A student of mine was accepted into the Fox School of Business, but needs some help

Good Afternoon,

I am a teacher at John Harris HS in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I have a student (soon-to-be valedictorian, hard worker, and a great kid) get accepted into the honors program at Temple's Fox School of Business (going into accounting). The only thing is, she needs some help to make it work. After numerous scholarships, she is $16k shy of tuition, room & board and is trying her hardest to bridge that gap.

If you are financially able to, and have it in your heart to help her make her dream come true, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If not, please spread the word.

Here is more to her story: https://gofund.me/c971de4d5

Thank you! I apologize if this isn't allowed but, as her teacher, I am trying my hardest to help her reach her goals past HS.

Business Class Lounge at JFK

Hey,

So, the AI lounge at JFK is closed for renovations and AI was having business class passengers use the Hello Sky lounge in the interim. Now, the Hello Sky lounge (I just read) is closing on May 31st.

I have an Air India business class flight coming up on June 21st. Anyone have any clue what lounge I can go to to grab something before departure?

I have an Amex Platinum card, so I can get into the Centurion Lounge, but always like to have a lounge that I am guaranteed immediate access to in case if there's a line at the Centurion Lounge... since I'm not going to be coming early before a 16 hr flight to go to a lounge (but would like breakfast).

Thanks

First time visitor

Hey,

So I am an experienced solo traveler and will be spending 2 weeks in Thailand as part of a larger 7-week journey (teacher, so this is how I spend every summer... Going somewhere). I'm 38/m, not single, and rarely drink anymore... So I have zero interest in the nonstop party thing/scene.

My rough plans are to fly from Siem Reap into BKK, spend a couple days, then fly to Chiang Mai and spend a few days (how many?) and then do the first class sleeper train back to BKK, where I will then fly out of to NBO.

Is that good, or should I take away some bkk time and fly south for a few days on the islands??

Thanks

EDIT: I may try to build in 1 beach... Either Phuket or Krabi. Which would you recommend? Which would be easiest to get in and out of? Because my flight from Bangkok is set in stone. It'll probably go land in BKK, 2 days, fly south, 3 days, fly to CNX, 4 days, Night sleeper train, and spend the remaining (4?) days in BKK before leaving?

Freemasons

Hey,

Am I correct in thinking that the house on the corner of Green St and Herr St in midtown (it has been renovated in the past handful of years) Freemasonry Lodge?

If so, I've done some quick background research today on what the Freemasons are and stand for (it seems more like a morality/character fraternity that focuses on self improvement vs religion, although it requires members to believe in a supreme being regardless of the followed religion, am I right?).

Are any posters here members? How do I go about learning more?

Thanks

JFK Lounge

Hey, any update on when this Maharaja Lounge will open? I have a business class flight on Air India from JFK ina little over a month and see that the lounge is currently closed, and instead they are funneling passengers to the Hello Sky Lounge (which is unacceptable for business class passengers, it doesn't even have a bathroom or windows).

Luckily I have Centurion Lounge access, but I would love some Indian food!

Thanks!

HCMC, DAD, and HAN this summer

Hey,

So I am going to spend 7 weeks on your side of the world this summer, but only like 10-12 days in Vietnam. I will fly into SGN/HCMC and also plan on flying(?) to Da Nang and Hanoi before ultimately flying to Siem Reap (Cambodia).

I just have a question about how many days is enough in these places? How would you divide it up?

Thank you!

Long layover at DEL

Hey all, I am flying in a few weeks from NYC and have a 20 hr layover at DEL (before continuing on to SGN).

I want to check out the brand new business class lounge here, but also want to leave the airport for a few hours and see Delhi. Does anyone have any experience doing so, specifically at this airport? I figured that I could spend some hours with a driver, and then come back at night to grab some sleep and a shower in the lounge, but I'm hearing that the airport may not allow me back in more than 5 hrs before my flight, even though I'm on a layover?

Does anyone have any experience here? Thank you. I want to figure it out before I buy my Visa for it, I already found a driver too.

AI 102 significant delay?

Does anyone know why AI 102 (JFK-DEL) is significantly delayed right now? Currently at an 8 hr delay and counting.

Second, I have this flight next month. Should I be concerned about it being cancelled due to fuel shortages?

Thanks

Curious, but what's the easiest/quickest/most straightforward way for a Kenyan citizen to visit the US?

I live in the US and have a very close friend of two years in Kenya (she's a current law school student, so I have gone out there often instead). What would the process be like for her to visit here temporarily?

Thanks

Has anyone been to the Urban Point hotel in Eastleigh? Thoughts? How was the breakfast?

It is across the street from a hospital I'll be visiting someone at, so the location is great for it.

Thanks!

If you are flying JamboJet domestic from JKIA (domestic terminal 1D), do you have lounge access with an Amex Plat? I know 1D has a Plaza Premium lounge, but only international (aka not for domestic departures), but are there any others that 1D domestic can access?

I know that there is a lounge in T2, but JamboJet only seems to use 1D. I'm flying to Malindi and really want to show a friend her first airport lounge.

Thanks!

Hey all, I am traveling in business class on air India and have a 23 hr layover at DEL (departing from USA and finishing at SGN). I'll have access to the new AI lounge and the large Primé one.

I was hoping to leave the airport and already found a driver to show me around. I initially wanted to grab a shower at the lounge first, but have been told that I can't enter DEL, go to the lounge, leave the airport, and then reenter again.

Ideally now, I would like to go out (land at 13:30) and then come back around 1 am to grab a sleep at the lounge, shower, and breakfast. However, I am told that DEL will not allow you back in that early (even though it is on a layover) and that I would have to pay for a hotel for the night instead (nightmares of oversleeping my flight!).

So, how early can I reenter the airport if on a layover? Is 4 hrs the cut off? I've never had this problem at any other airport/country before, if it's true.

Thank you!

Hey all,

So I have an international flight that departs JFK around noon on Sunday, June 21. I will be arriving at Penn Station via Amtrak on June 20th.

I got a room at the HIE in Maspeth, Queens for the night (that's not changing, I used a FNC for it and it's the closest I can get to JFK with the FNC).

How do you recommend I get from Penn Station to Maspeth? Lyft?? The next morning, how do you recommend I get to JFK? Lyft again?? Can I take public transport for either of these two trips?

Also, I plan on stopping by the Centurion Lounge before the flight to grab an espresso martini and breakfast before a long flight. When would you recommend leaving the hotel? 9 am??

Any recommendations for some affordable eats near the hotel for Sunday night??

Thanks for any help!!
