The art of our game right now.

Phew. No, seriously. Whenever I think it can't get better. Our artists are from fine arts background so I suppose that's how the art goes beyond the conventional video game art. Besides, this is genuinely what I adore about indie games. It's generally a passion project. The art, music, the story has so much heart in it. I'm so excited for our game to be able to express itself too.

Our indie game APPA- a narrative heavy simultaneous card battler!

Like the title says, we're making a card game! But it heavily focuses on the story and the cards are super plot relevant and all that is revealed as the plot progresses. We've decided to not do a a turned based card game but something simultaneous and in real time. We need it right and tensed. Genuinely so excited. It's like so much work to make a game. The art, the design, the music but it's super fulfilling too. No slop on this side. Genuinely super hyped about this project and I want to share it with as many people as I can.

Recently dropped our trailer soundtrack since people loved it so much and we're also attending Gamescom! Cologne here we come! We're gonna be at India Pavilion Hall 10.2, Aisle D, Stand 047g/049g in case anyone is attending Gamescom and wanna try this out for themselves!

I'll drop the steam link below in case anyone wants to keep track! Thanks for your time! :D

Our game Appa's early concept art vs how it's starting to look now

Loooot of thought went into the creation of this creature inside the Kalash (metal pot). Wanted to make something disgusting and grotesque. The inspiration was a cluster of wriggling, fleshy earthworms in the rain. Wanted it to look somewhat human yet nothing like a person while the motifs remain relevant to the plot of our game. Very pleased with how the final output looks. Open to feedback and thoughts!

Also about our game, it's a narrative heavy simultaneous card battler. Emphasis on the plot. Two siblings dealing with the aftermath of the death of their father and the dysfunctional family dynamics. Very hyped for our vision to take shape.

Released the trailer soundtrack for our game APPA

Hey, hey. Making a very narrative heavy simultaneous card battler. It's more like the card part heavily serves the plot. Two siblings dealing with the death of their father and their dysfunctional family dynamics.

Aaaaand just released the trailer soundtrack of mv game APPA because several people asked. It was extremely fulfilling tbh. Making this in house from the scratch. So much work goes into this omg. It also feels great that people resonated with something that captures the mood of our game. I'll put the link in the comment section in case anvone's curious about the music and the game and I'd love feedback.

Just released the trailer soundtrack for our game APPA

It was so pleasantly surprising to get such positive reactions on the trailer we dropped and the number of requests we got to drop the full soundtrack and just did that. Made all that in house, from the scratch. This game we're making is super narrative heavy and a simultaneous card battler but trust, all of this is important to the plot. Very pleased that the music captures the mood of our game quite well. Putting the trailer link in comments if interested!

Released our game Appa's trailer soundtrack.

Released the trailer soundtrack. I wasn't really going to release a separate soundtrack yet but it was such a pleasant surprise with several people asking for it. I'm sooooo hyped. Made this in house from scratch. I'm genuinely so proud of this and it captures the tone of the game so well. Human made art, human made tunes. I feel like a broken record but I'm sooo pleased with how it turned out.

APPA - Heat Death Studios - A story focused real time simultaneous card battler.

From a guick game jam prototype to something more ambitious. We're building a surreal, narrative-heavy card battler but there are absolutelv no turns. Very story focused so that the card battles serves plot points and progression.

Still heavily in development, but we'd love to hear your thoughts on the concept! Anv feedback is welcome! We dropped a trailer recently.

Here's the steam link if anyone's curious.

And here's the trailer!

APPA- a real time simultaneous card battler.

We're building a surreal, narrative-heavy card battler but there are absolutelv no turns. It has some elements of a deck builder but it's its own thing, I'd say. Definitely builds on the existing systems of card battlers to be something different. It's tight and tensed.

Very story focused so that the card battles serves plot points and progression. Still heavily in development, but we'd love to hear your thoughts on the concept! Anv feedback is welcome! Here's the link of anyone's curious!

Making a real time simultaneous card battler!

Hey guys. We're making a narrative heavy card battler which serves the plot progression. It's called APPA and it's about two siblings dealing with the grief and complex family dynamics after their father passed away. It's surreal and blurs the lines of reality and dreams. We're so excited and it's still in development and hopefully we can release a playtest by next month!

Just dropped our trailer a while back!

From a quick game jam prototype to this, it has been an elaborate gamemaker project. We're building a surreal, narrative-heavy card battler but there are absolutely no turns. It’s fast, it’s weird, and it’s finally coming together. Still heavily in development, but we'd love to hear your thoughts on the concept! Any feedback is welcome.
