Saw they were set building today (Lost Boys set builders) and making Fitzroy House into a library and there were signs ready to go up on the old Lloyds building, changing it to Florin Bank.
I’m guessing it’s probably Grace?
Filming locations are given as Sussex and Arundel, plus Surrey. So the house could be in any of those locations but googling seems to suggest the house is likely to be Surrey. Just really liked the style of the house and wondered if it still existed. The first picture is the front of the building and second photo shows a car pulling into its driveway, the stone pillars are the entrance and the cottage is across the road from it.
A few of my plants would prefer a humid environment and I’ve recently bought a fine mist sprayer but it’s soaking everything else around the plants. Am I being dumb or is that just an accepted side effect of keeping the plants happy?
Seen while watching an early 1980s horror movie ‘Screamtime’. An earlier section of the film is in Eastbourne and the third section shows this house which I think is more likely to be in Brighton as that segment stars Dora Bryan and David Van Day who were both living in Brighton at the time.
Not very clear pictures as I just quickly snapped them from the tv but the house had a name of ‘Normandy’ at the front.
I really miss this kind of reality tv, when it wasn’t too scripted and self aware. I still follow Mark Jenkins on Facebook, bless him.
I’m in the U.K. so needs to be something I can buy here. I am sweating more than ever as I am in perimenopause and if I try and go out with my husband for a walk etc I am finding I’m on the verge of fainting a lot and needing to snack to keep me going.
I can’t take conventional electrolyte drinks that have strong flavours in them as they cause me an MCAS reaction.
I was looking for a sex scene from a James Spader movie. I was convinced it was Crash but having watched it again today the scene isn’t in it.
I thought he was having sex with his wife in it, he’s mostly naked, she’s partially clothed (maybe stockings on). He’s sat on a chair and she’s on top of him.
I have only seen a few of his movies and with this scene being quite explicit that led me to think it was Crash but seems not.
My phone won’t connect to iTunes on my laptop any more and I like to use it to make playlists of my music. Google suggests my iOS might be too out of date and I’m gutted as I really don’t want to upgrade. I have the latest on my iPad and I hate the glass format.
My 12 mini has been struggling with overheating and battery health has hit 80% so I hope this update doesn’t finish it off!
Got a strip of lawn that never grows very well, it’s on the shadier side of the garden but gets afternoon sun. It’s also chalky but with clay soil on top (from a raised bed that we levelled) so want to try clover in that area instead. This year we had hundreds of daisies grow there which we left until they went over but the grass didn’t really fill in at all.
Any recommendations for which brand of seed to go for or is it potluck?
Used in episode 1 of Francis Durbridge’s ‘Bat Out of Hell’ TV series from 1966. The sign says something Manor and in the series they call it Lincote Manor.
It’s a fairly big order and was expecting lots missing with all the fridges and freezers conked out from the heatwave in the supermarkets but I’ve got everything I needed. Was starting to get worried as recovering from an op and can’t get out of the house so it’s a big relief.
I’m 47 so an older than average for removal. Had 3 wisdom teeth removed last week, including an impacted one. The area over those gums is still very tender and painful if I accidentally touch them (not dry socket as the symptoms don’t fit) and I’m guessing it takes us a lot longer to actually heal from these things.
Also unlucky enough to have an injury to my lingual nerve so feeling especially miserable today.
Had surgery last week to remove my wisdom teeth. Had a GA with it and it seems to take me such a long time to start feeling somewhat normal afterwards.
My husband always says I take double the average time but I swear it’s longer even. Just end up feeling groggy and out of it if for days on end.
Had 3 wisdom teeth out on Tuesday. Have had a totally numb tongue on one side since then, trismus on the other side (I already have TMJD) and awful heartburn and nausea from the antibiotics I’m on. My face is very bruised and it’s going down my neck. The swelling is subsiding one side but not the other. Keep tasting a small amount of blood as well. 0/10. Do not recommend.
Especially noticeable on white bedsheets. They are usually thinner stripes than this but this one is quite large.
The rubber seal around the door in the machine is a mid tone grey so I’m not 100% sure that’s the cause?
Felt a sharp pain while showering this morning and pulled this out. Area where it was feels a little sore and tender now.
Just watched the series on Rewind TV. Surprisingly never heard of it before somehow. Wanted to look up some of the filming locations but there’s not much info online.
I need a natural mattress, no memory foam or latex. Needs to be around 25cm so my fitted sheets fit it plus I already have a tall bed frame and don’t want to make it higher.
I am hypermobile so I need it to be supportive but cushiony soft on top, hence no memory foam as that sets my joints in uncomfortable positions.
Last couple of mattresses have been Silentnight but don’t seem to have an equivalent any more than I can see. Also getting overwhelmed with choice and don’t know what companies are reliable any more!
It’s a long time since I’ve been to the station and they were down a lot of steps and you paid for them, about 50p or similar. Then they seemed to be permanently shut.
Can’t get a clear answer online and I’m a really nervous traveller so like to know all the details before hand.
Went on holiday here in the mid ‘90s with my best friend’s family. I can’t remember the name of the hotel or exactly which part of the island it was on. I have no photos of the outside from the front but they had a pool and it was next to the road, not set back. They had a small restaurant at the front side that had covered outside seating.
The only outside shot is on our balcony so some of the view is visible behind me.
Edit to add: we travelled to the Old Town a few times by taxi so had to have been within about 30 mins from there by car.
