Just posting out of curiosity, been wondering about this for a while now.

I follow a lot of miata pages and I'm in several groups. One thing that stands out to me is the difference in price between the US and Europe.

I see a lot of people in the US list theirs for sale and they're often getting made fun of because of their asking price even with low miles and great condition.

I can't help thinking those prices are far from bad when I compare them to their value around here in Europe. Mine was already around 10k euro when I got it and the prices are only going up with 12k not being unusual nowadays. When you take the conversion rate into account this gap definitely seems rather large.

I know the market can be very different depending on where you're from but it makes me wonder if they're harder to come by in Europe? I'd love to hear about it.

Why are people on reddit so mean?

I only recently gave it another chance to make a reddit account, partake in conversations here or find support on topics I struggle with in life. Still, I spend most time passively browsing while not commenting at all. While I've found plenty of supportive and helpful comments there's also a whole different experience at the same time, often when it's not even related to personal matters.

The most surprising thing is that I'm not even engaging in topics that I'd consider to be sensitive like politics, religion, relationships or family. I'm always polite towards others and when I comment I'm not writing in any ways that could be interpreted as aggressive or offensive.

It's not even just about the way people reply to me but also how I see them treat others. People really get all sorts of belittling comments, get told to use their brain while they're saying nothing wrong or people tell them they're being rude for using a word like "huh" in their sentence and so on.

I know we're on the internet and it's easy for people to hide behind their screens but I've never been on a platform where it's as bad as here. It's not even fresh accounts that are doing this but people who have been active for years and have tons of karma. If you're simply commenting on something or sharing a negative experience and they see the slightest opportunity to put the blame on you or attack you, they will. This isn't a platform dominated by kids or teenagers, so why do so many people act like one?

I really struggle getting into this game, any tips?

So I noticed most people like this game a lot better than two point campus while I'm having the opposite experience. Today I tried getting into it for the second time and I started from scratch. It feels like there's too many elements being introduced right from the start and it makes me feel overwhelmed.

I try not to hire too many staff members right away but then feel pressured when some of them are required for an expedition or training or taking breaks. I'm never certain about placing displays close to each other or spread them more and the need for decorations to gain more buzz makes it feel like I'm just putting things down randomly and it doesn't look very neat.

I progressed a bit further around a year ago and it only felt worse and worse. I end up lacking funds or not having enough space for all the things I need to put down. When staff got sick or my museum got too cluttered with trash it felt like whatever I did didn't solve those problems and it was just one big chain of negative events. I normally love these kind of games but I'm not sure why I'm having such a hard time with this one because I really want to get into it. It feels like there's simply too much you have to be considering the entire time?

I wouldn't even call this a high difficulty type of game but it doesn't feel very relaxing at this point.

Am I just doing things wrong? I never expected this struggle after playing campus...

Terrible mental state and can't deal with my emotions

Before I started smoking I struggled with depression quite badly and it had been present since my early teenage years. When I discovered weed and it became a daily habit it started to fade and instead I became anxious.

I'm close to 2 months of quitting and I really don't want to go back but I feel so damn awful. My anxiety got significantly better but instead my depression came back and it's exactly how I felt right before weed became part of my life. At this point I'd gladly trade my depression back for anxiety because at least that made me mostly physically sick instead of constantly feeling mentally unstable.

I'm a very emotional person (and HSP) and I burst into tears for the smallest reasons. I felt like it had gotten so much better over the years but it seems like it was just the weed numbing me. I actually felt so much more balanced, not entirely numb but just right.

It's also giving me a terrible time dealing with my family, I have some past trauma related to my toxic mom and it's all coming back to me now, keeping me up at night and even during the day I feel bad and keep thinking about the things I was able to mostly put aside for so long.

I've done everything to work on myself over more than 10 years of time. Tried almost all meds for this (never stopped taking them), multiple psychologists until I found one I had a click with, psychiatrists, group therapy with schedules of 4 entire days a week and so on.

I don't want to go back to those early years but aside from weed there hasn't been a single other thing that was able to help me get better. I'm exhausted and sad and can't find any quiet inside my head. I'm having nightmares about my abusive relationship from the past as well to top things off.

I'm terrified and I really didn't expect for things to pick up right where they left off. It's been about 10 years and I wasn't prepared for this. I thought more changed than just the weed habit but it turns out without it I'm still facing the very same struggles.

Sorry for the big wall of text but I at least felt the need to write things down.

I thought things would get better after growing up and moving out

I don't hate my mom but there's one thing that keeps bothering me.

Since my teenage years me and my mom have clashed a lot. She used to be very controlling and tried to change who I was for years. My clothes were never okay, my friends were never okay and she always tried to steer me towards what she thinks is right. She clearly had certain expectations from having a daughter and it couldn't have worked out worse for her.

She loves shopping, putting together feminine outfits and prefers designer brands. And then there's me. I don't care much for shopping and prefer to do it online and choose comfort over looks unless it's for a special occasion. My wardrobe mostly consists of jeans, sweatpants, oversized shirts and hoodies and all in black, white or grey. I'm mostly interested in cars, building computers, games, lego, pokémon cards or digital art. I still look like a "normal" girl with long hair and wear some makeup but on the inside I don't care much about things people would refer to as typical "girl stuff".

Over the years it feels like things have gotten better, partially because she realized she can't control me and I'm not a kid or teenager anymore. Almost 3 years ago I was finally able to move out and get a place of my own. I'd say we get along pretty well now but each time I actually talk about the things I love and care about I keep getting reminded of those bad times.

I was wearing a merch t-shirt from one of my favorite video games that has (in her words) "monsters" on it. While she doesn't keep expressing that she dislikes it over and over, she seems to feel the need to comment on it at least once each time she sees me wearing it. It's usually something like "oh, you're wearing my favorite shirt again" (sarcasm ofc). When I try to tell her she's made her point clear she laughs it away or acts bitten in the ass and says "tastes can differ right".

When I get excited over a lego set I plan to buy or the release of a new pokémon product she sighs and acts like I'm nagging. I was complaining about a new game I really loved but was pretty expensive and she suggested "I finally find some new hobbies".

A little later I was talking about the same things to my dad (who is cooler about it) and when she entered the room she started mockingly talking to my cat like "yea so you hear that, she's only becoming more and more of child again" referring to my hobbies once more.

I know there's people out there who share her opinion on my hobbies being "weird" for an adult but after all these years I expected her to drop this stuff and maybe finally accept it's who I am and what makes me happy. I can't change the things I'm interested in and love to do, I made friends this way because they love the same stuff. We're okay but each time I try to really open up and talk about things I care about, I get reminded of everything that went wrong between us and why.

She doesn't understand it's not funny and that her comments aren't entirely harmless. I already gave up on the fact that she has no idea how harmful her behavior was while I was still a teenager. She still wonders why I've been anxious and depressed and blames it on some ex boyfriend of mine while it's really her who ruined me. Not even my psychologist can make her see it.

It's only fine as long as I don't talk about the things I love. I'm approaching my 29th birthday and I still feel like I'm not being taken serious.

I accidentally shipped an item over the weight limit, will it be fine?

When I first started selling on Vinted I listed a few books, in the meantime I've sold mostly lighter items like clothing and people didn't seem to care about the books.

Earlier this week someone suddenly bought one of my books (a trilogy) and I thought it would be fine. I was mostly surprised because I had kind of forgotten about those listings. Fast forward to today, I'm at my parents house and find the very same book (my sister had it too) and I started overthinking that it's pretty heavy after all. So I do the test, put it on scales and sure enough the book itself already slightly exceeds the 1kg limit provided by the carrier (DPD in this case). I've never seen anyone weigh my parcels when dropping them off so that part is fine, I'm more worried about what will happen next.

I'm fine with having to pay a small fee for my mistake but I just hope the buyer doesn't get bothered with this or the package would get rejected by the carrier and sent back. I think if I had to make an estimate the package itself must've been around 1.3kg.

What it feels like after a month (not what I expected)

It's been a month and a week since I quit (after nearly 10 years) and it's been going surprisingly well and rather awful at the same time.

Before I made the decision to finally quit I had been thinking about all reasons to quit for weeks and I was in the perfect mindset to do so, which I think really helped.

I decided not to be too harsh on myself: it's okay to be less productive, to sleep longer (and damn I sleep long now) and to feel bad sometimes.

The thing I wasn't prepared for is how the weed itself isn't my biggest issue. I haven't even considered buying it again once and I don't think I will. It's how I feel like I lost a big part of myself.

My biggest example would be video games, I used to smoke passively while playing and I could keep going for hours. I gladly got out of bed to continue working towards my goals each day. It was a hobby that I truly enjoyed and got me through difficult times even before weed played a role in my life.

I haven't felt like playing at all. At most, I turn on some idle games that barely require me to do anything and I just sit there. When I turn on my pc I just check reddit, watch some YouTube videos or read some news articles but not much more than that.

I know I should give it more time but I'm afraid I'll never be passionate about it again and that thought pains me. Part of me believes it should be fine in the end, if younger me could do this before the discovery of weed it should be possible to return to that state right?

I feel like it was simply such a big part of my daily structure and I never expected that finding purpose in my days and rediscovering my love for hobbies would be the hardest part. For context, I also have no job due to other health reasons and spend a lot of time at home which gives me even more "empty space" to fill in.

Floral Gengar mini backpack differences

Today I noticed something I'm a bit curious about.

I bought this backpack around 1,5 years ago and I still think it's amazing (it's also my first and only loungefly item so far). I was browsing a second hand store online and I noticed the very same backpack, or I thought. Upon further inspection I noticed it has charizard on one side and scorbunny on the other side. Mine has charizard on both sides.

Are there 2 existing versions or is this some kind of production anomaly? I love charizard so I don't really mind (although they're both facing the same direction, making it less symmetrical).

All this time I thought they all came with 2 charizards.

More attracted to things than people

I'm still a bit new in the ace community and there's something I'm genuinely wondering about.

I'm not really attracted to items in the sense that they make me horny or anything but I tend to get more excited about them than people.

My biggest example would be cool cars, they really make me go "hot damn" while I never feel that way around people. I can stare at them for hours and admire their beauty. At the same time I can acknowledge a person is beautiful but after a few seconds I just forget about it entirely and move on.

Other examples would be high end computers, collectibles or even works of art that grab my attention.

I know this might not be directly connected to being ace, I have no idea honestly. I was just curious if other ace people experience something similar or even if this has a name at all. I don't really need to find a label but I'm interested to hear about it.

How to open up to family members?

My family still seems to think that I'm on a temporary break from dating after my last relationship. Near the end of that relationship and the time after I finally started to make peace with who I am and what I don't need.

I forced myself to be sexually active and live up to standard relationship norms from my teenage years until I was almost 30. I told myself it was normal or that I still needed to discover myself somehow. I held on to the idea that I could at least make my partner feel good but each time I had sex I was secretly hoping for it to be over soon.

I feel great on my own and the idea that no one has those expectations of me is so freeing.

I don't think my family would react negatively but it just seems awkward and random to bring it up.

For a while I've just been reminding them that I'm a happy single woman now but I feel like I'll need to properly explain things at some point so they know this isn't a temporary thing.

How did you guys discuss this with family or close friends? My parents aren't prude or anything but we're not that open either.

I'm tired of not being understood

I got caught up in a discussion about whether or not children should have their own room or share them with siblings. I tried to voice that I would've had a hard time with it because I always needed my peace and quiet, and that not all kids would do well in that setting, especially when they become teenagers.

Well, for the hundredth time I got called a snowflake. Why can't people realize that this isn't weakness of character or being spoiled. I'm not choosing to feel like I want to pull my hair out or break down crying when things get unexpectedly hectic. The way I perceive things are very real to me and the lack of understanding is just painful.

I also have pretty bad anxiety that makes it hard for me to engage in conversations in the first place but each time I open up the slightest bit about myself and my experiences I get reminded why I just shouldn't talk about it.

Anything that actually helps during periods?

I wish I was joking when I say that I haven't found anything that truly helps me get through my periods.

I gave up on painkillers a long time ago because whatever I tried made no difference at all. That also applies to other things like non period related headaches, nothing works for me.

I'm having a hell of a day and applying warmth is out of the question because my country has been experiencing a heat wave and I'm already sweating like hell.

Last visit to my obgyn confirmed that I very likely have endo (my mom has it too) and they gave me another type birth control pill that supposedly is more suited for heavy periods. I haven't noticed any difference more than a year later.

I'm 28 and I'm so tired of going through this over and over again without any relief. It's also frustrating that things that seem to work for others don't help me at all.

Getting started on my pokédex

I can't really decide how to approach my pokédex project.

I thought it might be a fun thing to do while I'll be stuck at home for a few weeks and I have quite a lot of bulk and holo cards lying around.

At first I wanted to include regional forms as well but I want to avoid having to move all of my cards if they ever come up with new ones so I dropped the idea.

I heard some people make a separate one for those forms but I'm curious how that would look in terms of organizing.

Also, a lot of people seem to include as many full arts as possible but I'm a bit torn on this matter because I already have a binder that contains my favorite and most valuable cards with some pages dedicated to specific pokémon I like.

Of course it doesn't have to be perfect right away because the whole point is that you can swap them out for cards you like better. I'm just trying to think it through so I don't end up feeling like I should've done things differently and potentially have to move hundreds of cards.

Getting started with binder art

Lately I've seen a lot of customized binders and I'd love to give it a go myself. I have a few friends with birthdays coming up over the next months so I figured it would be cool to give this a try and if all goes well, surprise them with one of their favorite pokémon on a binder.

I have no idea how to get started and quite a few questions. I have some experience drawing but only with pencils and no color so this will still be new territory.

A few specific things I'm wondering about:

  • Which markers work well and on which type of binder surface materials?
  • What can I use to seal it (I assume that's important too)

I don't want to overspend on something I'm not sure I'll love doing so I'd prefer to use affordable supplies that still yield decent results.

Another thing I'm not sure how to approach is choosing colors. Because I'll be drawing specific pokémon and not just entirely made up art it's important that the colors actually match the pokémon colors. This makes me assume that buying a set of markers wouldn't be great because it's unlikely to contain any of the colors I actually need.

Keep in mind I'm not familiar with markers at all so I'm not sure if there's some kind of color mixing approach or solution to this.

I wasn't sure whether to post here or on the PokemonTCG reddit but as it's just about art I decided to ask here and see.
