The Warforged Lions are an successor chapter to the Iron Hands. They are know for their Heroism and their strict honor Codex.
History: The exact Founding of the Warforged Lions is unknown ,due all Information being lost, but experts say it could have been between the 15th and 17th. They were assigned the Planet "Zanta IIX" as an Homeworld. After their first real Battels it already became clear how different they were from their Progenitor Chapter. Where the Iron Hands had Cold Logic, the Warforged Lions had strong Emotions and an strong Sense for Heroism.
Most Important Battels pre Indomitus
The Battle of Hive Skyfall: The first Big Battel the Chapter fought was on the Planet Teceran in the Hive City Skyfall. The Ork Warboss Trotzek Dakkada had besieged it for months, and the Supplies where running low. Luckily the 4th Company of the Warforged Lions Arrived and under the Command of their Captain Ardok Varen they where able to push back the Orks. Dakkada and Varen had an Duel like no other. Varen only won by cutting of Dakkadas Right arm, but Dakkada survived and promised revenge.
The Molten Iron Crusade The Warforged Lions were send out to besiege the Planet Fortaris of the Emperor's Children. The 1st and 3rd Company of the Warforged Lions went on the Crusade and had some great successes in the first few Battels against Cultists. But as soon as the Emperor's Children Warband responded the advance started to slow down and the War slowly turned into an Trench war. The Captain of the 3rd Company decided to use the arrogance of the Emperor's Children against them. He strategically placed an Weak spot in the Trench system and as soon as the Emperor's Children used it and pushed into the Loyal Territory the Warforged Lions encircled the Warband and killed them all. After this Victory the Rest of the Crusade was won and was celebrated as one of the biggest Victory for the Warforged Lions, even though the losses were so high that the 3rd Company wasn't operational for 6 Decades.
The Fall of Zanta IIX 300 Years After his defeat on Teceran the Warboss Trotzek Dakkada was ready to get his Revenge. He lead an Waghh against Zanta IIX and quickly destroyed nearly all of the defenses. Ardok Varen who was now the Chapter Master lead the defenses against the Waghh but after 2 Years of Fighting he knew they would last longer. In addition to that the Weapons used in the War had make the Planet unstable and he knew the Planet was Doomed no matter who won. So he ordered all Ships to evacuat while he and the first Company hold the Orks back for a little bit longer. Five of the Companys ignored his orders and attacked the Orks in their rage. Varen found Dakkada and nobody knows what happened in the duel but when Varen was found by an Tactical Squad Dakkada was Dead and Varen was extremely wounded. After their Escape Varen was put into an ancient Contemptor Dreadnought, and reworked the entire Chapter Organisation because of the Heavy losses of the 5 Companys. He also wrote the Iron Codex, an Book which exactly explained how to not get into the Rage the 5 Companys fell into. He also left the Post of Chapter Master
Era Indomitus: The Warforged Lions are still active as an Fleet based Chapter in the Era Indomitus and already got Primaris Support. Lead by their new Chapter Master Kronos Basol they strike fear into all the hearts of the Emperor
War cry: To the Forges of Battel!
Relics:
The Mountain Breaker: An two handed Relic Powerhammer currently wielded by Basil the Chapter Master
The Iron Banners: One of the most Important things for each Company is their Iron Banner. These banners worn by the Ancients of the Company are sacred relics who are whispered to be made out of other banners from the Days of the Horus Heresy. Each Marine would do anything to protect the banner of their company since they are such important to them. But not only the Banners but also the staffs they are mounted on are relics. Some even have Iron Halos mounted on the Top to protect the Banner even Better in the Fire of Battle.
Organisation: The Warforged Lions got an totally new Organization after the fall of Zanta IIX. From that point on the Chapter was devided into 5 Companys. Each Company was made up of: 1 Command Squad 2 Veteran Squads 8 Battelline Squads 4 Close Support Squads 4 Fire Support Squads 2 Scout Squads
Chapter Specific Units:
The Iron Chaplains: These highly religious Hybrids of Tech Marines and Chaplains are the foundation of the Chapters Vehicle Support. They are tasked with motivating their Battels Brothers in the Battle while also making Field Repairs on Tanks.
The Hammer Guard: These are the Personal Body Guard of the Chapter Master. They all wield Terminator Armor, Double handed Powerhammers and Iron Halos. Their Task is to form the Spear Point with the Chapter Master in every major assault.
Characters:
Ardok Varen: Once he was the Chapter Master, now he is the highest Dreadnought in the Entire chapter. In his Contemptor Armor he is still a menace on the battlefield but also he is the Biggest Keeper of Knowledge in the Entire Chapter.
Kronos Basol: Kronos Basol leads often on the Front and he was one of the First of the Chapter who crossed the Rubicon Primaris. He wields his Hammer "Mountain Breaker" like no other, and he is known for leading always from the front.
I really hope you liked this First Part and I would be happy to hear some of your ideas for the next Chapter
So I thought about starting an series where I would post one Homebrew Chapter each 3 Days for 15 Days. I am doing that partially because I have Holliday and have nothing to do, but also because I want to exercise writing Homebrews. I also would love to incorporate your Ideas so if you have ideas you can always send me an message or comment under the Posts. Now the Only question is if the M0ds would allow this. I already sent them an message but since I haven't gotten any reply I wanted to ask you if you think this would be ok.
If it is okay then my next post is gonna be the first Chapter
I am currently thinking about restarting Imperial Fists and I have saved up enough money for one Combat Patrol. Was thinking about the Dark Angel one
Decided to expand to 2000. Fortis KT goes into the CB
I am currently thinking about getting into charcaradons and wanted to ask how to make an Thematic list for them? What are some good Units and thematic Detachments?
I don't know why but feel like I see them Quite often in Army's or Lists
Organization: The Chapter is Organized in the Classic Company System. The only real difference is that sometimes two of the Battle line Squads are switched for one additional Close Support and one Fire Support Squad. In addition to that each Captain has an Bodyguard of 6 Marines where he can decide on his own which Role they might have.
1st Company: The First Company has surprisingly Many Terminator Suits, being able to put more than half of the company in Terminator Suits.
2nd Company The Second Company is known for their Tactical Versatility in Defense as well as in Assaults
3rd Company: The 3rd Company is made up only from Gravis and Centurion Suits (specifically modified so Primaris Marines would Fit). In addition to that they also have the Most Dreadnoughts out of all Battle Companys
4th Company The 4th Companyn ,also called is tasked in Patroling the Castellum System and is specialized in Boarding Actions and Void Warfare.
5th Company The 5th Company is specialized in Mechanized Warfare and Fast Attack Hit and Run. They have an unusual High Amount of Outrider Squads and Land Speeders
Other Companies The Reserve Companys are all nearly Identical to the Codex Astartes.
Honor Guards:
Paladin Guard:
The Paladin Guard is the Personal Guard of the Chapter Master. It is always made up from 15 Marines, 5 of which are always in Terminator Armor. To become one of the Paladins you have to at least have to had served in the 1 Company as well as at least an Veteran Seargant. In addition to that you have to be excellent in Both Marksmanship and Dueling. If you have all these Skills you have the Option to start the Challenges. In the final One of these you will have to withstand attacks from All the Paladins and have to answer Questions why you deserve to be an Paladin.

So now I have 6 Bladeguard left and don't know as what to Build Them/Proxy Them
Steel Templars
The Steel Templars are an Succesessor Chapter of the Imperial Fists. They specialize in Sword Fighting and Heavy Infantry Assaults, as well as in Defense. Their Armory is known for the Amount of Dreadnoughts and Gravis Armor as well as for the Amounts of Power Sword they have.
History: The Steel Templars were Founded in the Ultima Founding to secure an important Planet in the Segmentum Tempestus. This Planet was called Castellum, and was their Homeworld ever since. The First Chapter Master of the Chapter was Argon Worol. He was an Veteran of the Imperial Fists who has just crossed the Rubicon Primaris.
The Assault on Orank: The Campaign to reclaim the Planet Orank was the First Campaign the Chapter ever fought. The 3rd and the 5th Company were sent to Reclaim the World from the Orks. In one Final Assault which would be later know as "The Assault on Dead Ork's Hill" the Captain of the 5th Company , Brog Asten, had an Duel with the Orkboss and killed him. Through an Explosion of an Ork Warbus the Captain of the 3rd Company was severely wounded and had to be put into an Rerdemptor Dread
The Siege on Vardon: The World of Vardon had recently fallen to the Chaos Gods and was an threat to Castellum. The 1st, 2nd, 5th, and the 10th Company Attacked the Planet. The Landing was an disaster since the Drop pods Malfunctioned and the Forces of the Steel Templars had to retreat to the Mountains. From there they actually managed to destroy the Enemy Forces who tried to followed them and where able to regain the Plantet. Even though the Steel Templars won the 2nd Company lost 80% Procent of it's Forces and all the other also had extremely high casualties.
Color Scheme The Battle Brother are clad in Silver Armor with Golden trim, while their right Arm is in an Dark Red
3rd Company: The 3rd Company is made up only from Gravis and Centurion Suits (specifically modified so Primaris Marines would Fit)
I am currently Starting my Homebrew chapter and want to Play them with Black Templar Rules. I want to maybe buy myself the Combat Patrol and want to Turn the Initiates from the Crusader Squad into Intecessors. How many Bolters are there in the Box and what would be an good way to get the Bolters with Chains in an Other way?
I am currently working on my own one, but can't come up with an Idea for the Color Scheme. I'd love to maybe see an Picture of your whole Army if you have one, and feel free to also tell some Lore
The Chapter is divided into five Warden Wings, each fulfilling a specific role in war. While each Wing maintains its own traditions and command structure, they are never intended to fight alone. The Wardens of the Bastion believe that victory is achieved through the combined strength of all Wings acting as a single fortress-army.
First Warden Wing – Wardens of the Keep
"The Keep stands. Therefore, we stand."
The Wardens of the Keep are the veterans and guardians of the Chapter's most sacred traditions. They are entrusted with the defense of the Bastion itself and often serve as the Chapter Master's personal force. When the enemy launches a counterattack against the Bastion, it is the Wardens of the Keep who hold the line.
Role: Veteran assault forces Defense of the Bastion Command cadre and honor guards Breaking enemy spearheads
Typical Units: Terminators Bladeguard Veterans Sternguard Veterans Aggressors Land Raiders
Second Warden Wing – Stone Wardens
"Stone endures."
The Stone Wardens form the bulk of the Chapter's fighting strength. They are the warriors who establish battle lines, seize objectives, and hold territory once it has been won.
Role: Main battle line Defensive operations Garrison duties Sustained engagements
Typical Units: Intercessors Heavy Intercessors Hellblasters Tactical Marines Dreadnought support
Third Warden Wing – Siege Wardens
"Every wall has a weakness."
The Siege Wardens are masters of destruction. They specialize in reducing enemy fortifications, armored formations, and hardened defensive positions.
Role: Siege warfare Heavy fire support Vehicle warfare Breaching operations
Typical Units: Devastators Eradicators Centurions Vindicators Repulsor Executioners Combat Doctrine
Fourth Warden Wing – Shadow Wardens
"We arrive before the dawn."
The Shadow Wardens are the eyes and ears of the Chapter. Operating weeks or even months ahead of the main force, they gather intelligence, sabotage defenses, and prepare the battlefield for the arrival of the Bastion. Among all the Wings, they are considered the most secretive and are rumored to preserve many ancient traditions inherited from their Dark Angels lineage.
Role: Reconnaissance Infiltration Sabotage Target acquisition Assassination missions
Typical Units: Scouts Infiltrators Incursors Eliminators Reivers
Fifth Warden Wing – Storm Wardens
"Swift as the storm. Unyielding as the wall."
The Storm Wardens are the Chapter's rapid-response force. While the rest of the Chapter advances like a fortress, the Storm Wardens move ahead, exploiting breakthroughs, hunting fleeing enemies, and responding to threats before they can endanger the Bastion. Many of the Chapter's most daring warriors serve within their ranks.
Role: Fast attack operations Flanking maneuvers Pursuit of retreating forces Rapid reinforcement Deep strike assaults
Typical Units: Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs Outriders Inceptors Storm Speeders Vanguard Veterans
The Chapter are the Wardens of the Bastion. They specialize in Defense and Heavy Assaults. They are an Dark Angel Sucessor (fleet based) and always attack as one big Group, except for the Shadow Wardens which are an specialized Wing of them who's job it is to always be ahead of the rest of the Chapter and do Scout and Sneaky Stuff.
The Special Thing the Wardens of the Bastion is that their main Ship ,just named the Bastion, is also their Fortress Monistary. When they attack an Planet they drop it down like an Drop Pod and it acts as their Base of Operation. It looks like an Medival Fortress. After they took an Planet they use massive chains on Drop Pods, which they fire from the other Ships of their Fleet, to get the Fortress back to Space.
The Chapter is organized 4 in So-called Warden-Wings. All the Warden-Wings are also organized into 3 Warden Companys. All the Warden Wings are organized in Warden Companys. All the Warden Wings are different sizes.
This is only the first design of this Chapter so if you have so Feedback or additional Ideas I would like to hear them
