I’ll never be enough for my wife

My wife (31F) and I (33M) have been together for 10 years and married for 4 of these. We’ve been having a few issues recently which has lead to arguments. I try my hardest for my wife to make her happy, but it never seems enough. Doing majority house work, up every morning with the kids so she can lie in (on days off), doing all the cooking and driving etc never feels like she’s happy. We argued and I said this and she said it’s true, that no matter what standard I meet she’ll raise it or move the goalposts. I still want to do everything I can. But in my mind, I’ll never be enough for her no matter what I do and that is a lot, because I’m the type of person who will keep trying no matter what

Setzer and his dice

Hi everyone! Currently in the end game of my first every playthrough of FF6.

I’m currently at Dinosaur Forrest doing some grinding before heading the Kefka’s tower. I have Setzer with his fixed dice and I just hit 9999 damage on a T-Rex. Christ on a bike, that is hilarious and I don’t know why.

Gaming dad rules

Any fellow gamer dads have any rules when it comes to gaming as a father? Mines is I don’t play when the kids are awake or in the house. So if they are out, napping or down for the night it’s fare game. Been that way since I became a Dad 4 years ago.

What about you?

AIO that my wife stats she struggles mentally taking everything on while I recover from Surgery?

I (36M) recently had small bowel surgery, having a metre of it removed due to Crohn’s disease. Surgery went well and I came home last Monday. My wife (34F) has been holding the fort while I was in hospital, plus she would need to take on a a bit more while I recover at home. We have two kids (5 and 1). I have had three hospital stays this year due to my illness and the past twice I’ve gotten home, my wife has been extremely frustrated having to deal with the kids mostly herself. She sighs, gets visibly and audibly annoyed and states she can’t do it all.

My wife stated she would try and be better in terms of this, as when I see her getting so stressed, I want to try and take it away from her but right now, I am not in a position to do so. I’ve done what I can to the best of my ability but I’m exhausted every day.

Last night things came to ahead after I ended up staying in bed all day due to extreme fatigue. My wife got me up when she needed to go shopping so I could watch the kids, so I did without complaint. I then went back to bed once she had had lunch. She then came back up a hour or so later starting she couldn’t do it any longer and needed some time to herself. Again, I got up; went down the stairs with no argument and made everyone dinner. Later on, I could sense my wife was annoyed again, which stemmed from me staying in bed without saying or communicating this (which I have apologised for) and an argument broke out. I said that why I accept she cannot change how she deals with stress, she can’t seem to think how she shows it will not affect those around her, mainly me and wanting to help constantly. I shouted at her in front of the kids (again, apologised for that to both my wife and our oldest).

For a bit of context, back in 2024/2025 we had a rough patch with a miscarriage then my wife being very ill through the following pregnancy. I stepped up, looked after her, our son and our dog while working 10 hour shifts, coming home to run the house and make sure she was looked after, without letting her see the stress as I wanted her to rest. I felt I should get that back while I’m recovering from surgery, however my wife said she isn’t as good as me looking after people so I shouldn’t be expecting that.

Am I overreacting here? Should I not be annoyed and just accept that I’ll always be the carer and she won’t change who she is?

Starting Risankizumab

Hi everyone. I’m currently recovering from having a metre (100cm roughly) of my small bowel removed after 5 strictures were found. I avoided a bag, but my treatment is changing to Risankizumab. Was looking to see if anyone has or is currently on this treatment and what I should expect?

Thanks!

Elijah Just

Heard Elijah Just is on his way to Swansea. Celtic will no doubt but a bid in when he makes his Swansea debut.

Another target lost out on due to either sheer incompetence or just plane laziness.

Ms Rachel and Blippi.

Both my kids love Ms Rachel and Blippi. I’ve watched a few episodes with them and two things scream to mind. If I ever see Blippi with a puppy and a van, I’m turning the tv off. And Mr Arron’s hard drive is warranted a checking

To those who wonder how the board have messed up Saracchi

How you can wonder this beyond me. Our CEO is fucking useless. MON is nothing but a shield for the board and Dermot Desmond is nothing but an old cunt.

Fuck the board, fuck Micheal Nicholson and fuck The Desmonds.

The minute England play a good team, they bottle it.

England went out tonight against Argentina, arguably the first team they have played against who are at their level. Every World Cup, England steam roll smaller nations and their media acts like they’ve already won the tournament. But like 2022 and 2018, they went out against teams who are the same as them.

What makes Nigel Farage “Anti establishment” exactly?

The man has been a career politician my whole life. To me, he’s part of the establishment he claims he’s against. A rich middle aged white guy is pretty much the establishment in the UK, so what makes him the anti establishment choice that his supporters think he is?
