Is the Trimui Smart Pro S a good choice for me?
So I'm torn between two budget handhelds: the Trimui Smart Pro S (~$47 / ₱2,700) and the Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini (~$97 / ₱5,600). My reasoning for getting the Pam is PS2 and GC specifically Silent Hill 2, God Hand, and Resident Evil 1 Remake (GC).
The Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini runs Android with a Helio G90T. PS1, N64, and Dreamcast run great, but PS2 and GameCube require a lot of tweaking and even then results are inconsistent (According to my research).
The Trimui Smart Pro S is even more clear-cut cause it runs Linux on an Allwinner A523, and reviews flatly say it's not a PS2 or GameCube device. It tops out reliably at PSP/Dreamcast/N64 level. Half the price.
Here's my logic though, if PS2 and GC performance on the Ayaneo is janky anyway, why pay double? I'd rather just grab the Trimui for everything up to PSP/N64 and call it a day, it handles that range perfectly fine.
So is the Trimui just the obvious pick here, or am I missing something in this price range, or maybe the Ayaneo is actually viable for PS2 and GC?
