Close Ups of Tide Pools - Cape Blanco, Oregon

I never get tired of the tide pools.

This is Cape Blanco, Oregon on the north side of the cape. Taken in July 2026.

I use a high powered zoom to get interesting close ups and angles that bring out all of the glory and strangeness of the tidal zone.

Getting really unusual ads today - lot of sex and drugs - some of it seems illegal

FB stock is falling off the cliff. It seems their response is ads for really questionable items. Just today I have been shown several sex related ads. This includes a sex doll advertised as a relaxation device and really scamy performance enhancing drugs. I have also been shown what appears to be illegal drug sites and all kinds of cult like stuff.

The ad quality went way down since yesterday. Anyone else finding this or am I just unlucky today.

Sunset at Chickahominy Reservoir, Oregon June

Sunsets at Chickahominy Reservoir rarely disappoints.

The blotches in the photo are from swarms of insects - luckily the kind that do not bite.

Is a Make Noise DPO still a best in class?

I couldn't find any recent answers to this question.

I have the opportunity to get a a Make Noise DPO at a really great price. But I could also get something else. Is it still a "must have"?

It always seemed out of my price range so i have never thought much about getting one. But it is clear from what i have been reading that as of at least a few years ago this was on a many a rack.

thanks

UPDATE:

In case you are wondering...I am trading in an old high end mic-preamp that I no longer use. I have a decent chunk of credit to spend but they only have a very limited selection of modules. So I really don't have a lot of choices. I really need some oscillators and filters but there wasn't much there that I wanted. Then I saw the DPO and thought what the hell. In some ways it is kind of free and I am really just here to make sure this wasn't an outright stupid way to spend my money. And it sounds like it is still a reasonable choice.

Thanks all!!!

Final Update:

First I want to apologize for using the term "best in class" I know this is not literally true and I meant it figuratively. I certainly did not realize how strong a negative reaction it would get. I am sorry.

I keep going back and forth. Now I am leaning toward getting 2 Intellijel Dixie II+ and a Tiptop Audio Fold Processor. It costs about the same and should be pretty versatile. Again my selection of modules is so limited - maybe 10% of what is available out there.

Thanks again

Sharing Dinner!!!

This dragonfly landed next to me and spent the next 10 minutes munching on what looks like a fly or bee of some sorts.

Notice the dinner guest? There is a tiny little fly also feeding on the bug the dragonfly caught.

Beginner question - is my tofu still good

New to Tofu. I took some out of its package and put it in a mason jar covered with a marinade made mostly of soy sauce.

It has been over 5 days.

Generally I wouldn't hesitate to eat something sitting in soy sauce for 5 days - like a hunk of ahi tuna -but Tofu is still unfamiliar to me and I get the impression it doesn't last long after it is unpackaged.

I'd rather not get sick while trying to eat healthy. Advice??? Thanks...
