44% finished with Amur..when am I supposed to hate it?

Before I got to Amur, I'd built it up as this monstrous, borderline miserable map that was absolutely going to break me. From all I observed in this community - along with numerous YouTube videos - it had a notorious reputation (rightfully so) for being the hardest map in SnowRunner..and I went in expecting the worst after easy breezy Wisconsin.

But I've been genuinely loving every moment. This is peak Snowrunner and I'll roll over five times + die on this hill. The deep snow & ice, gnarly terrains, insane routes, and constant fuel management make everything feel like an expedition. I love that it has forced me to slow down and think about what I'm doing, more than ever. I love that I'm forced to truck in the Tatarin on an evacuator because good luck finding a fuel station where you need it.

To my Dear Northern Aegis Installation, I will never complain about another map's difficulty after what you're putting me through. You've 100% earned my respect as the toughest region I’ve played to date, bar none. Some may call it nightmarish, brutal, etc. but a map/challenges like this has only deepened my love for the game. The routes are bonkers, the terrain in some portions has illicited an audible "WTF is this?!" from me..a few times.

That said, I can't help but feel that this is where Amur's true beauty lies..Is it frustrating as hell at times? Absolutely. But honestly, I think that’s what makes Amur so damn satisfying to me. Every brutal challenge that you break through to the other side, is what makes it that much more rewarding. And after everything it’s put me through, I can confidently say Amur has easily become one of my favorite regions in the game to date.

How I'm getting XP since the challenges glitched out

Hands down the best spot I've found on Golden Ridge Reserve for diamond lake trout (included marker on map). Sure, other fish are much faster catches but I've really been enjoying the fight these lake trout put up.

Setup - 1/0 jig with a worm, chum with pro performance, jigging all the way to the bottom then reel at 2x speed. Guaranteed gold and above!

My Triumph Tiger has been a terrible experience - how's your AT treating you?

TLDR is it's been a basket case of issues since day one. 35k miles on it since August of 2024, meticulous maintenance only to have these unavoidable issues pop up (all were covered by warranty, mind you).

I'm currently on the market for a do-it-all bike and have landed on either an Africa Twin or Tenere 700 (with the AT being preferred for the wind protection & highway riding). After owning my Triumph I've come to realize that reliability is absolutely my #1 priority for my motorcycle, since it's also my daily driver.

I'd love to hear from high mileage owners here how their experiences have been with their Africa Twins. Anything from unexpected issues, to ease of maintenance, if it can deal with drops off-road, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for stopping by 👍🏽

Goodbye (with love) Wisconsin! Officially out of cheese country

Finally wrapped up Wisconsin today. I went in expecting another region to grind through, after surviving Yukon, but this map quickly ended up being loved by me. Included some fun shots I finally remembered to take.

The scenery, the open highways, and the way the contracts flowed for me genuinely made it an enjoyable map. It definitely stands out as a favorite of mine, with what I've completed thus far (going in chronological order). This post is kinda bittersweet in that sense, considering that Amur is next up on the list.

Curious where everyone ranks Wisconsin compared to the other regions? And on that note, any pro tips from our Snowrunner veterans here for Amur? I'm fully expecting a hard time there.

Current state of this subreddit

Can we chill with the reposts? This is way out of hand - did the mods get paid off by Skurka to look the other way or what??

The same posts are getting recycled hours apart, turning the sub into a karma farm instead of a place for original shitposts.

This sub used to be funny as fuck because people actually made new content. Now it’s just reposts, low effort garbage (looking at you 10lb North Face tent guy) and Durston bot agents slowly killing the jerk. We can do better than this nonsense.

Pole snapped under its own weight.

So you know that part where you’ve spread the tent (dome 2) out on the ground and you putting the poles together. Then you’re holding the center of one end and one leg of the pole spider, and you’re going to put that leg into the tent / fly corner. When all of a sudden the pole on the other side makes a clunking noise and you look over and it’s collapsed under its own weight?

What do I do now ?!

Photo is after I attached all the tent clips, because I needed the tent to hold up for the last night of my trip. It did because of the sheathing but now I need a new pole. Not sure what my options are. My tent didn’t come with a sleeve to mend it in the wild.

Goliath achievement if I've completed up until Wisconsin?

Hey all, hoping this awesome community can help me out with a slight issue. I've completed the maps (in order) 100% up until Wisconsin, where I'm currently at 74%. I have not started any maps past Wisconsin's season.

I'm wanting to complete the Goliath achievement and was wondering if there's another special objective trailer down the road that I can use for this? I don't mind waiting til I get there, as long as there's an option for it.

Similarly, can I redo the same contest over and over again in Taymyr with the P12 for the Western Wind achievement? Or does it strictly need to be a Contract/Task? Would appreciate any insight you all may have, thanks as always.

Edit for quick update - thanks to this wonderful community's advice, I was able to knock out the rest of the Snowrunner achievements for 100%. Running the contests back to back will count towards cargo delivered. Now to keep on trucking 👍🏼

How did Tabitha's actress make the cut for this show?

**Disclaimer: This isn't a hate post or a personal attack on the actress. I love this show but I've also read a ton of comments regarding her acting.**

I've tried giving her performance the benefit of the doubt over four entire seasons, hoping she'd grow into her role. But my opinion about her acting has only declined with each new season. That said, I agree that *a portion of this* can be attributed to the writers and redundant lines..unless certain scenes/characters allowed for improvisation.

What confuses me? That Tabitha could be considered the most important character in the entire show, alongside Jade. She's at the center of the story and the town itself, but I consistently find her performance to be the weakest in the cast. For a show with horror elements, her "acting" doesn't give any sense of fear or urgency; I legitimately laughed the first time she was running from the monsters because of how much she didn't sell it.

That's what I don't get. With her (arguably) being the most important character in the town, I genuinely don't understand how the casting directors/writers/producers watched her performance and felt **she** was the right fit for such a major role. And it's not like every character is knocking it out of the park either (Marielle & Ellis are good examples).

Maybe I'm missing something crucial here. But after four seasons I just can't get past her "acting". Am I wrong - should the writers be blamed entirely here? Or do some folks think she's doing a good job? Open to any and all opinions of course.

Gen 3 Giant Loop panniers + 3D cycle quick detach plates

Hey all, former Gen 3 owner here. I got into an accident a while back which totalled the bike. Bonus info is it still drove just fine and was only totalled due to amount for repairs lol

I wanted to see if there'd be any interest here for a set of brand new Giant Loop MotoTrek panniers that are mounted to 3d cycle's quick detach panniers. I never had a chance to use them so they've just been sitting in a storage box in the garage ever since.

If anyone's interested I'd be happy to upload photos here or make a new post altogether, with verified photos/timestamp. I figured I'd ask here since these racks fit directly onto the gen3 ADV models racks.

Thanks for looking!

I think Dale really cemented himself as a legend for this one

Dale's arrogant, always picking fights with others, and a general nuisance in Colony House if you ask me. Love him or hate him, I think we can thank him for an unforgettable Fromville moment.

Curious to hear people's favorite scenes in the show that also had *interesting* outcomes 🤣

Good news everyone

This account was ragebaiting with horrendous driving for the last two weeks. Thankfully, with this community's efforts/reports - Reddit Admins stepped in I guess and gave them a sitewide ban.

Me when people keep saying S5 will explain everything

All 4 seasons could've been a single email

Season 1 - find tree, build tower, dig hole, house fall

Season 2 - three people in a coma, Tabby gets pushed out a lighthouse

Season 3 - smiley reborn, anghkooey

Season 4 - MiY trolling everyone, bones in a cave, Fatima becomes a monster.

But they're definitely gonna wrap all this up in 10 episodes, right?? 🥴

Is the Original Home Mini officially dead because of updates?

Edit - my consensus after going at this for nearly a week is that the Google home app is no longer useful like it once was. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to achieve SUCH A SIMPLE TASK. Especially when these speakers working FLAWLESSLY for years, until Gemini came in and essentially bricked my devices.

I don't know what Google changed in their Home App updates, but it's effectively bricked my original home mini. Never had any issues until recently and pulling out hairs to get this thing to connect.

Is this simply planned obsolescence doing what it's intended to do? Or has the process to connect the simplest speaker too much for Google Home these days?? I have three of them and they are all useless now.

[US - CA] [H] Lego 10300 Back to the Future [W] Paypal G&S

https://imgur.com/a/FLJUFhu

Hey all, thought I'd get around to building this one but never got around to it. Current MSRP is $160 so I've priced accordingly.

I prefer local pickup vs. shipping. BNIB, all seals intact, have receipts for purchase as well.

Asking $120 for local pickup in San Fernando Valley, or $120+shipping to lower 48.

Wingman of the Road - warning ⚠️

Hey all, making this post to warn others off of the Wingman tent that's been making its rounds on IG and the web as of late. Pics of some of my trips for added attention.

For some context, I've been backpacking, camping, and dirt biking all my life. My gear is as dialed in as it can be and I wager that my knowledge/understanding of camping products is definitely up there. Enough to sniff out nonsense when I see it, at least.

With that said, I wanted to warn all of you to stay away from Wingman tents. Everything their webpage is telling me is that it's a hot load of garbage that weighs 23lbs for a single person setup.

Now, I don't just want to bash on them blindly, this post was written in an effort to constructively dismantle everything they're trying to market/sell to you. So let's break it down.

>> The tent itself - looks absolutely wonky with too many pole points, making for a very complex setup that nobody would want to deal with. My copper spur takes 5 minutes to setup, at most. I don't need my air mattress to be the part of the structural foundation of the tent, as they've advertised (which also makes no sense)

>> Proprietary foam mattress and sleeping bag - absolutely and utterly useless in the grand scheme of things. Their tent mattress is literally just foam stuffed into an encasement. Their sleeping bag looks even worse! WHERE'S THE R-VALUE FOR THE PAD?? WHERE'S THE TEMP RATING FOR THE BAG??

For a company that advertises themselves as motocamping extraordinaires, they sure forgot to include THE most important aspects of camping - your goddamn shelter plans and specs!

>> Better breathability - they advertise this due to having two doors. So what? At that price point, most backpacking tents will have two doors and plenty of options to manage cooling/air in the tent. Their tent is a single layer but still heavier than anything I've seen because it's cotton canvas.

>> Naturally waterproof - looks like it was written by some techie that used buzz words instead of real engineering know how. "Rain causes canvas to swell, tightening the weave..keeping the water outside" sounds like a load of crap. Wa****rning ⚠️ - I couldn't find a single YT video demonstration, from anyone other than the manufacturer, that tested its capabilities in heavy rains.

>> Blacks out sunlight - I don't need a 23lb tent to accomplish this. Anybody that has issues in that dept can opt for a sleeping eye mask and be done with it. More nonsense imo.

>> Temperature regulation - they market it as being extremely well insulated, which is overkill for anything other than extreme alpine conditions in my experience. As someone who lives in SoCal, I know I'd be dying in a thick cotton canvas tent that blocks out light. Same reason you wouldn't wear cotton canvas when it's 90f outside.

>> Unbeatable durability - no durability tests that I've seen so far, so this is just a baseless claim. Besides, if I need a more durable setup than my copper spur? I'll switch over to my MSR Hubba Hubba. Never had an issue in that dept either.

>> Aesthetic & Discreet?? - "earth tone colors....blend into your surroundings..important when wild camping" I'm sorry, but did I just find myself back at boot camp or Iraq??? In all of my years backpacking and motocamping, the thought of blending **into my surroundings came up exactly zero times lmao..**More useless nonsense.

The consensus here? Absolutely just another IG hack looking to sell an inferior product to folks who don't know any better. So I hope that this post will serve as some basic knowledge and inform others WHY you should stay away from this company.

I welcome anyone with a wingman to chime in here, because all I'm seeing on their IG and webpage is elite-tier glazing.

Edited to add: You don't have to own something to evaluate whether it makes sense on paper. That's why specs, comparisons, and gear discussions exist.

A 23 lb single-person tent marketed toward motocampers is objectively a huge compromise in weight and size. For that price (~$450-500) there are plenty of smaller, lighter options that don't sacrifice on durability either.
