Twist I never saw coming : The Others(2001)

If you are someone who is deeply into horror thrillers, this is a perfect movie for you. Didn't expect much while it started but it takes only one scene to change the whole script. You will enjoy the movie watching second time after you have already seen the twist once. If anyone has similar recommendations, do share here.

Plot in short : While awaiting the return of her husband from WWII, a devout mother secludes her photosensitive children in a manor — but soon suspects it's haunted.

Data Science Job field in BD & what to target?

As someone who has learnt SQL, Excel, Power BI, ML algorithms , data processing & EDA related skills, I am seeking advice for what to learn next or in depth & which job role should I target in BD as there are not numerous data science/analysis based jobs available rn? I can give 1-1.5 years more for skills as there is still a lot of time till my graduation & I'm eager to work as ML engineer right after graduation. Any advice from seniors will be appreciated. TIA

Just finished reading THE SILENT PATIENT

This must be one of the most anticipated books I had in my list for 2 years now & I finally finished it. & I'm not sure how to feel about this!

First of all, the hype around this book must be a little too much if you are a regular mystery/thriller reader. You may have guessed the characters you think are innocent have some secrets too.

Does the book seem unfinished at some parts? I'm not talking about the ending but the book could have had more chapters regarding Gabriel's part. Why did he do that to his wife? We only got Theo & Kathy's side but never Gabriel's. I wanted to know some of his thoughts too.

Also, how much professionalism was shown in Theo's character? IDK why but at some places it felt out of logic how he explored Paul & Alicia's childhood life as if he were a detective! I mean it was the part I was sus!

Question:

  1. How did Alicia kept the diary hidden all these years until theo came?
  2. Did she deliberately hide her diary, at the end, behind the specific painting so that Jean could find it? Because he was obsessed with her artwork!
  3. Pushing Alicia to therapy - was it Gabriel's genuine concern or deliberate action to move her away?
  4. Theo multiple time mentioned "I want to help you" - was this a mockery/ his manipulative need to control her or actual help?

I just expected a lot from this book but there is a lot of questions around the plot! I hope I can gather some answers here!

Why are they ruining Simran's character?

Simran was comparing Neel with Arya & saying how Arya takes care of Anu & fulfills her wishes!! Like why is this conversation even needed? Simran is much more sensible than Anu (imo) & she never really had any problem with Neel's status!! Are producers intentionally ruining her character?

Is it permissable for women to shave/cut nails in these Dhul hijjah days?

So I know it's not permissible to cut or shave hair in these 10 days. But to pray, women must clean & purify themselves after menstruation stops . So what to do at this point?

Junaid Khan (flop or hit)?

Will Junaid be able to pull out massive stardom like his father? The stats of his recent two movies are disappointing. His only good work was Maharaj & the other two movie scripts had no good in it. Personal opinion,he shouldn't try for romance/drama genre. Action or detective type genres will suit him.

I was in a less renowned university (let's say A)till this January and moved to another university(B) in March which is known as one of the top 2 universities in my city. The problem is I left A happily as I am going to somewhere better(B),where tuition fees are less. But I'm totally in deep anxiety now being here, missing my old friends, old daily routine, the familiar road I used to travel along. I am literally hating B now for no good reason so much so that I cried the night before orientation day. Now I am not understanding, is this feeling normal and will I get over it soon? I have this urge to back to A and also my sister studies in A, she is telling me the A university authority is upgrading a lot of things and if I had stayed it would have been better for me. I am truly exhausted travelling for 3 hours everyday to reach B campus & I'm not watching anything bright in my future. My question is-

How do I detach this feeling for A so that I can be happy at B? Also is this just a feeling when you leave a familiar place & eventually get over it...or does it stay with you? Forever?

I am someone who went from extremely passionate about CSE, studying it 6 months+ and then went downhill, depressed, the desperation to change my major to some pure subject so that I can at least have some time for skill development. But is it same for everyone in BD? Do you think it's somehow a good decision to take any other subject related to tech field but not CSE, and then give all your time for self learning skills. & if yes, which subject will you choose?

I don't want to share anything deep but I really want to know how did you guys overcome the so called senior junior friendship which is basically Ragging in my pov! I got into public so that I can save my semester fees for other stuffs and I really have no option to go back to private uni! Like if I even say a word at home,I will be kicked out because everyone is so frustrated with me. I am just a person who loves to be at their own space,no drama,no tel mara to seniors but these Adu bhais from public uni have made a rule "salam na dile campus e obostha kharap kore dibe" & this is just an example cz I don't want to share the terrific ones. Can't believe I have to go through like this for my whole uni life. Just give me some advice. How to become invisible in my own department, focus on my own thing and avoid these seniors without making them feel bad. I am so tired !!!!!!!
