How did she recover so soon? How is she so skinny already?

I'm genuinely curious! A few days after c section she was already out, wearing tons of makeup etc. I was exhausted after a c section and for probably the first time in my life I didn't brush teeth the following morning. I was in pain and too tired to do anything. I didn't feel well even once I got home , took a while to finally start feeling better. I'm also 18mo post c section and still have a "belly". I really doubt she got a tummy tuck because that's a major surgery and they won't do it right after c section. What do you guys think? There is definitely something fishy

Donating contacts

Hello! I have 2 full boxes of contacts , recently purchased. My prescription changed and I don't need them anymore. Does anybody know where I can donate them? I feel so bad to throw them away. They're -6.50 , strong prescription so it's not easy to find someone!

Feeling bad for my neighbor's puppy

So my neighbor recently bought a puppy who was separated from his mom at 1 month old ( already VERY sad ). Anyways, this puppy is home alone all day from 7am until 6 pm. He is 2 months old now and never been outside , they don't take him out on a leash, they don't take him anywhere, he's just home. On the weekend they also go out a lot and he stays home. I feel super sad for the dog. I recently tried talking to my neighbor and he said he's still little to be out with the leash and I also told him he shouldn't be home alone and he said the dog is completely fine, he just sleeps and they check on him through the cameras. What can I do?? They don't care :( i love animals and I feel so sad about this. Im about to go on a 3 month trip overseas so I won't be able to do much. I thought about calling animal control but they can it's not true and also the dog is not being physically abused or anything...

Sandals recommendations for 18mo old baby?

He's been walking since he was 13mo old. We are going to be outside a LOT so was looking for something very comfortable and safe. He is size 5-6 right now.

Have you ever worked for a family that DIDN'T want the kids to clean up after playing?

My friend is an au pair for a family, kids are 3&5 . The family is pretty rich and they have a huge playroom ( imagine 3 rooms combined , that's how big it is ) with different sections : art supplies, Legos , kitchen, trampoline, Dolls. Around the whole playroom they have some cubes shelves and each cube has a different thing like magnetiles , dolls and so on. So they have over 50 cubes with different stuff.

They don't want the kids to clean up after they play or even to help. It's the au pair responsibility to leave the playroom tidy before her shift ends and before the weekend. On Monday she usually finds that playroom a mess.. I've seen pics and it's crazy how it looks especially because they often have playdates. And it's not quick to clean up because of the amount of toys they have and they all go in different bins.

One time the older boy was cleaning up (almost 6yo) and the mother came in and said " you can cleanup if you want but you don't have to " so he immediately stopped.

I'm just wondering is this normal?? I thought it would be helpful for the kids to learn how to clean up their spaces? I'm teaching my baby to clean up with me after he plays as I think it's good for them.

Just want to see different perspectives

Edit: when I mean " clean up" I mean help the au pair / nanny put away their toys . She never asks them to clean up dishes or make beds etc I feel like the toys should be the minimum

Little pasta stars with carrots&beans

I did carrots and blended cannellini beans, then added a little bit of Parmesan cheese. Been eating this since he was 7 months old!

We have a 1.5 yo right now and ideally we would like to try for another baby next spring ( we don't know how long it will take to get pregnant obviously).

We live in the USA but my whole family/ friends are in Europe. My best friend is getting married next summer in July. So if I do get pregnant next spring , it means we will be skipping the wedding because I'm not comfortable traveling pregnant with a toddler.

I really don't want to wait longer to try for a baby , next spring/summer is perfect if I do end up getting pregnant, because of age gap etc. I've also known about this wedding for 2 years tho! My friend is so excited to have me there and have my son bring the rings and we are a big party in the wedding! I also don't want to tell anybody our plan about trying to conceive. Even tho we are super super close, I have PCOS and idk where it will happen - telling someone about it makes it very nervous and I really want to keep it for myself until I'm actually pregnant!

Am I a bad friend? I know how much she wants me there for the wedding. But I also don't want to postpone trying for a baby for that!!

And for context, I don't want to travel internationally while being pregnant, I have a condition which causes me to have very low hemoglobin during pregnancies and it's safe to stay here.

I feel like both!! Can't decide. If I do get the rounder ones, I'd get them in grey and pink instead of that blushish at the bottom ( couldn't take a pic bc they didn't have them but I can order ).

So I have myopia on both eyes and my prescription is -8. I want to get new frames and lenses and came across this website. For the lenses I was going to order high index 1.74 , UV protection and anti scratch with premium antireflective. I went to my eye doctor in person and got my PD there so I know it's accurate. My question is. Is this website reliable and ok to do my glasses through them? It's accepted by insurance and the total will come out a little over $300 ( after insurance ). As for the frames , I tried the same frames at the store and like them ( but they are double the price ) so my concern is only the lenses!

I don't serve these as "purees" but I use them on pasta, rice, farro, orzo etc. It's an easy way to serve vegetables especially the ones that my son doesn't like. Yesterday I made a big batch of red sauce, zucchini&carrots with beans. Spinach zucchini and carrots, ragù. I change veggies every week. My son is not a fan of vegetables usually. These are great to freeze for those days where you don't feel like cooking much, all you all have to do is make pasta!

Hello. My SIS ( husband 26yo sister ) is mentally impaired. She doesn't have a diagnosis but to make it short, she is like a 3 yo child. She loves dolls, doesn't know how to shower , read write etc so she's very dependent on her mother. My MIL is getting older and my FIL passed away a few years ago. My question is, what happens to her once my MIL passes/ is not being able to care for her anymore?

My husband is the only brother and we have already decided we won't be taking her in. We live in a small condo and we travel often, we don't feel prepared to change our lives for her. There are no family members that can take her. Right now she receives a pension from the state. Does she go automatically to a group home and they take the pension or we need to pay additional money for that? Does she need to have a place already in case something happens? I hope my MIL will still be good for a while and she's completely fine taking care of her right now but worried in case something happens and we need an urgent place for her. At our condo we don't even have an extra room right now for example and we live in a different country for 3 months over the summer .

For reference we are located in Connecticut.
