Okay he absolutely LOVES duck. These treats I bought have been amazing. I top his food with a couple of them he'll eat EVERYTHING. I was thinking about adding some actual duck food into the rotation. I'm buying more food next paycheck to add variety. Do y'all know a good duck kitten food? Or ALS. I'm not too picky
And what EXACTLY are you buying. I'm trying to figure out the new budget and wanna see what others are spending. I'm thinking about snagging alot of store brand cans to bulk up the supply. I don't get to take advantage of many sales due to not living near any pet stores. I have to travel and don't get to go to those towns often. Once a month is all I can manage to go to the BIG petstores. Most of my stuff is online only.
The kitten is OBSESSED with opening my McDonald's app and batting the screen there. I came back from the bathroom after leaving my phone on the bed not knowing it scanned my face and boy had food in the cart 😭
My discount doesn't apply to kittens who drain the vet fund within one week.(love him to death but chicken nuggets are not anywhere in the near future with his body as weak as it is.) Especially ones who should be RESTING or eating he's expensive (totally not drugged with meds) wet food.
I'm already ordering a HUMIDIFIER for him to help clear up his nose because he's scared of the running shower so I can't use steam. 😭
I got him a fish app for him to play but he keeps opening the McDonald's app instead.

I was thinking about while the kitten gets better getting different textures to get him better at eating. He managed au jus this morning which I think is just a little thicker than pate but the minced I have is LARGE thick chunks and I feel like that's a large jump. There anything in-between those and what would y'all consider the smoothest to thickest? Aka easiest to hardest to eat.

(the mom to the kittens is now fixed she wasn't supposed to be outside with a male but slipped out during a school bus run. They didn't think she'd been out long enough but she still got pregnant but didn't show much and surprised them with several)
That cat isn't fixed but they were told by her previous owner she can't go under anesthesia. There's no males old enough to get her pregnant and she's not pregnant (they checked with the vet). But she keeps grabbing the kittens and dragging them inside a box and not letting them out. It's becoming a problem but there's, as far as anyone is aware, no reason for the behavior.
Is there a way to get her to stop? I tried helping but I can't figure out why she's doing it. They are worried she's gonna hurt the kittens with how she's dragging them. She keeps grabbing them by the back or face not the scruff.

I saw a video with one of those cat foods that are from china. There's a brand there that LITERALLY says it's raw 80/10/10 for cats. The canning process cooks the food doesn't it? Wouldn't that make the bones dangerous? I'm obviously not gonna buy the food I'm not in China and I'm not paying no rediculous tariffs to get Chinese food here but that seems inaccurate.
It's not freeze dried it's pate. I just don't believe a brand can be raw and shelf stable if not freeze dried.

I'm working with him slowly. I tried giving him dry my sister had he couldn't eat it(he doesn't have very many bottom teeth at all I think that's the problem. He has a vet appointment coming up). He's being fed every 3-4 hours. The last couple cans of vibrant life have been... I think grainy is the right word? They don't wanna mix well. The amount of food he's getting at a time is too little for the blender to be helpful. (Aka blender too big). I'm trying different flavors seeing if it's just the turkey but the chicken was also like that. The others before were more mousse like and mixed easy. I have regular Fancy feast but idk if I wanna give him that rn with how much calories he's needing. He's finally eating well.

breakfast to be alternating:
Greek yogurt with granola or fruit
Rice cake with fruit(got chocolate because the regular last time I got it did not taste good and idk how to make it taste good)
Lunch: sauteed vegetables with shrimp or salmon
Dinner: pasta dish or make tuna salad
Work meal: fruit+yogurt or smoothie
If I add too much variety I might end up ruining a food for myself. If it tastes off one time I sometimes can't eat it again even if I want to due to my own brain. Trying to keep it simple and just change the seasonings.
I got the iron supplement to try again with taking them. Didn't know they had gummies. I'll try those instead of pills. The pills make me vomit. Got the lemonade for vitamin C because it contains a good amount and actually tastes good.
Idk how I missed it but all but ONE of the fancy feast cans has fish. He was having abit of vomiting and he only throws up for 3 reasons:
He's sick(vet checked he's fine)
Food contains milk(bought the ALS on purpose so there would be none)
Too much fish. He can have a little he can't have alot. (Bingo.)
I ruled out the first two. Checked the cans and low and behold 2 of the 3 flavors I bought has fish. Which means they are limited to small amounts 2 times a week if not eleminating entirely if I wanna keep fish oil or minnows for omegas in his diet. Too much fish he's always vomited. Two feedings is the cut off I set for him since he does LIKE IT. It just doesn't like him if he eats too much. Boy would eat my hand for a pure balance salmon tube.
I can't find another food last minute. He's a kitten(close to switching to adult food). I have PLENTY of the flavor he can eat everyday but I didn't buy rabbit or duck and I'm trying to figure out the budget with the new rent. Idk what to buy to replace the two so until I do is it fine if he eats mostly that flavor? I have to do a crap ton of research before giving a new food to him. Mostly reading ingredient labels 😭
I bought poultry and beef due to the can counts. But when looking online I see alot more of THAT particular 24 count box used. I have 3 cats. I got it for the can counts but is there a quality difference? I know fancy feast is decent I just don't know the difference between those boxes. Trying to make sure even on a budget I'm getting decent cans to stock with.
(Weruva and other similar brands are not in my budget besides as a treat can for one cat right now please don't hound me about quality. I'm trying to get decent stuff still)
Rn I have canned food basically overflowing (friend gave me ALOT) my drawers are full but I do NOT want to run out again with two kittens and the giant cat. How often do y'all with three cats restock wet food to avoid running out(I only feed wet). Idk if I should wait til it's half or stock a little every paycheck to avoid it ever getting to half. I'm always running out when I don't expect it.
He's a puppy. Pitt mix. He's been on the same diet as my older pup but I can't afford for them both to eat expensive food anymore(older pup needs chicken free food). Zeus has no health conditions besides needing gut support with probiotics for two more weeks(he came malnourished with his stomach messed up from the breeder) he does great on alot of things just idk how cheap I can go with his food. We are moving so I'm needing to lower expenses for abit. Store doesn't carry many things. They got Purina puppy chow, iams, and Purina one only. I'd PREFER to keep him on mammal or poultry based food if possible but if not that's fine. (Does not have to be chicken free for him) just don't wanna do fish based mostly.(ever had a cat raid cabinets for fish? 12lb beast named Lucifer says containers are overrated and can rip SO MANY different things open. I keep his minnows in a lockbox. No bag of fish smelling stuff is safe)
He's been cleared of all health conditions with the recent check up they just want him having the probiotic support for abit longer.
What would y'all use? I know any is fine I'm asking WHAT WOULD Y'ALL USE.
I got a BIG bag of dried minnows for very cheap from chewy. These things are huge tho. 😭 As much as my big guy loves fish idk how many he can have or how to break them up. (Yes these say for chickens they are the same as the ones for cats and dogs but 10x cheaper this bag was like $8)
NOT using dental to clean. I brush his teeth using enzymatic toothpaste. Asking about dental because some dental treats are longer lasting chews. I can't stand bully sticks the smell makes me sick and it makes their breath stink. Everything I looked at says he has to be a year old. He's kinda driving me nuts with his teething. Love him but he's bitey. He's 4 months old. I can't find anything he can have besides freezing his kibble after turning it into a mush and letting him go at it. I don't LIKE using his meals like that because it uses up his daily kcals and doesn't provide much relief (he also tends to be hungry later when I do that).
Specifically the VetriScience Extra Strength Gut Mega Probiotic & Prebiotic Health capsules? I ordered it and realized I should have asked if anyone had used it before ordering. I can still cancel if I need to get something else. Chewy gave me a gift card and I realized the normal probotic was low so I ordered that. It's for a dog with a chronic issue and one who just needs a probiotic for about a couple more weeks before reevaluation at the vets. I was told to give probotics to both. (One's issue can be fixed the other one I was told could just be lessened but could flare back up)

I'm tired of being disappointed because of them not ACTUALLY listening to what I'm saying. I have social anxiety and autism. I do NOT communicate well verbally. This new vet literally seems to be trying to rush me out even ending convos early before I finish speaking. I have tried writing everything down and handing it to her and she will NOT read anything given to her. Old vet gave me TIME to say what I needed to say and if I had to write it down he'd read it. He retired tho and everyone else I found seems to be rushing me out. I know my cat has allergies. What kind? Idk. There was no "let's try this medicine to see if it helps" or "let's try a food trial to see if it's food" the answer was literally that they had no idea and sent me on my way with the cat's eyes still watery and irritated.
I just wanna know if there's anything I should be asking before I even bring my animals in because this is getting me mad. It's $100 Everytime for what feels like an unfinished appointment
I'm getting it NEXT paycheck. Boy has a watering eye issue that is apparently allergies I think it HAS to be environmental because I did everything I could to avoid food sensitivities (I was told to rotate proteins frequently to help this and I have been!) but I wanna eleminate the other proteins I rotate thru rq to make sure. If there's any improvement dropping the other proteins I'll just get the boy something else but if there isn't and it's environmental we are moving to a spot with less dust and less rice pollen in the air soon so that should help.
Boy has had the eye issue in the past and due to timing of it happening I REALLY think it's environmental due to the rice fields out here. It's flared up both months that the tractors are out in the fields close to the house. He's clear for feline herpes already.
