Curious why are Dates (Kurma) a once a year affair?

I've recently been obssesed with eating dates & started using it as a pre-workout snack as it's a much better alternative compared to those energy bars given that dates is purely natural, provide fast-digesting carbs , natural sugars and high in fibre. It's legit like nature's "superfood".

However, the only time I start seeing others consuming dates is when "yusuf taiyoob 😂" starts appearing on the radio during ramadhan/hari raya period. But I'm so curious why this isn't more of an everyday thing here?

What sauces or spread do you use most often and is there anything about it that annoys you?

Curious what spread or sauce you guys go through the fastest, and if there's anything about it that low key annoys you.

For me it's peanut butter, I eat it almost daily but it's annoying outside of bread, like with pancakes, smoothies, or banana, it's such a pain to spread and I keep wishing I could just drizzle it instead.

Is it possible to wake up with 7.7 strain?

As the title suggests, I literally just woke up and I’m surprised to see my strain at 7.7.

This is certainly a first for me, does it make sense or is this a bug?

Wonder if anyone has dive deep into the rabbit hole for the best Hot Honey Formulations?

https://preview.redd.it/mglozqqq885h1.jpg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d2a185c6052d99ae7c9a7ab96f0b30853bf26bc5

Hey guys, I made hot honey for the first time recently (450ml australian honey, 1tbpsn of chilli flakes and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar). It tasted alright, but wasn't as good as the one I've tried in an overseas pizzeria when I had it during my vacation.

I'll love to hear some takes from those who have experimented with hot honey:
- What honey do you use? Does country/varietal actually matter?
- Chilli of choice?
- Do you add Apple Cider Vinegar or skipped it?
- What temperature do you heat up your honey till? Mine ended up being quite liquidy D:
- Any other insights would be much appreciated as well.

Cheers guys, thanks in advance for your time ^^

Questions for founders of CPG brands in SG

Hey guys, I’m exploring a CPG idea which I randomly chanced upon from overseas that I noticed it’s not really a thing yet in the region. It’s definitely a problem I can personally relate to.

Now coming from a SaaS background, I understand that the playbook for validating demand is totally different and it’s certainly not my forte.

Hence, I’m curious to hear from the founders of CPG brands here in SG, what are some effective ways you’ve done in validating demand during the pre-product stage? Was it running sampling at events/pop-ups or running ads on a landing pages with pre orders or something else entirely?

Cheers and thanks in advance for your time!

anyone here doing protein+coffee regularly? curious whether you buy or mix your own

hey my fellow Msians, I'm trying to figure out if there's a real gap in the market for protein coffee market or if the current options are fine, 3 questions if you've got a min 🙏🏻

  1. Do you buy the ready to drink ones (eg: Rokeby Double Espresso) regularly, or mostly DIY at home with protein powder + shot of your own coffee?
  2. What makes you reach for ready-to drink ones over making your own, or vice versa?
  3. Any actual pain points with the current options? (personally, I find Rokeby's one with 25.1g sugar wayyyy too much for consumption)

Not trying to pitch anything here, just genuinely curious whether there's a real reason to build something better here in MY. Thanks in advance for those responding with your thoughts :)

how much do you actually care what's in your energy gel vs just whether it works?

Just started taking in energy gels as I've increased my mileage and not only does it taste kinda bad but I started reading the labels and it containts ingredients like maltodextrin / artificial sweeteners etc which I rather not put in my body.

Hence I'm pretty curious, when you guys actually pick a gel, what decides it? Is it the taste, how it sits in your stomach or just whichever is cheapest?

And if you've ever tried the real-food ones, the date or honey based ones, did that actually make you switch for good?

what do you guys actually take to sleep better? feels like everyone here is sleep deprived

Been having trouble winding down at night lately, brain just won't switch off after a long day. Sleep hygiene stuff helps a bit (no phone, dark room etc) but not enough.

Do people here actually take anything for sleep, or is it more of a "just deal with it" thing? And if you do, where do you even buy it, Guardian/Watsons, iHerb, Shopee?

Curious what works for you guys 🤔

Anyone else's nightly stack turned into a fistful of capsules? At what point does the pill count get annoying?

My wind-down stack crept up over time. Magnesium, L-theanine, glycine, a couple others. It works, but I'm now swallowing 4-5 capsules right before bed and it's starting to feel like a chore, especially when I'm already lying down and have to get back up for water.

Curious to hear if anyone also faces the same problem. Do you wish it was in a better format to these instead of the form of tablet?

▲ 4 r/sleep

Anyone else buy supplements like magnesium for sleep and then never finish the bottle?

Slightly embarrassing but I think this is a pattern for me. I've bought magnesium glycinate for sleep a few times now but I struggle to take it consistently. Some nights I forget. Some nights I'm already in bed and can't be bothered to get up for it. And then a week goes by and I've fallen off entirely.

Is this just me being undisciplined, or is this common? For anyone who started a nightly supplement and actually stuck with it past one bottle, what made it stick? And if you fell off like me, what was the actual reason, did it stop working, did you just lose the habit, or something else?

Anyone using SVED Optical Rx inserts with their Oakleys? Looking for real feedback before I order

Hey guys, so I’m personally considering getting SVED inserts for the Stunt Devil. Before I make the purchase, I would love to hear from people who actually use their Oakleys with Sved Optical’s inserts.

A few things I’d love to know:
• Which Oakley model are you pairing it with?
• How’s the optical clarity, especially at the edges?
• Any issues with fogging, reflections, or ghosting between the insert and the shield lens?
• Comfort over long wear, does the extra weight or the nose pad swap bother you?

Open to honest pros and cons. Trying to figure out if it’s worth it vs going direct Rx through Oakley.

Thanks in advance! 🤟🏻🙏🏻

Is there no way to edit Strength Trainer post workout?

Silly me accidentally added 150 reps instead of 150kg for Sled Push and now it bumped my strength trainer strain to 20.2.

Can’t seem to edit post workout?

Runners of SG, where do you get your prescription sunglasses?

Hey all, so I’ve recently went back to running again and right now I’m wearing the Owndays glasses with clip ons but I find that they don’t really have any grip as it keeps slipping when I run.

Question that I have is where do you guys get your prescription sunglasses that are suitable for running? I know Oakley does some but they’re pretty expensive so keep to hear some alternatives. And for those who do use Oakley, how do you find them?

Cheers, thanks in advance!

Heads up I'm gonna link what I built. Not a promo, just don't want mods guessing but I'm genuinely looking for feedback on what I've built as a solo dev.

Made chaptr.lol , as I felt that most companion live too much in a chat box. One day, I came across someone saying they wish they could go on a trip but don't have the time & money to do so and as a result, decided to try to live through it with their companion purely by chat.

That made me realised, there could be more to this and so that's where I've decided to build Chaptr across 2 weeks straight. The concept is straightforward.

  • Upload a pic/selfie of yourself to be the main char in the travel story
  • Pick a city
  • Pick or create your companion
  • Go on a trip together where each day, it has multiple scenes (real images with illustration of your face and companion's in it)
  • Chat with your companions throughout the trip and you can even perform some actions with them (eg: Kiss / Hug / Cuddle with them and these actions would generate an image of you + them as well)

Here's what I need all of your opinion:
- If you tried it and liked it, is this a one-and-done thing for you, or something you'd actually come back to? Like would you do a new trip every week, or is one trip enough and then you're out?

- Would you pay for this? Not asking what price, just whether the concept is worth paying for at all. Be honest, I can take it.

Drop it in the comments or feel free to DM me, either way works for me and I genuinely appreciate it ❤️
