So I am someone who doesn't read urdu books that much so i need some urdu book recommendations with interesting writing and storylines to get into urdu literature

1- the writing should be easy for a beginner

2- The book should be less than 400 pages

3- No Ahmed Aunties book recommendations, please.

4- I am open to every genre except horror

5 - The book should be a standalone

6 - No poetry books

I remember there used to be a spreadsheet which had numbers of how many audiobooks/e-books/physical books each libraries had . but i mostly listen to the audiobooks more , so i was wondering if there is any spreadsheet ( really recent or with frequent updates ) where i can see which library has which media more before opting for a libary card.

Even tho I'm glad they have light pastel colors but I'm hoping they would add more 3 colors .

I'm sure there would be people like me who assign colors to quotes / emotions .

So if the libby staff is seeing this , take this as a feedback .

Please add colors like light purple , light blue and light orange . Or any more pastel palate ones

Hi everyone, I used to watch alot of dubbed Turkish dramas during 2018 and then due to their long and messy episodes I lost interest in them . Recently daha 17 edits started coming on my insta and I wanted to get back into Turkish dramas . I kept liking edits but one thing I noticed was The boy playing Aras's baby face . I mean he do have physique which looks more manly than the guy playing teo, but he looked young . So I search his age and got to know he was around 17-18 when they filmed the drama. This made me very uncomfortable now that I see it , why are people making his edits with Leyla who is an adult in her 20s. I want to say that I am NOT against a woman being older than man in a relationship. I do enjoy a lot of kdramas and cdramas with this dynamic. But my problem with age gaps are when one person is a minor , irrespective of gender.
Then the girl playing Deniz is also 2006 liner paired with 2002 liner. Which makes her around 18-19 when she filmed the drama paired with 22-23 year old actor playing teoman. But this one , I can let it slide because she was in her late teens.
So , In short I wanted to ask whether the viewers are okay with this? Is it acceptable in new Turkish dramas ? And also should I really give daha 17 a chance because I love watching youth focused , friendship and brotherhood/ sisterhood focused drama.

I LOVEDDD the interview and I wanted to know what everyone thinks about it . So let's discuss it . For those who don't have time to watch 1hour long interview , these were the interesting things he talked about ( although , i do reccomend watching the interview )

🐨-"It is really not that easy not to be interrupted by all those shorts and reels and clips.
It makes me really nervous and keeps making me feel like I have to do something every day

I don't have TikTok, but Insta Reels are addictive af.
The scarier thing is how my brain can't remember what those videos I scrolled were!
"I have to leave something" reminds me of our digital footprint. The constant struggle to make our presence known in the digital spaces, as a medal, like yeah I existed back then . Likes, comments to show our presence or else the page will refresh lol. Endless scrolling, before we can register and articulate one thought / one video, another one pops up. Everyone is doing something; I used to think like that, but now I think everyone shows their productive days; no one shows their lazy filler days on the internet. Whenever I get off social media, I feel depressed; the effects are so bad . Wasn't social media designed to keep us connected? Now it's playing a part in isolating us from the outside world.

🐨 - And I think I had a tough time for a long time just admitting it because when I was in my 20s, I thought that I should have, like, an edge and I should be defined and described as just like one edge. But as time, passed by and I got to realise that a human being and an identity could be really, it's always , so much of a complex and complicated, and it was all about, the contradictions and, dualities. So I'm still fighting with all those contradictions: how much should I reveal myself to the others, to the public, or how much should I hide my privacy? I'm still, I'm still figuring out, like, what to show and what to hide. But I think the best way to reveal your real things is the art itself. For me, it's music. So, I'm trying to reveal my bad things and demons I want to spit out, uh, as music. I suppose that's what people can really relate to as well cuz there is no such thing as a completely pure person.It's amazing that when we see the great artists, their personal story could be universal

Don't ask readers this question; we can't choose, and sometimes we don't remember which of our first books sparked our reading interest.
We just remember that we LOVED reading books

This !! I would ALWAYS support libraries as much as I can.
In small cities, where libraries are non-existent. So if you find any libraries in your city, please make sure to help them keep it active or organise events they would love to collaborate with students. Some of them might have a small catalogue or a limited selection of old classics, but something is better than nothing.
Another thing is that you can DONATE your books to the library too!!
Don't let them sit on your shelves; keep the circulation within the community!

🐨 -a leader is... it's like, for example,everyone's lying on the couch and the window is open and it's too cold. so someone has to close it. but no one wants to because it's so comfortable lying here on the couch. it's such a hassle. one single person has to get up, get off the couch and walk a few steps to close the door. so I think that's what a leader does for all parts of the team. that's all it is.

Why do you always need somebody to talk to or to go for a trip? Could you just let yourself be alone for, like, a week? And because I sometimes feel it's really hard to just do nothing and just be on my own. But friends, I think sometimes they're everything. Family and friends and art, of course, music, architecture, books and art. There are lots of hills that I always have to rely on. And that's the exact point.

I love how balanced his thinking is . You can't be isolated all the time; neither can you socialise. And even balancing both is hella exhausting.

this reminded me of seoul from mono. "if love and hate are the same words, i love you seoul." He keeps coming back to the idea that the opposite of love isn’t always hate. Sometimes the strongest emotions exist because we actually care so deeply in the first place.

🐨 -When I was young because I was like, fashion is everything. Like clothes ,it's the best way to express yourself. I think as I got a little bit older, I've learned how to really really respect somebody's taste and a way of expressing themselves. It's really important because we just habitually judge other people just by the looks and the fashion.

This made me think about how, now, when we look at our old photos , maybe from 2016 , we cringe . But what can we do about it? It was popular back then, and we wanted to look cool . 2016 me was also a piece of myself; maybe in future , I would look back in 2026 and have the same feeling . but in both era , I was expressing myself .

🐨 -The word sometimes a language or a single word could define your entire world. So just my obsession with a word, normality. That was one of the best ways to, like, get away from it. Like, you should be normal. you should just be one of them because I am living like a strange life. But as I got to like obsessed with like, oh, I want to be like a normal person. Like I just want to be one of them. And as I got so obsessed with it, but it I just I think it just runs away from me even more. So, I just I'm I'm trying to stop thinking about normality.

Hi everyone, I don't know if it's a place to make this request this . But I have been seeing people putting their amazing sites here .

Many people like me have more than 5 library cards . so for audiobooks and e-books there is a website where we enter all our libraries and it helps us know which library has the book available with wait times .

So i was thinking if someone can make a website in which we enter our library names and it can help us locate whether our library catalogue has the film /movie / documentary or not . it will be easier as , we don't have to switch libraries again and again

hello , i am new to Calibre, and i was having problem with my pocketbook app on Android, so i wanted to convert my ARC copies to epub/pdf so i can read them easily on my phone and would be able to annotate as it helps me to review .

I downloaded Calibre, installed DeACSM plugin and DeDRM plugin, and authorized Adobe Digital Edition . the acsm file is still not conveting , can someone tell me what i am doing wrong?

Hello everyone, I started learning crochet last year , made little projects like keychains, star , moon , bow etc.

Then it's been months and I have no motivation to pick the hook up. So give suggestions what I can make to start again . Do drop tutorial video or picture along for reference!! ( Again saying , I'm very noob , maybe I forgot crocheting lol ) Also I can't read crochet chart with symbols :(
