What is your take on me (16) going to a doja concert?

Like the title says I'm trying to go to a Doja concert with 3 of my friends and 2 parents in November. All us girls are really big Doja Cat fans and one of the moms is an active listener as well. I'm trying to find a way to convince my parents to let me go. It's slightly more difficult because 1) they aren't really doja fans personally (mostly js the style of music) and 2) the concert we want to go to is in Dallas 11 hrs from where I live.

We're already planning on covering our part of our tickets and hotel costs so that's a big factor. We wouldn't be flying so that's not something we have to worry about. I think the most difficult part will be convincing my parents that the drive and concert would be great for us to bond together especially since we can't hang out much after having moved schools etc. Both parents that would come with are very responsible and know if a concert would be too inappropriate. We're all older teens who are responsible and understand the concepts of some of Doja's music without participating in the things she talks about. She's an artist that is really empowering about womanhoodand being a woman and is literally helping girls get into coding careers so I could use that as a helping factor.

BASICALLY- how can I convince my parents to let me go to her concert with my friends and responsible adults and if I proposed this to you would you let me go?

LMAO EDIT: WAIT YALL THE DRIVE TIME WAS SO OFF IT'S ONLY 11hrs (I was remembering based off where I used to live). Also, this is a route my parents and I have frequently driven. We used to live in Texas and now visit quite often down this same general route. 3-4hrs for my friends and I to go do something in the area I live is also pretty normal because we live in a pretty desolate and boring area. No, the midwest tour dates do not work because two of the people in our group will be in vacation those days.

EDIT 2: THANK YOU FOR EVERYONE'S SUPPORT, CONCERN, AND ADVICE. Y'ALL ARE SOME OF THE BEST FANBASE COMMUNITY EVER. I can clearly gather that while I'm at a pretty decent age for her concert the biggest drawback is drivetime so we may look into flights. Otherwise I just hope for the best ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

My alarm volume continuely lowers itself someone please help!

This is a reoccurring issue and it has made me late to school and practices several times. I use a P9PRO and this has become a nuisance because I know I'm not accidentally touching the volume buttons like some people say.

I always set my alarms to max volume with vibration and keep my phone on my nightstand. There are days when the alarm works and days where it doesn't making it hard to track. I DON'T use the bedtime routine stuff or flip to shh because that's what I thought was originally causing this issue. I DO use a sleeping mode that goes from 00:00-04:00 with my alarms being at 04:45 but I don't see how that could affect it. I also connect my Bluetooth to a speaker/CD player at night for Spotify.

I did get a volume lock app so we'll see if it works but it's still not ideal. I don't how my alarm is being affected because it is so random. Please help! I'm getting tired of explaining why I'm late to coaches and the front office.

Stupid profile name thing won't work. How tf do I fix it

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OMG TS PMO.

Everytime I try to change my profile it either 1) only shows part of the name or cuts it (ex: say I put "Tina's Crochet Animals" it cuts it to just "Tina's" or only shows up as "Tina's" in comments. This has never happened to me before and it's pissing me off. Or 2) after like three times trying to fix this cutting glitch it'll just stop letting me change the name. Period. It shows the "error could not change display name" or whatever. I'm not even putting inappropriate display names or going over the limit so why is this happening???

I've tried deleting cache and forcibly restarting the app but it just won't work.

Ummmm where are all of ZB's songs????

First song of the playlist isn't ZB and the entire mix, A ZACH BRYAN MIX, has ZERO ZB. Wtf is happening??? Never happened to me before but I am on vacation in Florida if that has something to do with it? I find this weird as I can still listen to all his music from his artist profile but his mixes and radio have none of his songs??

A rant about my emotionally abusive mom who doesn't know I'm bi :D

Sooooooo this is gonna be great and a little long 😃👍 Please read though this is very important to me and kinda? my safety.

I (15F) have a mom and dad that are the type of parents who hate literally anything about gay people. Sure they'll tolerate working with them cuz they have to but supporting anything LGBTQ+ related - Hell. Fking. No.

My mom is the worst about it because she already threatens me a lot with different things and makes me feel terrible; always been this way since I was little. Two weeks ago she threatened to sell me again (this is a reoccurring thing that I'm getting increasingly worried about) for being "rude" and "ungrateful" - literally asked her politely if I could hang out with my friend after school is out. She also has a habit of just calling me a $lut and h00ker for how I dress??? (Streetwear and grunge mostly but I wear a lot of dresses in the summer too)

Behavior like this is not uncommon from her especially with a lot of authoritarian dynamics in our household. I.e. "I gave you clothes, food, toys, vacations, etc." "You don't get to ask anything back cuz I'm the parent", hitting, yelling, beat for little things like trying to defend myself ("talking back"), the whole book of things. I also got told that if I ever came out as gay (ironic cuz I'm bi🫪) I'd be thrown out and disowned.

My bsf's mom is nothing like this and she treats me like one of her own kids. My bsf and I are extremely close and I love her mom so much. She's so supportive and nice in a firm, tough woman but extremely loving type of way. She's never once judged me, only corrected me when I needed it or nicely advised me on normal things. She also supports LGBTQ+ with her daughter (my bsf who I secretly like ( ꜆⌯' '⌯)꜆ ) being bi as well.

I'm mostly asking for advice in this post cuz I almost came out to my mom but then she went on a whole rant when my brother asked about getting Nike clothes saying, "No we don't buy from stupid ass LGBTQ+ whatever and entitled black people & their BLM supporters". When I tell you my jaw almost dropped- 💀 She might actually be going insane. Anyways- this scared me because I almost came out and now I can see exactly what would happen if I did.

My parents' constant abuse is beginning to become too much and I can tell now that I'm older this isn't normal. Should I look into confessing stuff to my bsf's mom (she is trustworthy)? Should I move in with them if my mom threatens me again? Idk what to do really.

Anyone else having issues with Berry Avenue not letting them through the doors of people's houses and when you're in a car, certain areas of the map?

A couple of my friends and I noticed today that some of us, including me, weren't able to walk through the doors of people's houses even when the door was "open". I had to literally carry my friend into my house for them to get thru the "wall" and do the same thing to get out. The issue also occurred when we were driving. There would be some kind of invisible wall you'd run into in the vehicle but then if you got out and walked it'd be fine. Also notcied that the shoulder part of the avatar editor wasn't working. Is this js us or are other people having this happen?

A message to my fellow teens struggling on Mother's Day ❤️

I see you. Today is a joyful day for many, but there are those of us who find this day to be bittersweet. I want you to know there are people out there who get you. Maybe you don't know your mother, she left, she passed, or your parents divorced. Perhaps you're like me and the relationship is very difficult and borderline not ok, or you cut contact, or you're adopted now and still adjusting. Whatever the case, you are not alone and we are here for you.

You are not obligated to be close to your mother if she hurt you and it's alright if you want to be close but can't. If there is a woman close to you that you see like a maternal figure, celebrate with her on Mother's Day. Show her you love her for what she is to you. Remember, you are your own person and no one can shatter your confidence. <3

Are my parents abusing me somehow? I can't really tell but it doesn't seem normal.

I know this is long but please read I've been scared lately so this is important

For context: I'm a teen and yk we all have phases where our moods are just everywhere. I can control my mood pretty well, though I have a temperment sometimes (comes from my dad :/). I used to have a decent relationship with my mom but I can definitely say I've always been closer to my dad, despite him having issues as well (i.e. hitting me). Our family dynamics have always been very authoritarian with any "talking back" aka defending one's self seen as disrespect. Both of my parents did spanking and hitting for like lying and breaking stuff (usually not on purpose) and that was since I was a kid, but I don't know how much that really plays into anything.

Over the past 5-6 years (I'm 15 now), I've grown apart from my parents, my mom especially, and it's mostly due to her and my dad fighting all the time and then her trying to constantly pick fights with me and belittle me. Idrk if my dad is bad cuz he just hits me which I think is better than having derogatory things told to you. My brother hasn't really ever caught any heat and that's the worst of it cuz he's done things that I would've had the shi beat outta me for like breaking stuff in school and disrespecting teachers. Ik this cuz I've been hit for having one gd bad grade

What made me write this post (I've thought abt asking for awhile now) is today I was driving to pick her up from work and discussing how my two friends and I are fundraising to pay for plane tickets to go to Florida where my friend's grandma is gonna pay for us to go on a cruise. We were wanting to hang out after school gets out and I asked if I could go to the sleepover she's planning to talk about the cruise. My mom randomly decided to flip out (like wtf) and said I was demanding shi once again instead of asking (I did ask and politely too). She then proceeded to calm down and say yk what I'm going to sell you (not the first time I've hear this) and I'm scared she'll actually act on it soon.

I've come to realize that a lot of the things my mom says and does are nothing like how my bsf's mom acts and talks with my bsf. They're actually really close with one another and even joke around and I think that's always something I've been jealous of. Her mom loves me like a daughter and I wish at times she was my mom as well so I do think if I needed to I could ask her for anything.

Anyways, the things my mom does have made me resent? her in a way. I don't think we ever truly had a trusting bond between one another because I've never told her anything like what you see in the movies (first crush, favorite songs, hobbies, dreams, mental health). I didn't even tell her abt my period until 3 months later and she only found out abt my mental health issues (3yrs ago) when she went thru my phone. Even now, I still don't tell her anything because I think I'm afraid of her? I'll likely drop dead before even mentioning being bi in front of her.

It doesn't seem too bad when you think of it just that way but I think what kills me most is what she says. I've been told numerous times that she is going to sell me or put me in foster because she is sick of me and it's gotten to the point where I'm not sure if she's lying or not. She also said that my mental health issues aren't real and I need to knock this gen z "I feel really depressed" shi off. Wearing a normal crop top and jeans shorts - Nope can't leave the house without hearing "you look like a hooker" "ghetto" "Stop being a slut" Ironic as I've never even dated it's simply one of my styles (streetwear and acubi are usually when I hear this the most).

I'm terrified to tell her I'm bi for my bsf because she will kick me out cuz she and my dad both said if I ever came out as gay or anything, I would be disowned or sent out in the streets. Hitting isn't uncommon for her either though she's stopped doing as much because she realized I'm not really affected by it anymore. The last time she hit me she broke the gd stick. It's mostly just slapping my face or yelling disgusting shi at me now.

There are times when we have good days even weeks which makes me feel good. That's why I doubt myself even more cuz yeah her and my dad do get me nice things and clothes. They also take me on vacation. But then it always comes back to this cycle. Their "I'm never wrong and you're just trying to make me the bad guy" or "I'm the parent you just a child" complex is usually what kills it. Idk if this happens in most families? Should I be worried about finding somewhere else like my bsf's? Possibly authorities? Or is this just something I'm thinking is wrong and in my head?
