I’m a 28-year-old male from Maharashtra, currently exploring arranged marriages within the Brahmin community, and I’m looking for some genuine advice.

I’ve often been told that it’s better to marry someone from a similar or slightly more modest family background. Many people say that marrying into a significantly more affluent or “better” background can sometimes lead to challenges later—due to differences in lifestyle, expectations, or values.

I wanted to understand how relevant this is today.

Has anyone experienced a situation where the man comes from a middle-class background and the woman from a more well-off family?

How has the experience been in terms of compatibility and long-term adjustment?

What factors should one really focus on beyond financial or social background?

Also, as a Brahmin from Maharashtra navigating the arranged marriage setup, I’d appreciate suggestions on how to approach this process practically.
