I am just going to try lying to myself all of the time

I am seeing a doctor, we are running tests, I am getting taken care of.

I'm going to try just telling myself my pain isn't real and my brain is making it up. I am going to see if that helps. It's not like I am fully ignoring it and not seeing a doctor. I am getting symptoms evaluated. Radical ignoring is what I'll do while my doctor does the rest. I'm going to gaslight the shit out of myself.

I'll update!

I really need some advice for getting out of this loop right now so I can get work done today

There was a ct scan result that came back that is extremely rare in my age group. Most older adults with this exact finding have this finding ignored. Younger adults get a hormone workup and do have a higher risk of this finding being more notable. However, the exact details of my finding are reassuring.

Last night I googled the finding and added my age and got pretty deep into searching because of what this can sometimes imply in people my age. I can ask my doctor to look more into this Monday or I can find a doctor who will.

I googled for 3 hours last night before bed and I've been up since 7 still googling. I feel like I need an intervention. My google searches are now more reassuring but I feel like I can't transition away from this.

Feeling anxiety about my symptoms

I had a sore throat that wasn't covid, flu, or strep late July into early August. That went away, but I developed chest pain immediately when eating and sometime after. I scheduled a Drs appointment and 3 days before, I started having lower abdominal pain too. Dr. Put me on 40 mg Omeprazole. I am about 2 weeks into an 8 week trial. I think both upper and lower GI symptoms are getting better, but I am not totally sure. This is all just so new to me.

Twice now, I've had a pinching when my bladder was full, which went away after urinating. I've had one instance of thinking food was moving slowly but that was just for one meal. I had another instance of a piece of food causing pain when it went down, but it was just that one instance. The globus sensation is scary, along with the fact that I've had symptoms all along my body. There are even signs of musculoskeletal pain that might be caused by my attempts to sleep at an incline. Back pain, chest pain, spine pain, throat pain, abdominal pain, pelvic pain... my body has never done this before.

I am 25 but Google can give a bad outlook concerning some of these symptoms and telling myself that more extreme causes are unlikely doesn't seem to help.

[TOMT] Looking for a musician based on a general vibe and potential album cover

When I was a kid (2005 - 2015) I remember listening to this one artist, more often around the times I'd be dating or after a break up. I think an album of his had his face close up. He was pale with dark hair and the background may have been woodsy? Maybe purple or solid white? The only memory that is popping up for me is the name "Wolf." Maybe it was in the title of a song or part of his name. I am pretty sure he was a solo artist, maybe played guitar.

Not sure if this helps, but I'd also cry out to Jar of Hearts and Fall For You. Maybe he was in the same genre.

Sleeping on an incline but bed sucks

Sleeping at an incline helps a bunch for nighttime symptoms. Tonight, my left upper bum cheek hurts and gets better when I get up or when the incline gets less intense. It is distractingly bad. When my bed sinks in a few inches it becomes as hard as a rock. What can I do?

Working out with GERD?

I've just been diagnosed with GERD that may or may not completely resolve. I had plans to begin lifting heavy.

It is advised not to lift heavy and to keep the torso from laying flat, because holding your breath on a heavy lift and not being upright can lead to acid coming back up into the throat, which over years, can eventually lead to cancer.

If I lift lighter weights and do more reps, and cut out any flat laying exercises and replace them with others, can I still get good gains? I want to be in a deficit to go from 160 to 140 and I want to be able to look like I go to the gym when I flex, but don't feel like I need to look like it when I am at rest. I do want a nice butt though.

Signed,

:(

Omeprazole relieved mostly all symptoms on day one?

Had daily but mild (1 - 3/10) gerd symptoms for one month, so PCP prescribed omeprazole, 40mg for 2 months. Took it for the first time this morning. I haven't had any of the symptoms I had been having for the last month other than early fullness.

Is this fine? Could this be a negative thing?

Do I really need to take two months of omeprazole?

F, 25.

7/26 got throat symptoms akin to silent reflux with chest pain. Was told to take Pepcid 2x for 7 days by an ER doctor (went to ER because chest pain was scary).

I was stupid and didn't take it. Symptoms of chest pain persisted from then onto about 4 or 5 days ago, where they slowed down in intensity. Symptoms get more sporadic and seem less and less like they coincide with food.

The last 4 days, I've eaten the same GERD friendly foods and dropped caffeine intake from 16 oz to 5 oz only after eating breakfast. I've slept on an incline this whole time. Symptoms have greatly declined to where I probably wouldn't notice them if I were busy all day.

I ended up still going to a doctor today just in case. She prescribed 40g omeprazole for two months and then wean. I have been reading about the medication and am afraid to take it.

Do I need to be taking it? Can I wait a week, continue to live and eat normally, and see if GERD symptoms come back and start taking it then, or not if symptoms completely resolve?

If I do take it and I ended up not having to, what is the worst that could happen?

Is it normal to not be able to run my fingers through the ends of my hair?

Dyed my hair red years ago, dyed it back to dark brown (natural color), and I've been growing it out for a long time. I have it at a chin length bob now. I've been using the growth of my grey hair to tell me when all of my hair is natural again, and all of the damage from the bleaching and dying it red has been cut off. Today I got it cut and now the greys are from the root to the ends of my hair.

However, I still cannot run my fingers through my hair. I get to the very end, and then my fingers catch. For a while I thought this was just because my hair was damaged, but that can't be the case, right? All of the dyed parts have grown out and I've got virgin hair now. I've used heat on it, with heat protectant, maybe once every two months.

Could this just be my hair texture? What can I do to make this smoother? Or, is this just normal?

The hour after the session

Ive got tattoos wrapping around my upper arms.

1st session in June on the outer arm tats, 1st session on the inner arm tats today. The hour after the apt is brutal! Constant stinging that is distracting and takes up all of my thought. After an hour passes, it is much more tolerable.

As the settings increase each session, how will the experience after the appointment change? Will I be in pain for longer after the appointment? Will the pain be more intense afterwards?

HCI PhD Readiness

I've got a psych undergraduate degree and am finishing up an experimental psychology masters. I am taking intro to programming this semester. What else can I do to make myself a more competitive HCI PhD applicant?

Right now, I am missing the "computer part" of my education, I think.

Anyone know of any curvier ladies that wear this style? I want inspo from someone who looks like me!

I am a size 10 jeans and am 160 lbs, wide hips and small chested. I want to see what these styles look like on someone who looks like me. Does anyone know of any influencers who dress like this?

Spring scents, daytime scents, nighttime scents...

How important is it to wear certain perfumes at certain times of the day and year? I kind of want to just wear the one I like for forever.

I fit a 38AA nearly perfectly, but the cups are too close together and there is too much room on the outer sides of my breasts.

38AA... cups are perfect, band fits perfect.

The cups are too close together 🫠 I stretched out the middle part that connects the cups and that helped a bunch. I still don't like how my boobs are now sitting in the middle of my chest and are leaving room on the left and right sides. Just looks off.

Any advice?

The itch delusion

Itch so bad it's got me using the soaking method. If my friend moves my hand to scratch my tattoo, then I am not scratching it, and it is OK!

Bumps 2 weeks from 1st session?

EDIT: The bumps and itchiness is only happening on all but 2 of my treated tattoos. All black ink.

1st session was 2 weeks ago. Healing has been normal so far. Itching is getting pretty bad, but it has started along with the development of small hard bumps on the surface of some of my treated tattoos. Anyone else experience this?

The itching and bumps are the only symptoms I am experiencing. No blistering, redness, swelling, etc.
