Freedom Mobile’s $40 Plan — Taking the Free Roaming Benefit Around the World !

Off on another 30-day adventure and once again putting Freedom Mobile’s included **50GB international roaming** to good use!

**I am on $40/month with 250GB in Canada/US/Mexico + 50GB international roaming.**

This trip:
🇮🇸 Iceland
🇬🇧 UK — Edinburgh & London
🇲🇦 Morocco — no Freedom roaming agreement yet
🇪🇬 Egypt — Cairo & Luxor
🇬🇷 Greece — Athens
🇮🇹 Italy — road trip

I’ve used the international roaming benefit on previous trips, so I’m curious to see how it performs across another six countries. I’ll report back with coverage, speeds and which local networks Freedom connects to.

**Gotta love a benefit that’s already included in the plan!**

Any updates on Apple CarPlay iOS 27 video playback while parked?

Has there been any progress on video playback in Apple CarPlay while the car is parked?

I know this has been discussed before, but I’m wondering if there have been any recent updates or if it’s on the roadmap.

It would be great to use the car’s display to watch videos while waiting or charging, without needing to use the phone.

Any news from the UHF developers?

Why can’t a household member see all investment account and credit card details when accounts are shared?

I’m trying to understand the logic behind the household/shared account functionality.

If I add a household member and choose to share my financial accounts with them, I would expect that person to be able to see the same level of detail that I can see, especially for investment accounts and credit cards.

Instead, it seems that the household member may be able to see that an account exists, or see limited information, but not have access to the complete account details, transactions, holdings, balances, statements, credit card information, etc.

What is the reasoning behind this limitation?

If the purpose of household sharing is to give both people visibility into the household’s finances, it seems strange to have a “shared” account where one person still has significantly less information than the primary account holder.

I completely understand the need for privacy controls and different permission levels. But there should arguably be an option such as:
View only — full details
View balances only
View transactions
Full access / joint ownership

For couples managing finances together, having to log into each other’s accounts just to see the complete picture defeats much of the purpose of household sharing.

Is anyone else finding this limitation frustrating? Is there a reason the platform doesn’t offer full read-only visibility for shared investment accounts and credit cards?

Has anyone else noticed how long Wealthsimple fraud investigations can take?

I’ve been reading more and more stories from people whose Wealthsimple accounts were flagged for fraud or compliance reviews, and one thing seems to come up repeatedly: the amount of time people are left without access to their money.

To be clear, I’m not questioning the need for fraud prevention. Every financial institution has an obligation to investigate suspicious activity and protect customers. My concern is what happens after an account is flagged.
In many of the cases I’ve read, customers describe:
Being locked out of their accounts for days or even weeks.
Receiving very little communication beyond “the investigation is ongoing.”

Having no estimated timeline for resolution.
Missing bill payments or losing access to funds they rely on for everyday expenses.

For a platform that’s increasingly positioning itself as an all-in-one banking and investing solution, this feels like a significant customer experience issue. If someone keeps their entire emergency fund or paycheque with Wealthsimple, an extended account freeze could create real financial hardship.

I’d love to see Wealthsimple invest more in:
Faster fraud investigation turnaround times.
Better communication and regular status updates.
Temporary access to verified funds where appropriate.
Dedicated case managers for customers whose accounts remain frozen for extended periods.

I’m curious whether this is just a vocal minority online or if others here have experienced similar delays. If you’ve gone through a fraud review, how long did it take before your account was fully restored?

Has anyone received the 07/2026 Remote Software Upgrade for iDrive 8.5 yet?

If you have, I’d love to hear what you’ve noticed.

Did BMW provide any release notes or changelog? Have you found any improvements, bug fixes, or new features?

If you can share a screenshot of the update notes, that would be awesome.

Thanks in advance!

Clean phone holder solution for the 2026 i4

This is by far the cleanest and most affordable phone mount solution I’ve found for the 2026 i4.

I found this holder on Amazon, and I’m honestly surprised by how well it works. The original kit didn’t include a fast wireless charger, but it’s so well designed that it fits most MagSafe chargers perfectly. I added a Qi2/MagSafe fast wireless charger separately, and it turned out even better than I expected.

The first photos show everything that came with the mount. The wireless charger was purchased separately. The last photo shows an alternative that someone suggested—a cable running all the way across the center console. I personally prefer keeping the interior as clean and factory-looking as possible.

What do you think?

Has Anyone Heard If the UHF App Will Support Apple CarPlay?

Hi everyone,

I’m curious if anyone knows whether the UHF app is already compatible with Apple CarPlay, or if there are any plans to add CarPlay support in the future.

Being able to use the app directly through the vehicle’s infotainment system would make it much more practical and safer while driving, especially for those who use it regularly on the road.

Has anyone seen any announcements, development updates, beta versions, or comments from the developers regarding CarPlay integration?

Thanks in advance for any information!

When will EV charging on utility poles begin to be implemented across Canada?

The pictures show charging systems that are currently in use in Australia.

Why Is Plug & Charge Adoption Moving So Slowly?

Why aren’t more EV charging providers and automakers implementing Plug & Charge faster?

The technology exists, it makes charging significantly easier for drivers, and it eliminates the need for apps, RFID cards, and manual payment steps. Yet support remains limited across many charging networks and vehicle manufacturers.

What’s slowing adoption down? Is it technical complexity, certification requirements, business incentives, costs, or something else?

It seems like universal Plug & Charge support would be one of the biggest improvements to the EV charging experience.

I have to agree with many people here: Freedom sucks.

I’ve been trying my best, but I just can’t seem to burn through all 290GB of my data. Streaming, hotspot, downloads, road trips… nothing works.

At this point, having too much data is becoming a real problem. 😂

Why is the Wealthsimple iPad app so bad?

Is anyone else frustrated with the Wealthsimple app on iPad?

I’ve been using Wealthsimple for years and generally love the platform, but the iPad experience is disappointing.

The app runs on iPad, but it doesn’t really take advantage of the larger display. Most screens look almost identical to the iPhone version, with a lot of unused space and very little additional functionality.

For an investing platform where users often review portfolios, charts, and account activity, I’d expect a more tablet-friendly interface by now.

Has Wealthsimple ever commented on plans for a proper iPad-optimized experience, or is this just not a priority for them?
