Tips for improving my workflow with the tools I have available. Read below.⬇️⬇️

Hi, everyone! I'm using my iPad as a second monitor, but I'd like to be able to use the touchscreen. I've heard that this issue has been fixed in the new iPadOS, but aside from that, I'm not sure if you have any other recommendations for software I can use to improve my experience in the mixer window, or for macros that let me perform a function with just one tap. I’ve heard of Cubase IC Pro or even Metagrid, but I haven’t tried them yet. If you’ve used this method or are still using it, what has worked best for you?

Hi, I'm a Mac user and I don't want to use AnyDesk anymore, but I don't know how to completely uninstall it without leaving any traces. If anyone knows how to do this, please help me.

I found a hidden folder in Macintosh HD > Users > username > .anydesk

I’m not sure if that folder is also part of AnyDesk, so I don’t know if I can delete it. In the video, I show everything inside that folder to see if anyone can tell me if I can delete it completely.

Does anyone know what this "unsupported architecture" issue is caused by and how I can fix it?

Hey, everyone! I wanted to ask for your help with something.

Hey, everyone! I wanted to ask for your help with something.

I’m studying audio and am currently learning about equalization (EQ). I more or less understand the theory: I know the types of EQ, the parameters (frequency, gain, Q), I know what the filters are for, and I understand the concepts when they’re explained.

The problem arises when I have a mix in front of me.

For example, I was given a mixing exercise using only EQ, and I realized I’m completely lost. I don’t know which track to start with, what I should listen for first, what my goal should be when equalizing each instrument, or how to make all the elements work together.

I watch a lot of videos where they demonstrate cuts and boosts, talk about cleaning up frequencies or creating space between instruments, but when I open my session, I end up asking myself: “So what do I do now? Do I start with the kick drum? The vocals? The bass? How do I know which frequency to adjust and why?”

I feel like I understand the tools individually, but I struggle a lot with the practical process and decision-making involved in a real mix.

Do you know of any videos or resources that have helped you move from understanding the theory to actually applying EQ in a real mix?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Help me!!

Hi everyone, I’ve been suffering from tinnitus for several years now. What I’m about to share isn’t anything new, but I’ve never mentioned it in a group before: every time I scratch my forehead, my right ear, or my left ear, a strange sound occurs that I don’t know how to describe, but it only lasts about 2 seconds after I’ve scratched myself. I don’t know if anyone else has experienced this or if it has anything to do with tinnitus; I can also make my jaw make a sound by moving it without having to open my mouth very wide; of course, sometimes it hurts, but usually it doesn’t; another thing that really scares me is that, suddenly, the tinnitus in my ear intensifies and becomes almost deafening for a few seconds before disappearing; This doesn’t happen all the time, but when it does, it makes me very nervous to think that I might go deaf. It's worth noting that I also suffer a lot from a runny nose and allergies

I don't understand the "ratio" setting on the compressor; I'm new to this.

I've tried to understand the "ratio" parameter on the compressor, but I still don't get it. I know it indicates the degree of compression, but, in theory, I'd like to understand it. If anyone would be so kind as to give me some examples with the same threshold and ratio set at different levels, that would be great.

Organization

I installed Cubase and noticed that the "Audio" and "Auto saves" folders were created inside Documents. Actually, it didn't happen immediately after installation, but after I opened Cubase for the first time, created a test track, and then closed the application.

I’m new to Cubase and would like to have a well-organized folder structure from the start so I don’t get lost among my personal projects and my audio class projects.

What folder structure do you all use? Where do you usually save your Cubase projects, recorded audio files, backups, and so on? Do you leave them in “Documents,” create a dedicated folder on another drive, or use some other system?

Also, since the track I created was just a test and isn’t important, do you think I should delete the “audio” and “auto saves” folders and start over by first creating an organized folder structure?

Thanks.

Hi everyone, sorry if this is a silly question—I’m asking out of complete ignorance. I see that at the bottom, where it says “cache files” (archivos de caché in Spanish), it shows 7.87 GB. Does that have any effect, and if so, where can I delete it? Also, do you notice anything strange in the image

Does anyone know why those two additional apps I pointed out are there? Do they serve any purpose, or can I delete them and just keep Logi Options+?

Recommendations for Free Plugins and Virtual Instruments

Hello. I'm looking for recommendations for freeware plugins and virtual instruments for an academic research project. I'd appreciate it if you could share the names of some top options, as well as the developer or company behind them; if it's not very well known, it would even help me spread the word. Thank you.

Folder organization, structure, and naming conventions

Hi! I'm setting up my file organization system in Cubase, and instead of looking for the "right way," I'd like to know how you all do it to see which style best fits my workflow.

I’d like to know:

  1. How do you structure your projects? In which folder do you place them, what do you name that folder, and do you put that folder inside a general projects folder?

Backups: Do you prefer to keep auto-save files and backups inside the project folder, or do you move them to a separate folder?

What has worked best for you in the long run to avoid ending up with a mess of files, to be able to move projects between drives without location errors, and to keep everything looking visually organized?

Any real-world examples of how you organize your root folder or project subfolders would be very helpful for me to compare and adjust my own system.

Thanks!
