Popular music copywright: youtuber song use question

This might be incredibly stupid to ask, but I follow a lot of creators that will just use top 40 music constantly in their videos.
Are they buying the rights to every single song or just taking the hit with no adsense?
Or is there some secret third option like a popular catalog you can subscribe to?

I use epidemic and although I love it, sometimes I just want a banger beat that I cant find anything similar to.

The youtuber im specifically thinking about is David Dobrik. I know he has more money than god but hes been using copywright music from the beginning so i figured Id ask if theres a subscription model / site I just havent heard of.

*(not to be a discussion on if you like or dislike the youtuber mentioned. I dont care about that I really just want to know if theres more mainstream music subscription options or if the only way is actually just to buy each song for a buttload of money)*

Just bought the Insta360 Luna Ultra, kind of dissapointed.

(Rant for Android exclusive users): The camera is great, lets get that out of the way. But when it comes to file transfer it is incredibly lacking.
After a bit of trial and error and more error I searched my problem online and found a thread where I360 support verified that wired file transfer to android devices is not yet a supported feature.

I hmm'd and haww'd between the Luna Ultra and the similar DJI model for about a week with a pro's and cons list, and when they came up pretty equal on both ends I decided to take the plunge on the Luna Ultra. HOWEVER, now knowing that they only support IOS wired compatibility (which is not advertised anywhere), I am pretty upset because that would have been the clear deal breaker for me as I don't own any apple devices.

How can such a new 2026 release still treat half the devices out there like an afterthought? I expect this from 2016, not 2026. Especially with a company that markets itself as higher tier beginner cameras.

There is one post on here where someone managed a workaround with a frankenstein monstrosity of a multiple cord and USBC dock and external harddrive rig but its kind of insane that something so inconvenient and third party (especially on the go) is required instead of the obvious plug and play it should just do.

A wireless 4+ hour transfer when insta360's line is meant for on the go content creation and management just seems insane to me.

Kanagawa Help for Monday 17th:

I need to go set an appointment for a license exchange in Kanagawa (📍 1-1-1 Nakao, Asahi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa 241-0815)
As my Japanese is not great, I read online I need to bring an interpreter. This is only to set the appointment, I can find someone else for the actual appointment date since I don't know when that will be until I make it.

Would anyone be willing to meet me there and help me with Japanese<->English? Appointment setting is 2pm-3pm every weekday. Id imagine the line itself is quick as its just to set appointments and not to actually do anything more.

Id pay your round trip train fare, and I can do 4000 yen ontop of that. Please let me know as Ive been putting this off for a while and just need to get it done.

If anyone could help me out id be incredibly grateful

Season 8??? New director?

First time watching TWD and Im binging season 8 quite quickly because I want it to be over.

New writing staff? New director? What the heck is up with these poorly coordinated future/past flashbacks and callbacks?

Am I dumb or are they incredibly hard to follow?

Also, the weirdly scripted face close up fading montages ?? They add literally nothing to the story and are just weird.

I've known since before I started that the running theme is it turns into one of those Dexter style shows that lived long enough to watch itself become the villian, but the stark difference between season 7 and 8 is just shocking. I expected a more slow descent into the car wreck than what I'm getting?

Not sure if this is a spoiler or not so I'll label it as such just in case.

Still love the show. Just finding myself browsing Reddit during the slow burn or artsy for no reason parts.

I hate not knowing. Where's all the aliens.

Id be absolutely furious if something silly like the generation right after me gets to know and I don't. Heck, with how long the history of the planet (and I guess humans) are I'd even be pissed if I missed it by 10 generations.

Tech is getting better. Science is getting better. Humans are getting smarter. If it's not pure luck from another species finding us, it's going to be because we found them.

And I just want to be like "🥹☺️nice."

Curiosity and all that. What are they like ? Are they carbon based? What does this mean for us? Will people smarten up and work together as a planet or will we continue petty squabbles.

I don't care if I'm 90 when we find out. I just want to know (while simultaneously being a little jealous of all the younger people who get to see how it all plays out).

Sendai Residents: really fun experience or fancy dinner?

My partner and I are going up to Sendai for his birthday and I want to book something really nice for him.

Last time we were there we had a set course at the Westin which was nice but unfortunately that's the best my search skills could do.

Is there any really "wow" excursion you've done in Sendai that you thought was worth the money? Like a helicopter ride around the city core or a boat dinner?

Kanto has these things (and reviews) aplenty but I'm really looking for personal experience to know it genuinely made your special day a nice one.

I'm only there for 3 days before I have to come back down to Tokyo so I want to do something special.

🔥 Hot ▲ 6.4k r/mildlyinfuriating

I went to the hospital because I genuinely thought I was dying. Turned out it was my first ever panic attack.

Waste of my time. Waste of the doctors time. Waste of everyone's time. I'm so embarrassed and mildly infuriated that my brain would betray me like this and cause more stress.

I was sleeping when it peaked so it woke me up and I had no idea what was going on. I thought it was the medication I recently started on because I drank the night before and assumed I was overdosing or something insane.

Rushed to the doctor. Got many tests. Just a severe panic attack.

I wonder what I was dreaming of that caused such a reaction to start in my sleep...

I think I found a gold mine

These are all different types of flour (except for the yeast bags). They even had ALMOND FLOUR! I haven't seen that since my home country. On the other side is bulk bags of every spice you can think of for a reasonable price.

It was one of those kiosk shops in the Northport mall at center Kita (Yokohama).

Worried about my neighbour ?

There's an old man that lives beside me and his house is, I don't wanna say dilapidated, but from the outside it is very clear that there's too many unsealed windows for him to reasonably have aircon inside.

Some of the windows appear to just be tarps stapled down to keep the rain out, though I can't be sure what's going on on the other side.

It's HOT. And everytime I see him, with my limited Japanese, I'll make small talk about how hot it is and he always just does the "youre telling me!" Old man agreement reaction and that's it.

I'm worried with this insane heatwave it might be getting too hot inside his house. I know he's probably lived here for decades and doesn't need anyone coming to the rescue but I can't fathom how hot it is over there. I have 3 aircons going constantly and my house is still hot to me.

Is there an old person "check up" service here? Maybe a Japanese service he would feel more comfortable confiding in about any struggles he might have? He lives alone and I'm worried he's suffering in silence. It feels like one of those situations where he would accept help if it wasn't directly.

I might be overreacting but I stg this man is like 90 years old just dehydrating into a raisin over there.

Yokohama for reference.

Ive heard Americans have to pay tax on any winnings (Lottery, game show, prize, etc.) so I was wondering how that works?

Not the actual "how do I pay taxes", obviously if the prize is big enough youd get an accountant to figure that out for you, and if its small enough im sure most people just dont claim it, but I heard Americans have to pay tax on any winnings they get (so Id assume thats lottery plus stuff like Game shows and Mr. Beast videos) and it got me thinking, when you buy a lottery ticket in the US, do you pay tax on the purchase? or is it tax free because eventually whoever *wins* the prize pays the tax on it? Or is it just double taxed coming and going??

Im just curious if there's some double dipping action going on because that doesn't seem fair.

Super quick/ easy electives?

Ive completed all of the compulsary courses and now I just need a few electives to reach 30 credits. Ive applied for MPLAR but I am still waiting for a response and it's been months so im not feeling very confident in getting that back any time soon. I figured I'd might as well try and beat the MPLAR assessment and just finishing the electives since I have time to kill anyways.
I am planning on leaving the country soon so I'd like to get this sorted asap.

What are some easy/light electives? The subject doesnt really matter as im not interested in getting a high grades or finding my passion here. Im in my 30's and just want my OSSD before I move out of Canada.

Cheers

Funny story: "hey, maybe I have it too!"

When I (21) first got diagnosed with PCOS I was telling my older brother (22) about it. He's a bigger guy. My issues were less weight related at the time and more just everything else (really bad acne, no periods, hairlossz etc.). I was chubby but my brother was definitely the big teddy bear of the family.

I was explaining to my brother that it could cause intense weight gain in some people and getting it under control really helps with weight loss (among ranting about all the other things that it could help fix). Half paying attention he goes "hey! Maybe I have it too!"

I then spent the next 5 minutes explaining that it's an ovary / female metabolic condition.

We both had a good laugh at his short-lived revelation.

That was 9 years ago and were both at a healthy weight now. I think that's one of my core memories with him. The excitement he had that we cracked the mystery as siblings for this genetic condition that definitely must have affected both of us.

My creator fast track (INVITATION FROM FB) was accepted after applying and then immediately taken away. Someone pressed the wrong button and got my hopes up😅😭

Fr Facebook. Why invite people in the first place. I got a long winded email about how I qualify and should apply. Only to not actually qualify.

Switching visas, does my current visa expire immediately when new visa application is accepted?

I want to switch from my working holiday visa to a student visa (before you jump at me to make sure I can do that, I have already contacted immigration and have confirmed with my nationality a working holiday to student visa is possible in country without requiring a COE).

My question is the timeline of my current visa. It expires at the end of December 2026. I am looking at a January start date for the school and program I want so applications are starting now. My problem is since I don't require a COE from the school and will be managing the visa change myself at immigration, it still has to be initiated on the schools end in July.

If I apply for a student visa now, am I able to keep using my working holiday visa until it's expiry or will it automatically void the WHV? The school wants me to apply for the visa exchange now, but I'm worried it's too far from the study start date and would have to leave Japan, which would ruin the whole thing because I'd be reentering without a coe. Also the 6 month timeline is for people requiring a COE since it takes time to process. Without a COE the exchange only takes a few months.

I'm trying to time this out so that I hopefully don't have to leave the country and apply next year with a COE.

If anyone has experience with this or knows the rules better than me I'd really appreciate some feedback!

On a post about the "red light district" in Japan. Assumes everyone travelling to Japan is American and therefor doesnt need a passport to go to Tijuana (which is worst because its not true).

The poster himself is Canadian and the commenters are from around the world because its a page meant for tourists coming to Japan.

Don't forget to take pics! Only 3.3kg between photos but SO much bloat and inflammation is gone...

You can really tell because my back rolls and tummy have gone way down but my arms and thighs are very similar. I kept thinking I made no progress because I have only lost 3.3kg in 4 months according to the scale (hey, I'm not complaining, it's better than gaining, but I was still bummed considering I'm paying an extra monthly water bill for this).

But I couldn't help but feel like I was wasting my money by going so slow...

These pictures really snapped me out of it.

Pic 1 is Feb, pic 2 weeks ago.

NSV: sooo happy my boobs don't look like they hang downwards anymore because of how my bra used to sit on my bloated tummy.

H: 152cm (4'11), sw: 73kg (160lb) CW: 69.7kg (153lb) age: 30.

Clothes are different because I figured the change was so crazy that the difference can be seen regardless of clothing type.

Disclaimer : I have PMOS / PCOS so a lot of my weight issues are inflammation and insulin induced. Someone without underlying metabolic conditions probably won't have similar issues and fixes.

Is this lip filler, lip flip, or some other procedure?

Top drawing is my current lips. Not an intense cupids bow. More of a thin curved one.

I want the "princess peach" curved upper lip.

I've never had filler or any augmentations so I'm not sure if filler is the proper way to address this.

I'm not just going after more full lips, but I'm looking to completely change the shape of the upper one.

Any insight is helpful! Thank you.

I have flavour fatigue for EVERYTHING.

a bit of a rant
I know GLP's have a fun little side effect with addiction and making those receptors less active but its gone a little too far with me imo.
Half the fun of eating is planning/preparing something youre excited for.
I need to make supper. I havent been hungry all day but you cant just *not* eat. I still need my minimum 1400 (fasting is not something im trying to do because I dont want to lose weight too quickly).
But when im thinking about what I can make nothing excites me enough to motivate me to actually cook. Not because im lazy but because when I think about eating it im like "meh". Like theres no craving or anything.
Ive had a basic bitch chicken and veggies for 4 days in a row now because I dont actually *want* anything, so I might as well just make whats the most nutrient dense.

Idk. The closest thing I can relate it to is flavour fatigue. Like when I eat too much of something and I dont want it anymore. That doesnt mean im not hungry, it just means I dont want *that* thing. I just did a grocery run, its not like im low on stuff I love.

Anyways, first world problems. Sorry for the rant. I guess im just finding the act of eating as an annoyance now, whereas before it was something I looked forward to. I dont want to lower my dose or looking for advice. Everything else has been amazing. Its something I kinda just wanted to yell into the void.

(if it matters: 1.0mg dose, month 5 in total. SW:76kg (168lb) , CW:69.7kg (153lb) , 152cm (4'11").
