k?

Sarò ingenuo ma a me piacevano tanto per qualche motivo, proprio come oggetto

The Space Marine book was Gold

As for the rule set as as a mine of lore, for many years my only reference about the Horus Heresy, the common kind of Imperial buildings and the functioning of a power armour. The Dreadnought in the picture is about 20 years younger ☺️

Little nostalgia gift: 90's White Dwarfs

Thank you all for the heartfelt responses to the post that clarified the general feeling about the Midhammer era. I would have a lot of material to share but I don't want to flood the subreddit. So this is my simple gift for you all :)

What makes Warhammer 40k 3rd, 4th and 5th editions considered as a single specific era?

I just got to try the 2nd edition but actively played the next 3 and it's just a coincidence that this matches what is considered midhammer by many. The second still tried to be close to a traditional Wargame in its mechanics, (in many ways more realistic) but despite the detail and the abundance of rules, it was then less varied, both as for the army lists and as a play development, because some units and combos were really superior. The following ones maintained a very similar layout and the aesthetics and lore seemed mature and established. Having no experience beyond the 5th edition, I ask you: what has changed after that was so evident? The aesthetics of the models, the temporal setting, the game system? What do you miss more? Thank you in advance 🤗

Space Marine scouts gold standard (my opinion only)

A period in which the skill of a master sculptor like Jes Goodwin and already a high technical level of metal miniature molding were still combined. The faces of the models of those years remain unsurpassed for me, especially considering the size. What do you think about?

It may not be gray but it still hurts: epic scale pile of shame

Maybe I'm too old and blind, but suddenly I got a mad desire to reduce my pile, starting with the first box ever, bought in 1989.

Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn from the large scale schirmish game

Still one if not The best Warhammer 40000 saga. At that time, having so large models was a blast and the contemporary publication of Dan Abnett's novels was an exceptional push to make the most of this controversial and fascinating character.

My Deathwing has strong roots

Strange how the story that made me start the collection of my Dark Angels has somehow been put aside but resists oblivion even among the new generations.

From the archive that I'm publishing 🤗

Still struggling to decide correct dimension of the pictures and sections organization, not easy to balance weight and readability through desktop and mobile. Currently focusing on plain clean pictures, I would add something more cinematic as a mixed gallery. Comment and advices are welcome 😊

Lightpainting photography: Dark Angels Land Raider

Photographic technique of lightpainting applied to miniatures. The model does not have any type of LED. The Land Raider is photographed in the dark in long exposure and selectively illuminated with a small RGB flashlight

Know the origin

A little detective game: who can find the first documented example of a Sammael on jetbike painted with different colors than those of the Eavy Metal team box art? 🤓

Willing cousins

They sent him to train with our Ravenwing, sadly he failed to reach some standards. We are returning him with a courtesy ride :'D

old cousins

in 1997 a friend involved me in some Space Hulk games with home rules: one terminator each, in collaboration, against a DM who used the Genesteelers. These are some of his models that I later inherited. Soon after, we started an army of Dark Angels together and although he quit, the army grew for another 14 years. But that way of playing Space Hulk was great.

old brother in green

I led them into battle for 14 years, then they rested for another 14. Now I'm celebrating them with a small virtual museum. But I read that the Lion is back and so... Reporting to duty!
