I’ll go first, Fifty Shades of Grey. When that trailer released with that Beyoncé song it was an instant needle drop. I couldn’t stop watching the trailer. I don’t know what it was but I was like wow, this movie might actually be good. Then the movie was released and well, if you’ve seen it then well you know.

Anyone else have any examples of this where the trailer got a lot of People excited but then the movie was absolute dog 💩?

Edit: man, there are so many votes for suicide squad in the comments that I’m going to have to go back and watch the trailer. I remember watching the movie on hbo max but don’t remember the trailer at all.

Looking at maybe getting one of these used off marketplace for $75 by me. I always avoided the LG UBK90 because I saw people complain a lot about it freezing etc but I saw that it randomly got a software update in 2024 after not having an update in years. Curious if this made a difference for anyone who still has the player. Did it improve picture quality or freezing issues etc? Was looking at this player because it has both DV and HDR auto switching and I also have an LG OLED tv.

So I shipped something to a buyer in Guam at the end of April. They opened an item not received case last week because there had been no tracking updates since May 5th so I refunded them. Now today the tracking updated after no scans in over a month and it’s going to be delivered tomorrow to the buyer. Will eBay refund me since I bought the label on eBay? What’s the process I need to go through to get refunded?

Been battling Health Anxiety and panic attacks since my mom died in 2019. I have bought so many books on anxiety but haven’t really gotten around to reading any of them all the way through. I feel overwhelmed by all the options.

If you could recommend one book on anxiety that helped the most with your recovery what would it be and why?

I was wondering what the normal loading time is for 4k discs on the UB820? If I put in a DVD it reads it and boots up the disc within about 3 sec but for 4K discs (yes I know they have way more data) it usually says reading for about 20-25 seconds before it finally plays from the player welcome menu. Is that normal for this player? I have a Samsung M8500 4k player in bedroom and 4k discs boot up within a few seconds.

Has anyone had a chance to compare the two? I’m trying to decide which one to get. I know shameless has Dolby vision but otherwise is one transfer better than the other or are they pretty comparable?

Could be in my top 3 is the hotel scene between Ilya and Shane at the end of episode 2. Especially that back and forth where Ilya says “holding the cup”

Was perusing players on eBay last week and came across a UB820 for $119 that said it was a defective customer return. Didn’t say specifically what was defective but I thought sure why not, it had a May 2025 manufactured date on it so I thought worse come to worse maybe it’s still
Under warranty with Panasonic. So the player arrived today and there is literally nothing wrong with it. It’s in mint like new condition in its original box and plays every disc I’ve thrown at it, including the new fight club 4k 100gb disc I watched in full without issue.

So I messaged the seller because I was perplexed what the heck is wrong with this thing and they said the customer returned it saying it wouldn’t read their discs, but they didn’t have time to test it before putting it up on eBay to resell. So either the buyer lied to avoid paying a restocking fee or maybe they were having issues with triple layer discs, but either way I’m one happy camper lol.

I used to listen to music all the time, while driving, while cooking, while hanging out with friends, but around pandemic time I somehow lost my love for listening to music and found myself either listening to podcasts or watching endless vlogs on YouTube.

I’ve now rewatched the show about 5 times and I can’t get enough of this soundtrack. I’ve been listening to it in my car, in the shower, while cooking, while out on daily walks etc. The only thing I can think of is a lot of the music in the show is music I used to listen to and it made me nostalgic for happier times. Can’t get enough of it. Anyone else been listening to the soundtrack on repeat?

Maybe it’s a placebo but I just replaced a sub mini with a sub gen 2 and now the audio from my playbar seems louder at the same volumes that it was with the sub mini? Voices seem more clear and louder than before. I know when you connect a sub to your Sonos soundbar it allows it to focus more on the mids and highs and lets the sub do the lows, which improves the sound quality on the soundbar, but I didn’t think it would make a difference in the sound quality of the soundbar with a sub gen 2 over a mini? Am I hearing things?

For context I have a playbar, 2X Play 3 fronts, Sub Gen 2 and 2x Sonos IKEA frame speakers for rears in Sonosequencer.

Been comparing the picture on the 450 vs 820 going back and forth sitting 3 feet away from the tv and I don’t see it. Tried default blu rays and 4k blu rays with HDR and DV and I’m not really seeing the difference in picture quality. I have them both hooked up to my LG C1 and I have the HDR Optimizer on for the 820 and for how much everyone says this is by far the best player picture quality wise I’m just not seeing it. What am I looking for? Better shadow detail? Brighter highlights? Better colors? For as much as it’s hyped up the difference should be noticeable right away I would think.

I’m thinking about picking up the AirPod Max 2 (upgrading from Sonos Ace Headphones) and was curious if there was any improvement in Spatial Audio when watching movies on the Apple TV 4K over the AirPod Max 1 or does Spatial Audio basically sound the same? Wasn’t sure if the upgraded intervals on the 2 made any improvements or not.

Is that stereo sound is actually stereo sound. For example, when I used to watch something that was in 2 ch PCM Sonos would pump fake audio into the surrounds. I love that only sound comes out of the FR and FL channels now and not from the center or rears like it didi before I added fronts. I used to have to turn off the rears in the app just so the 2 ch stereo pcm would only come out of my playbar.

I saw a seller was selling a few lots so I liked three of them. Almost immediately I get an offer for each but didn’t respond. Then within an hour the seller direct messages me saying they noticed I liked all three lots and tried making me a bundle offer that wasn’t a great offer. When I told them the offer wasn’t good enough and I’m not interested they got really mad and called me a dickhead and blocked me lol.

Long story short, I wish Mercari wouldn’t share my info with sellers when I like their items because I don’t mind getting offers but I don’t appreciate getting unwanted direct messages from them. At least eBay only gives out your member screen name when you make an offer to the seller and not from just simply liking an item. Please change this Mercari
