Feeling betrayed by best friend

For context:

Been friends since we were 8. School together, sleepovers etc. Our families are also close friends and hang out all the time. We spent holidays together, trips etc. We are both from Spain born and raised but I currently live in California, been here for 8 years. But I do come to Spain 4-5 months a year so we are still close, spend time together, text many times a week etc basically nothing changed.

She is getting married next year and she had told she would make some appts to go try on wedding dresses and I'd obviously go with her.

Fast forward to today. We are currently both here in Spain for the summer so we have been seeing each other a lot. I texted her to see if she wants to go out to grab coffee and she texts back saying she had made an appt to try on dresses but she didn't tell me because she has already too many people going ( 5 people ).

I know the place she is going to and it DOESN'T have a set number of people to bring. She is bringing her cousin who she's not close with it at all. She only told me about this because I texted her to go get coffee, if not she was going to do it in secret. Nothing happened between us and we are still very close. Seeing each other often. She's my daughter godmother and wants my daughter in the wedding etc.

Am I right to be offended/ sad about all this??

Stuffed tomatoes today!

Here’s a super easy and quick recipe that I love making on hot summer days: stuffed tomatoes!

Here's the recipe:

Start by cutting the tops off the tomatoes and scooping out the inside. Don’t throw it away, Save the tomato pulp and put it in a bowl. Add canned tuna, chopped hard boiled eggs a nd mayo, then mix everything together. Fill back into the tomatoes and put them in the fridge to chill.

I usually make these around lunchtime and let them chill for a few hours, then enjoy them for dinner.

Lunch for my 19 month old

I made pasta with ricotta and fresh homemade pesto and he loved it! Then he had half a chicken cutlet that I made in the air fryer. Not pictured but he also had broccoli and a whole pear!

19mo old hates the stroller

He has hated the stroller since he was a newborn. Now he is 19mo old and very high energy. Running, jumping and climbing everywhere. We are spending the summer in Europe and everyone goes out for walks after dinner , so I've been trying to take him as well. He completely refuses the stroller, screams and kicks until we get him out. I tried a few strollers too and he does the same thing.

I just hold his hands and we try to walk but then he gets tired and wants to be held and I can't hold him the whole time. I see all the kids and babies in the stroller enjoying walks and then I have no choice but stay home because I can't take him out alone unless I hold him. We'd like to explore the towns too , even in the morning. But same thing.. no stroller , so both me and my husband can only go nearby and hold him 90% of the time because if we let him go he either gets tired or he doesn't want to hold hands and runs away putting himself in dangerous situations.

We can't even do fun things for him like trips to the aquarium, zoo , visit a new town, go to a beach that requires a little walk. The only things we can do are playgrounds ( but it's told hot for that ) or a beach where we park and go.

It's really an issue because I feel like we are missing out on so much fun and time with other kids because he refused the stroller.

I'd understand refusing it for long periods of time but even 5-10 minutes .. it's been a struggle . I already tried SNACKS , TOYS etc. He doesn't care .

Crying hysterically during haircut

My son is 19mo old and today we took him for haircut. It was a disaster. He kept screaming, crying uncontrollably, extremely scared , he tried kicking, he was sweating like crazy and never stopped for a min. After the haircut we got back home and he was back to his normal self : playing, eating, laughing and acting normal.

I'm honestly still upset about all this. What can I do to make it better next time ?

We got an experienced barber for kids. We made sure he was well rested and fed before we went. We let him watch other people getting haircuts to get familiar with it. He sat on my lap the whole time instead of sitting on the chair alone. We brought new toys, ipad etc and he didn't care at all. He was already screaming the moment we sat down. Also.. this place was fun for kids ! Shows , colors , car chairs , airplanes on the ceiling etc. He didn't care at all.

He already got 6 haircuts and every time it gets worse. This time I waited 3 months because I was dreading it. The problem is he has a lot of hair and it grows like crazy and now we are in Europe for the summer with no AC at home and it was so hot.

I'm so afraid I caused some kind of trauma by bringing hkm to get a haircut. I never seen him so upset.

How did she recover so soon? How is she so skinny already?

I'm genuinely curious! A few days after c section she was already out, wearing tons of makeup etc. I was exhausted after a c section and for probably the first time in my life I didn't brush teeth the following morning. I was in pain and too tired to do anything. I didn't feel well even once I got home , took a while to finally start feeling better. I'm also 18mo post c section and still have a "belly". I really doubt she got a tummy tuck because that's a major surgery and they won't do it right after c section. What do you guys think? There is definitely something fishy

Donating contacts

Hello! I have 2 full boxes of contacts , recently purchased. My prescription changed and I don't need them anymore. Does anybody know where I can donate them? I feel so bad to throw them away. They're -6.50 , strong prescription so it's not easy to find someone!

Feeling bad for my neighbor's puppy

So my neighbor recently bought a puppy who was separated from his mom at 1 month old ( already VERY sad ). Anyways, this puppy is home alone all day from 7am until 6 pm. He is 2 months old now and never been outside , they don't take him out on a leash, they don't take him anywhere, he's just home. On the weekend they also go out a lot and he stays home. I feel super sad for the dog. I recently tried talking to my neighbor and he said he's still little to be out with the leash and I also told him he shouldn't be home alone and he said the dog is completely fine, he just sleeps and they check on him through the cameras. What can I do?? They don't care :( i love animals and I feel so sad about this. Im about to go on a 3 month trip overseas so I won't be able to do much. I thought about calling animal control but they can it's not true and also the dog is not being physically abused or anything...

Sandals recommendations for 18mo old baby?

He's been walking since he was 13mo old. We are going to be outside a LOT so was looking for something very comfortable and safe. He is size 5-6 right now.

Have you ever worked for a family that DIDN'T want the kids to clean up after playing?

My friend is an au pair for a family, kids are 3&5 . The family is pretty rich and they have a huge playroom ( imagine 3 rooms combined , that's how big it is ) with different sections : art supplies, Legos , kitchen, trampoline, Dolls. Around the whole playroom they have some cubes shelves and each cube has a different thing like magnetiles , dolls and so on. So they have over 50 cubes with different stuff.

They don't want the kids to clean up after they play or even to help. It's the au pair responsibility to leave the playroom tidy before her shift ends and before the weekend. On Monday she usually finds that playroom a mess.. I've seen pics and it's crazy how it looks especially because they often have playdates. And it's not quick to clean up because of the amount of toys they have and they all go in different bins.

One time the older boy was cleaning up (almost 6yo) and the mother came in and said " you can cleanup if you want but you don't have to " so he immediately stopped.

I'm just wondering is this normal?? I thought it would be helpful for the kids to learn how to clean up their spaces? I'm teaching my baby to clean up with me after he plays as I think it's good for them.

Just want to see different perspectives

Edit: when I mean " clean up" I mean help the au pair / nanny put away their toys . She never asks them to clean up dishes or make beds etc I feel like the toys should be the minimum

Little pasta stars with carrots&beans

I did carrots and blended cannellini beans, then added a little bit of Parmesan cheese. Been eating this since he was 7 months old!

We have a 1.5 yo right now and ideally we would like to try for another baby next spring ( we don't know how long it will take to get pregnant obviously).

We live in the USA but my whole family/ friends are in Europe. My best friend is getting married next summer in July. So if I do get pregnant next spring , it means we will be skipping the wedding because I'm not comfortable traveling pregnant with a toddler.

I really don't want to wait longer to try for a baby , next spring/summer is perfect if I do end up getting pregnant, because of age gap etc. I've also known about this wedding for 2 years tho! My friend is so excited to have me there and have my son bring the rings and we are a big party in the wedding! I also don't want to tell anybody our plan about trying to conceive. Even tho we are super super close, I have PCOS and idk where it will happen - telling someone about it makes it very nervous and I really want to keep it for myself until I'm actually pregnant!

Am I a bad friend? I know how much she wants me there for the wedding. But I also don't want to postpone trying for a baby for that!!

And for context, I don't want to travel internationally while being pregnant, I have a condition which causes me to have very low hemoglobin during pregnancies and it's safe to stay here.

I feel like both!! Can't decide. If I do get the rounder ones, I'd get them in grey and pink instead of that blushish at the bottom ( couldn't take a pic bc they didn't have them but I can order ).

So I have myopia on both eyes and my prescription is -8. I want to get new frames and lenses and came across this website. For the lenses I was going to order high index 1.74 , UV protection and anti scratch with premium antireflective. I went to my eye doctor in person and got my PD there so I know it's accurate. My question is. Is this website reliable and ok to do my glasses through them? It's accepted by insurance and the total will come out a little over $300 ( after insurance ). As for the frames , I tried the same frames at the store and like them ( but they are double the price ) so my concern is only the lenses!
