My Take On Ghost Rider (Without Zarathos) vs Joker (Highballed)

My Take On Ghost Rider (Without Zarathos) vs Joker (Highballed)

Johnny can matched and temporarily got the upper hand against Danny Ketch who at that time had completely absorbed the power of every Spirit of Vengeance that exists save six hosts, which amassed enough power to dethrone the Skyfather Yahweh and rule over creation, with Zadkiel utilizing that power was capable of shaking Hell, Heaven and Asgard in the process (Infinite Layers into Outerversal). Became the King of Hell, imbued with it's total power after dethroning Mephisto, who's strong enough to dwarf Ragnarok and stalemate a satiated Galactus. Making it consistent with Johnny w/o Zarathos pushing back and matching Galactus after the former just consumed a planet.

Possess God Physiology and Basic Magic, which grants Ghost Rider High-Outerversal resistance to existence erasure and thus, immortality negation for being able to kill other gods. Living in a state where fate and coincidences do not exists to resist causal manipulation, Hellfire which negates durability and target the soul and power nullification to counter Joker's haxes, can manipulate concepts and resists reality warping from Null.

Why Sentry Wincons are GREAT + Debunking Larp

Knull no-diffed Sentry. Proving that his immortality is inconsistent and can be negated

Probably the most dishonest and overwhelmingly annoying argument I've ever come across and consistently see is this so-called "anti-feat" from InterestingRatio's. Let's set the record straight here: anti-feat just means a contradiction to one's feat of ability. A clear example we can see is something dying to bullets despite being capable of tanking a nuclear bomb, or getting blitzed by a human in spite of showcasing the ability to dodge and react to supersonic attacks.

Yes, I admit it, we admit it's true. Sentry did get torn apart by Knull and DIE. However, occasional anti-feats do not meaningfully undermine Sentry or any character if they're INCONSISTENT. As virtually all heralds possess inconsistencies or situational losses that can be used to downscale them, focusing heavily on his defeat against Knull comes across as somewhat disproportionate.

Knull is portrayed as an extremely powerful cosmic threat capable of contending with a Herald of None Thor, who is the same guy being depicted killing what actually is the strongest version of Galactus while at the same time holding his own and killing a Black Winter during the process, and Knull himself slew three Celestials while they were initiating the Big Bang of 7th Cosmos. All of which would put his feats at Multi-Eternity tier, a realm encompassing the House of Ideas, if not intimately close beaneath it. EVEN THEN, Sentry’s situation during his encounter with Knull is also important contextually as the narrative strongly suggests that Sentry was not operating at full resistance and willingly accepting death rather than fighting to persist.

Even if we take it that he was physically overwhelmed, the implication that his destruction was not an absolute limitation of his power, but a reflection of his psychological state and desire for release. Him literally coming back later in comics reinforces the idea that his defeat was not permanent or fully representative of his upper limits, of course, this is even before mentioning the fact that Knull is the Lord of the All-Black, which has insane immortality negation and existence erasure capable of wiping out all gods across all of time and space, a feat unachievable even through the power of the House of Ideas. Imagine SBP gets his ass dogwalked by Presence and I called it durability anti-feat usable in argument for his battle against Sentry?

Was Sentry's immortality negated? No. Is it anti-feat if it were true? Also no. So why not we drop this ridiculous argument because I'm sick of it.

Molecule Man's power level varies in psychological states

So does Hulk’s strength scaling directly with his rage, Thor with how much he's willing to hold back and Gladiator’s performance being heavily influenced by his confidence, why be critical about it now? Variability of power tied to mental or emotional condition is a well-established pattern among high-tier characters. It is not a unique trait or weakness, even Sentry operates under a similar mechanic where his strength is also affected by his psychological stability. And to be completely fair, Sentry was most likely, no DEFINITELY more unstable than Owen here. This took place during Dark Avengers, where Sentry was kinda like.. idk, super unhinge? Like I really don't how to convey it properly you just gotta read the comic yourself. He was tweaking like every five seconds, actively working under Norman who quite literally manipulated him working alongside criminals and not to mentions the series was a story building up directly to the events of SIEGE, which if you know is basically Sentry crashing out on Asgard. Despite this, he was still able to rapidly adapt and demonstrate matter manipulation after being unexpectedly erased more than once, and overpowering Molecule Man in the process.

Should Sentry actually gain God Physiology?

As outlined above, there is little reason to dismiss this interpretation outright. Within Marvel, Angels are beings function similarly to other established divine pantheons, such as the Asgardians of Norse mythology, the Olympians of Greek mythology and various higher-dimensional entities like Hell-Lords. Angels are likewise portrayed as operating within explicitly divine realms, including narratives in which forces of Heaven engage in war with Hell, further reinforcing their status as part of a structured theological hierarchy.

In this context, the Void’s characterization as an angel is not inherently inconsistent. It has also been speculated that the Void and Sentry’s power source may be connected to the Judeo-Christian God or alternatively that Robert Reynolds is empowered by a comparable divine or analogous cosmic force.

This is further supported by the broader presence of Void-like entities within Marvel cosmology. Figures such as Knull, Chaos King, Nyx, the Tiger God, Griever, etc are all associated with abyssal or void-based aspects of existence and are treated as divine or godlike within their respective frameworks. These entities often function as representations of layered or overlapping voids between higher planes of reality, reinforcing the idea that “void” itself can be a structured and multi-tiered aspect of Marvel’s cosmology rather than a singular absence.

Sentry can't even resist his first retcon of his own book

MOTHERFUCKER CAN WE STOP WITH THIS NONSENSE?! It's literally just memory wipeout to the entire world out of SENTRY'S OWN WISH AND EFFORT. Please read the goddamn book because the argument is just so silly it doesn't make any fucking sense. No reality was affected, no causality was written out and the huge retcon in question refers to the contradiction in Marvel's entire lore to justify his existence. A problem.. only us, the real life humans reading the comic face not canonically exist.

Sentry can resist Retcon Punch

Sentry's Feats and Resistance

  1. Sentry has repeatedly endured attacks from Thor's lightning even one that was amped by the Norn Stone. This is particularly noteworthy because Thor's lightning is the brother of the Secret Fire within Marvel's Norse myth, which is the source of the Light and the Stories and where all stories were forged. As in myth, so too in Marvel, as these forces are intrinsically tied to the creation of the House of Ideas. A connection further reinforced during Loki's ascension as the God of Stories, where Odin affirms that Thor's lightning is ultimately destined and capable of extinguishing the Secret Fire itself.
  2. Sentry has endured blasts of pure Yggdrasil-derived magical energy wielded by an empowered Doctor Strange. This is particularly significant given Yggdrasil's role within Marvel's cosmology under Al Ewing's interpretation. The World Tree serves as the physical representation of the Kabbalistic philosophical structure underpinning reality, with it's branches and roots permeated by stories that flow through every character, setting and realm of existence.
  3. Sentry also demonstrated partial resistance to Wanda's reality/narrative-altering effects during the House of M event. Not only was House of M stated to affect the entire Omniverse (likely Multi-Eternity), but the feat itself can be viewed as scaling either above or below the House of Ideas depending on one's interpretation of Marvel's cosmology.
  4. Sorcerer Supreme Loki explicitly admitted that he could not and doesn't know any way to stop him. Given Loki’s status as a Sorcerer Supreme at the time and an already High-Tier Sorcerer comparable to Strange, this carries significant weight as this level of mastery is typically associated with access to high-order magic, including spell manipulations over conceptsplot structurecausality and countless other examples.
  5. Sentry, like many of Marvel's more unique entities, possesses an unusual physiology. In Robert's case, this is reflected through his connection to the Void, his dark counterpart and alter ego, which has demonstrated characteristics consistent with Angel Physiology. It has been described as the Angel of Death and was even portrayed as one of the divine agents sent by God during the original Passover, tasked with carrying out the death of Egypt's firstborn.
  6. Last but not least, Sentry's provided with God Physiology, as it's described that the a war between Angels and Spirits of Vengeances would be a war between Gods. If you've already the clicked the link, than I bet you should be somewhat impressed by sheer magnitude of abilities and resistances that God Physiology provides. Regardless I'll be listing only the most useful resistances to SBP's arsenal and Retcon Punch.

Retcon Punch Overrated
Despite it's hype and visual spectacle, SBP’s Retcon Punch is often overstated in discussions of comic book abilities and fictional power scaling in general. To properly evaluate it, it’s necessary to examine each instance in which the Retcon Punch is actually used and consider the context and limitations surrounding those feats.

Example #1, Example #2, Example #3, Example #4, Example #5, Example #6, Example #7, Example #8, Example #9, Example #10 and Example #11.

Firstly, I think it's important to consider the context surrounding these examples. Points 1 through 7 all occur under circumstances involving direct cosmological interference or instability. Instances 1–3 and 7 take place during Infinite Crisis, where Superboy-Prime escapes the Paradise Dimension amidst the collapse and restructuring of the multiverse itself. Likewise, points 4–5 and 11 occur during Death Metal, a period in which the Darkest Knight had already reshaped and aligned the Last 52 Multiverse, fundamentally altering the cosmological landscape and potentially influencing how Prime's abilities functioned.

Point 6 is also somewhat distinct, as it involves Prime breaking free from the Phantom Zone, a separate dimensional construct rather than a conventional example of reality manipulation or (meta-)narrative alteration. As for points 8–10, I would argue that they are not examples of retcon punches in the traditional sense. In those instances, Prime is shown escaping Doomsday's pocket universe and physically forcing his way through time itself. While undeniably impressive, these feats are portrayed more as demonstrations of basic dimensional travel than direct acts of narrative reconstruction.

As such, you have to account for the context that actually enables those feats to function. Superboy-Prime’s large-scale reality warping or retcon effects only occur under specific conditions typically involving external dimensional instability or Crisis-level anomalies. During Infinite Crisis, for example, the Paradise Dimension was already destabilized and the resulting effects were chaotic and random, rewriting aspects of continuity in an uncontrolled manner. Similarly, in Death Metal, the convergence of the Last 52 universes created a highly abnormal cosmological environment and it is within this context that Prime was able to alter a single Superman’s home universe. A a feat that visibly strained him and nearly proved fatal when he escalated the effect against the Darkest Knight. This suggests his ability is not a form of consistent on-demand narrative control but rather a conditional power that is both situational and costly to use at scale.

No, it's definitely fair Sentry and Prime to tie in overall physical stats

Saw a post saying Prime should definitely gain stats, while here I am to disagree completely. I mean the dude has like Beyonder scaling with several Outside feats and Omniverse level arguments ffs. Let's begin with low-tier feats:

For starters, even during his earlier appearances, Sentry can physically contain a Cosmic Cube with his bare hands. An incomplete Cosmic Cube served as the source of power for the OG Beyonder while fully realized Cosmic Cubes such as Kubik can surpass and humiliate his defective peer outright. It's power can also enslave multiple Celestials, threaten the stability of the Multiverse, reshape vast portions of the Omniverse and rival the power of the Infinity Stones themselves, which are artifacts intrinsically tied to the structure of Eternity that are fully capable of hurting him.

However, with comic book scaling you can get him significantly higher such as when he matched World War Hulk in a direct stalemate. Notable considering Hulk at that point had already demonstrated enough strength to rival and shatter Onslaught’s armor even after it had been amplified through the power of Franklin Richards. Franklin possesses enough raw psionic and reality-warping power to mentally reshape the entirety of the Nexus of All Realities, a structure interpreted as rivaling the scale and scope of the White Hot Room. Fairly consistent with the time Sentry knocked out Blue Marvel, a character who effortlessly dispatched a Beyonder while also shown capable of no-selling an attack from Phoenix and matching her blow-for-blow with her inside the White Hot Room.

Additionally, Bob scales to Thor across multiple appearances, particularly during events such as Siege and various Avengers storylines, with one of his most impressive feats is matching King Thor. Thor has shown multiple feats of affecting and damaging Yggdrasil multiple times, such as when he shattered it's roots during a rampage, overpowered an engine that was empowered by it, shook it's entire structure with his cries as a baby and defeated M.Y.T.H.O.S who harbored it's full power as well. Even then, Sentry should bare minimum easily upscale Unworthy Thor, who was strong enough to hold his won against the assault from the Beyonders.

As merged Sentry, who accepts the Void as part of himself, he now seems to to possess the power of both his alter egos combined. As seen with how he went from losing to easily killing his former sidekick Scout. This is impressive since The Void was strong enough to overpower both Doctor Strange and Loki simultaneously, two of Marvel’s most powerful sorcerers. With said version of Strange had already received a permanent amp from the World Tree, meaning he should scale above his previous baseline feats at minimum. Those feats alone include repeatedly stalemating Dormammu, outmatching House of M Wanda and perhaps most impressively, singlehandedly halting the collapse of the Nexus of All Realities. Similarly, Loki is also shown to be an equal to Strange, and on his own can outclass the Enchantress, a sorcerer who once threatened the World Tree with her magical prowess. Not only that, the Void could dogwalk the Hulk not just once but twice, the same Hulk who can usually match Thor and bloodied Beta Ray Bill, who endured similar impressive beatings from Thor as well, making his scaling overall consistent for Sentry.

It should be very clear by now that Bob can go toe to toe and scale towards the very upper echelons of his own verse. I've yet to mention the time he overloaded the Absorbing Man, who had no problem absorbing the power of a Cosmic Cube, Dormammu's Enchantments, the Odinpower and Quasar's Quantum Bands or when he overwhelmed Molecule Man, the same guy who was strong enough to defeat the original Beyonder and usurp the power of his entire race while critically unstable at the time. He's shown capable of flying through a symbiote possessed Celestial with ease, casually kill the Cancerverse, overpower the combined strength of Beta Ray Bill, Captain Marvel, Gladiator, Quasar, Darkhawk and Smasher, easily kill Ares and match Genis-Vell, a guy who was strong enough to kill Multi-Eternity with the help of Entropy and later killing Entropy afterwards to revive Eternity. Better yet, going back by scaling him to Hulk and Thor, whom at their peak can break chains of the Omniverse while the latter could overpower and kill Demogorge, an Eternity level being considered to be the strongest amongst all the Elder Gods. I can also go back back to his scaling with the Beyonders, who only took three of them to wipe out the Multiversal Abstracts.

Particularly specific Devil embodying the concept of a star's luminosity (CSM Country level consistency)

Sun's Luminosity Output

The Sun's output as roughly 90 petatons, but that's not actually the amount of destructive energy the Sun is producing in a conventional sense but mostly refers to the Sun's luminosity or the rate at which it emits light and radiation.

The Devil in question specifically embodies the light of a star that drives children insane. While I don't agree with the idea that Devils automatically scale 1:1 to the full scope of their concepts, we consistently see them weaponize aspects of the fears they represent. The Bomb Devil creates explosions, the Typhoon Devil generates massive storms and the Falling Devil manipulates gravity and falling itself. As such, it is reasonable to argue that a Devil associated with a star's light could directly weaponize stellar radiation.

Even the faintest main-sequence stars possess immense energy output, with red dwarfs ranging from roughly 0.0003 to 0.07 times the Sun's luminosity.

  • Low End (0.0003 Solar Luminosity): Approximately 1.1484 × 10²³ watts, equivalent to 27.44 teratons of TNT (Country level).
  • High End (0.07 Solar Luminosity): Approximately 2.6796 × 10²⁵ watts, equivalent to 6.40 petatons of TNT (Multi-Continental level).

From there, one could safely argue that Primal Fears would scale above such a Devil, given that they are consistently portrayed as existing on an entirely different level from ordinary Devils and embody fears far more deeply rooted within humanity.

Is it consistent?

Well, this is fairly consistent when taken alongside the Gun Devil's 100% mass kinetic energy, ranging from 1.7 - 138 teratons (Country to Large Country), as well as weakened Falling Devil's mere presence producing energy outputs ranging from 8.5 teratons (Country level) to approximately 1.98 petatons (Continental level) and Yoru weaponizing Michigan State (A highly contested topic I know). I think this is fairly consistent for Country level scaling in CSM, however but still not so much for Continental.
