Hello,

I am currently staying in a nursing home while I recover from hip surgery. As a former caregiver of 25 yrs the activities department at the facility goes above and beyond.

I was at Bingo last night and noticed that they had a list of items needed. I put it all in an Amazon wishlist and was sure to ask the mods before posting.

I had a chance to speak to someone in activities and the different strength reading glasses and popcorn and crafts really seem to excite her.

This place has been really great and I'd like to show my appreciation.

A little Marion update. She is now halfway into book #5. 🤩

It’s been a month since Marion’s 99th birthday, and she’s still receiving cards and gifts from Crawlers — including one all the way from Switzerland! Every single one still makes her smile.

While visiting her this past weekend, I showed her how people use Google to search for things. We typed in, “Who is the oldest DCC fan?” She was absolutely stunned when her name came up. Watching her discover little things like that has been so much fun.

Thank you again for the incredible kindness and generosity of this community. You’ve made the past four months some of the most exciting and joyful she’s had in years. 🥰

Last update for a bit. It’s official… today Marion turned 99 years old. 🥳

What started as a simple post about a 98-year-old discovering DCC somehow turned into one of the most joyful experiences she’s had in years. She loves every nickname — the real-life Elle McGibbons, the Tundra Queen, the Dungeon’s Grandma — and still smiles with equal parts pride, shock, and amusement over the more than 40 cards and gifts sent by Crawlers (including two from Canada), along with hundreds of comments from all over the world.

She spent the last two days celebrating with family and friends, including her 7-year-old great-great nephew who shares her birthday.

Thank you again for making Marion, who may very well be the oldest Crawler, feel so seen, celebrated, and loved. Her family keeps saying how much this community has opened up her world, and we’re deeply grateful for that. A special thank you to our friend, Angela Rivera, who motivated us to share Marion with this incredible community.
