Hey everyone,
I just had to share this because I’m still in absolute shock at how this went down.
I’ve been hunting for a specific Omega for a while now, bracing myself for months of scrolling through Chrono24, eBay, and sketchy forum listings. Out of curiosity, I decided to use an AI tool to scrape local dealer inventories, private listings, and watch groups within my area.
Safe to say, the robots delivered. Within 48 hours, it located the exact reference I was looking for, just 15 km (about 9 miles) from my doorstep.
Picked it up today, and the seller absolutely spoiled me. It’s a complete set and came with:
Freshly serviced (running like an absolute top)
5- year extended warranty (massive peace of mind)
A bundle of extra original Omega straps
Honestly, using AI for watch hunting feels like a cheat code. Has anyone else tried this, or did I just get insanely lucky?
Cheers!
Hey everyone,
I just acquired this massive piece from the German microbrand VDB, and I couldn't be happier. It’s an absolute tank on the wrist, but the craftsmanship is incredible. It’s from a limited run of only 60 pieces made back in 2018.
Here are some of the quick specs that drew me in:
•Dimensions: 46mm x 55mm x 16mm (definitely not for the faint of heart, but wears with massive presence).
• Case & Bezel: 316L stainless steel with a subtle brownish rotating bezel.
• Crystal: Curved, anti-glare, uncoated sapphire.
Water Resistance: 1000m with a safety helium valve.
• The Movement: This is the cool part. It’s running a Swiss ETA 2824-2, but it's a Special Chronometer stage, adjusted and refined with a Glycodur balance and custom, numbered bridges. On top of that, it’s chronometer certified and approved in Glashütte.
It came on the standard black rubber strap, but the seller threw in an extra green canvas strap with a VDB screw-type buckle, which completely changes the vibe.
Would love to hear if anyone else here watches or owns a VDB? They don't pop up very often!
Ended up with this after a multi-watch trade. Flipped it onto the wrist a couple of days ago and haven't looked back since
To be honest, it wasn't even the main piece I was after in the trade, but curiosity got the better of me. I decided to give it some wrist time just to see how it wears, and it completely took me by surprise. The dimensions are perfect, and it catches the light beautifully. It’s safe to say it’s staying in the collection for a while. What are your thoughts on this model? Does anyone else have one in their rotation?
What it’s your opinion on this watch?

I have this beautiful IWC 3205 18kt, cal. 3254. Great condition.
I don't know much about it, as I got it in a trade and had it verified. Chrono24 can’t help.
Can anyone help me with an approximate valuation? Thanks a lot! 🙏
I started my humble collection five years ago with an initial investment of 10,000 DKK. At the time, it felt like a significant milestone, a small but meaningful step into a world I was eager to explore. What began as a modest hobby fueled by curiosity has since grown into a dedicated passion.
Looking back, those early days were all about learning the ropes and making careful choices with a limited budget. It is incredible to see how much has changed over half a decade; the collection has evolved from a few foundational pieces into something much more substantial and personal. It serves as a constant reminder that every great journey starts with a single, disciplined step.
