Playing KSP for the first time since the 2020: Jeb and Bill's first Mun landing was upgraded to a permanent Mun residence!

I haven't played in years and since I've got a new PC I decided to reinstall the game. After some small issues remembering... pretty much everything I managed to perform some basic LKO missions, so I finally decided to go for the Mun, and everything was going fine... until it didn't.

I was a bit greedy and since my lander has lot of Delta-V, I tried to land near a crater. I wasn't really able to manouver my low-TWR lander quickly enough and soon Jeb and Bill found themselves sliding sideway down the Mun surface at 24 m/s. Everything exploded... Except the habitable module and the landing legs. They even have a docking port (too bad is facing the Mun, not the sky...)!

Still, that's now a base on the Mun!

I will send Bob home tomorrow (he was waiting in the Orbited in LMO) and I will attempt a rescue mission with an autonomous lander.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has possibly the best scenery on the system [early-game screenshots]

Taken with the Switch 2 screenshots button, so compressed and only at 1920x1080. On the actual TV it looks even better.
