Why do you think eye contact is uncomfortable?

Complete curiosity, no judgement. For those who find eye contact uncomfortable, why do you think it feels that way? ( rational, irrational reasons)

Productivity is a skill which means it can be taught

I often see many posts on lack of energy, concentration, etc. I am going to share what has worked for me. Productivity starts with perception. What do I consider a productive behavior, what is my expectation of productivity and is it realistic? Discipline, positive self-talk, and consistency is part two. Our phones are the biggest robbers of productivity. It distracts, dopes us with dopamine, and information overloading leading to mental fatigue/anxiety/depression. Our brains were not designed to manage the amount of information that our phones contain and like a drug we get defensive and reactive over them. Lastly, changing the dialogue from " I have to" to " I get to" for tasks. Reflection daily is key to reach our goals: " what went well today and why did it go well?"

What life skills did you learn the MOST in your generation?

As a millennial female, I feel communication, financial literacy, and problem-solving were present in school and home environment. I am curious what other generations experienced/perception?

Tell me about a time you felt a genuine connection with a stranger?

I am interested in our experiences and perceptions around connection. Ever been in a grocery store, at the gym/event, waiting somewhere and connect wth a unexpected stranger? Possibly a quick conversation that left a internal impact? Love to hear any experiences/answers :)

Alternative words to "trigger (ing)?"

I am looking for a more creative way to say "trigger" or "triggering" that makes sense. My grad program used "cat hair" (meh) and AI is lame. I thought as a community we could do better. suggestions?

Millennials and Social Comparison

In 2008 the "like" button was publically introduced on SM ( after years of protesting against because of psychological concerns/effects). Even though we experience it then/now, I have much gratitude that the start of our SM experience was more about sharing and inclusion than comparison, anxiety, and competition. ( there is a lot of research on this ) Anyone else?

Has anyone else thought two different clients with similar parallels could benefit from learning from one another?

Many of my clients are craving connection, chronic illness, etc. I have probably 6 clients ( two groups of 3) with similar diagnosis/presenting problems but completely different skills strengths, and experiences. I feel some could really be a resource to each other. has anyone else had this experience?

What "human" and life skill is needed most in your environment?

I am curious in learning what skills others need/ what their environment did not provide.Just to name a few below...

Human skills: Communication, boundaries, emotion regulation, etc.

Life skills: problem solving, decision making, financial/health literacy

Not sure about others, but my environment certainly did not teach me to identify a feeling before deciding how to react to it.

What is a topic that you have more than "just general" knowledge in?

The topic maybe work related, passion, experience hobby.. something that feels easy for you to talk about? I feel our diversity of interests is a beautiful thing and curious what others are?
