Insurance- WTF?

Just got several quotes for 2022/2023 M3 LR.

I live 2 hours from Toronto, over 30 & have 1 speeding ticket for 20 over.

I’m being quoted $370-$470 PER MONTH.
For reference I pay ~$150 for a Toyota sedan & a 750 bike atm.

Broker said it’s cause any damage done to the battery = write off the whole car.

Are they even worth it? I’m paying $800/ month gas on my ICE car but there’s no savings to be had on a Tesla.

Any suggestions on cheaper options with a 500lbs range?

Is buying a used EV stupid when the government knocks $5k off the price of a new one?

I’m back after my last post about upgrading from an ICE vehicle to a EV, y’all convinced me.

Anyways leaning towards a Tesla model 3- long range. I’m seeing 2021/2023s on clutch for around $30k with decent mileage(under 80k km).

Is buying a semi reasonably priced pre owned EV stupid when the government has rebates for new ones?

Or is it not as stupid as spending $20k more to save $5k?

Titrate from 2mg to 3mg or 4mg?

Been on 2mg/ week for 11 weeks now.

This past weekend I really noticed the food noise coming back- I also smoked a ton of weed but still.

This morning I took 1.5mg, will this do? Or see how it goes & take more if necessary?

I dose twice a week if that wasn’t obvious.

Confirm my MOTS-C calculation?

10mg vial of mots

Dosing at 10units twice a week for a 500mcg dose each time.

Do I have this correct? First time reconstituting & want to be sure.

4th gen highway mpg?

Is it worth buying a 2018 for 95% highway use?

I’m trying to get in something more fuel efficient than my 05 Corolla.

How do I stop turning so wide?

Say I’m waiting to turn left; I’m in the left part of my lane, aiming for the left lane of the road I’m turning onto.

But as I’m turning it feels like I’m coming out super wide, going into the street parking of the road I’m turning onto.

How do I correct this? Do I need to go right position of my lane while aiming for the left position of the lane I’m turning to?

Only been riding a year, tend to just cruise but I want to get better at the nimble stuff.

ICE vehicle vs upgrade to hybrid; does the math make sense?

Currently own an 05 Toyota, spending ~$800/month(160km round trip daily) on gas. Fill up twice a week.
Insurance is cheap, do repairs myself.

It has approximately 320xxxkm- I expect to get another couple years out of it(~370xxxkm) before it becomes a headache. Could probably still sell it for $4500 certified.

Now with these crazy gas prices I’m considering a slightly more modern(2015-2019) Prius for around $20k.
Surface level research says 700-800km per tank on the Prius, so I’d be filling up once a week instead.

Assuming I put $5k down the loan on $15k looks like ~$350/month(48month loan), plus however much insurance would go up(I’m outside of the city & have a decent record).

I know this sub is super anti car loan, but how does the math sound? Or wait till the current car completely is toast then consider it?

TLDR; is it worth it to spend $350 to save $400 on gas + not drive an antique vehicle?

What will happen to the treaties when Canada’s population is no longer European descendants?

What will happen to the treaties when Canada’s population is no longer European descendants?

Heard this in passing the other day, that as our demographics change we will likely end up being a country of people who are not descendants of colonizers.

The new majority would likely resent treaties as they aren’t the ones who colonized/ agreed to the treaties?

Genuinely not trying to stir the pot- but what happens then?

What’s the tick situation in your part of the country?

Born in the mid 90s, south/ central Ontario,

Never saw a tick in my life until like 5 years ago on my dog, then didn’t for another few years until I moved into the boonies & found more on the dog.

Think we’re at like 2 for this year so far. They were just from playing on the lawn/ driveway. We are kinda rural.
Everyone I talk to is saying they’ve rampant due to warm winter. Now they’re even in suburbs & city areas.

I spray permethrin & we tuck our clothes in, but is this just life now? Are there ticks in Edmonton or Timmons?

*Successfully*

Bought some silver bars in January. Well, paid for them anyways.

Haven’t received a tracking number, there is no contact/ customer support for TD PMs, when I check on the order it just says “processing- may take up to 45days”.

When I tried to call TD banking & finally got through, they just hung up on me when I asked about my PM order.

#It has been 5 months.

I’ve ordered from them plenty with zero issue cause obviously they’re a big bank. The silver “rush” is apparently still causing delays.

Can I successfully file a chargeback against TD for this? I’ve never filed one before so I’m curious.
