What to do if my app has multiple primary actions?
What should I put on the home page? Claude says that there should be exactly one primary action.

>Metacognitive Therapy (MCT) is a type of psychotherapy created by Adrian Wells that focuses on how you think rather than the content of your thoughts. Instead of challenging negative ideas like in traditional CBT, MCT teaches you to stop excessive worrying, rumination, and fixed attention patterns, changing your core beliefs about your own thoughts
I feel like rumination is my biggest problem. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Do you guys have any interesting reads, case studies, etc to at talk about the onboarding flow and the home page, what works, what doesn’t etc?
i've noticed that many self-improvement apps have this screen with a finger print at the end of their onboarding flow. the holds their finger over the finger print for a few seconds pledging to commit to self-improvement or something cheesy like that.
does anyone know if this helps retention or if it has any effect?
In college, you’re essentially forced into a shared social space, and so is everyone around you. But once you graduate, those connections slowly start to fragment. People relocate for work across the country, head off to grad school, or get married and start new chapters.
If you didn't build solid, lasting relationships while you were there, making new ones out in the real world becomes exponentially harder. You just kinda stay home gradually losing touch with the outside world and forget how to communicate. Metro, job, sleep.
It just fucking snowballs, man.
I don't have a marketing budget so every user I get is through manual work (dm's, emails, etc.). And the fact that you have to download TestFlight lowers the downloads even more. And most people ghost you after they download the app and don't give feedback and don't respond to your follow up questions. I feel like I need at least 100 beta testers for it to be effective
I'm thinking maybe I should just straight up launch publicly skipping testflight? My only concern is that people will be able to leave reviews then and if I do something wrong I may damage my app's reputation.
I have pretty bad social anxiety and I’m seeing my therapist about it but she hasn’t really talked about exposure therapy yet with me. But online it’s a common recommendation. What’s your experience with it? Is there anything you don’t like about it or is there something that’s stopping you from doing it?

i was hyper pumped and ultra locked in for the past 2 weeks leading up to the launch but now that everything's been deployed i'm feeling a bit euphoric like as if i just finished a marathon but at the same time i'm feeling somewhat lost, unsure what to do now. i have a to do list of features to implement, marketing items, etc. but im having something like post nut clarity ngl
can anyone else relate?
What are some good horror games that i can finish in 1-3hrs? (at least the main plot)
i've always had social anxiety but 2 years ago after i lost my father and was basically bed bound for a few months, it got worse by orders of magnitude. then i got myself a job at a chipotle-like fast food place with lots of customer and coworker interactions and started doing exposure therapy/rejection therapy exercises. it was difficult at first but little by little my progress has compounded. some of the things that i did:
- give recommendations to customers (i used to feel afraid of disappointing customers if they didn't like my recommendations at first so i'd just recommend whatever was popular among customers)
- ask my coworkers about their lives, hobbies, etc.
- be silent on purpose when i was left 1-on-1 with a coworker (i used to be terrified of silence and felt like i needed to come up with something to talk about)
- say no to customers. as a people pleaser saying no felt like murdering someone. we had a topping limit for our bowls but i'd usually go above it because i was afraid of saying no and i'd end up with giant rice bowls that i couldn't put a lid on and my manager would always scold me for it.
i'm still not where i want to be but i'm feeling more confident than ever when it comes to being perceived, handling rejections, initiating conversations, asking for help etc.
i'm now building an app where i'm putting everything that i've learned to make self-guided exposure therapy easier. it's primarily for myself but i also want to help others who are in the same boat as me. i'm looking for people to test it out with me and help me improve it. if you wanna get on the waitlist, here's the link: https://www.bravestep.app/
feel free to ask me any questions! :)
Every time someone makes a joke, I feel like I have to laugh, otherwise, they'll think that I'm an asshole or I think that they think that I think that they're boring, and in either case, they will leave me if I don't fake a reaction. Or similarly, if someone is telling me a story and shares some crazy details, I have to act impressed.
Like today, a friend of mine shared that he once ate a raw eel, and while it's something that's probably crazy and I wouldn't want to do myself, internally, I didn't really feel impressed. But since he shared this with a lot of excitement, I felt an immense pressure to act like I was flabbergasted. I couldn't really tell him that I didn't really care or that I was unimpressed lol.
I guess one of my issues is that I don't really know how to give middle-ground responses/reactions. It's like either I act surprised/sad/I laugh (depending on what they share), or I drop the truth bomb and say that I don't care. I don't know how to handle such situations without being an asshole but without being fake either.
i worked on my own app for two days using the account that DAT provided me with. will they block me from the platform now? 😭
