I’m a relatively new fan, and started working my way through the Beach Boys discography a few days ago. I was excited to see stereo options on Spotify, but now I’m hearing that mono is better because that’s how Brian mixed everything. Is mono really better when listening to the band?

I’ve always loved having different instruments in different headphones/the “wider” sound of stereo. I guess I’m asking if their music actually sounds better in mono, or if it’s more of a “respecting the artist’s original vision” thing.

Are there any tracks that sound worse off for being stereo, or any that sound much better as mono? Or vice versa? Also, when/how were the albums mixed into stereo if Brian wasn’t the one doing it himself? I have many questions, lol.

Just listened to the first 19 tracks of the Smile Sessions two nights ago… I’m planning on going back in and sampling some of the other tracks, but 5 hours of content is super daunting. Since I’m not going to listen to everything start to finish, are there any other ‘must-listens’ from the compilation apart from what I’ve already heard that anybody can recommend?

Hey all, I'm about to enter my second year of college (psych student!) and am looking to become certified in hypnotherapy. Most of the reputable options/resources I'm finding require you to have a college degree in the appropriate field before beginning your training.

Are there any alternative options (that are also reputable) for me to become certified before graduating?

My father (born circa late 60s) told me about something he saw on TV that freaked him out as a kid, and he’s never been able to find it. He believes he saw it around 1975.
It was some kind of thriller/crime/horror movie (or episode of a TV show) where people enter their own home, for instance, and a mannequin is inside having been left there by someone who is terrorizing the protagonists.
He specifically remembers a scene where someone tries to shut a car door but a mannequin arm is hanging out of it keeping it from closing, as well a scene with a cherry picker at a dump site and a mannequin arm in the debris.
He says that he does not think there were any supernatural elements, and it was the level of quality of a "made for TV" movie.
