Does anyone here feel that there should be an Irish equivalent to AMTA?
Wouldn't mind seeing an Am I The Eejit subreddit? I'm sure it would be gas. I can only image what people would be posting.

So I'm based in Ireland, I conser myself a eco-socialist. Even before swinging further left of liberalism I've always been passionate about civil issues. But my level of activism up to this point has been cyber activism.
I know some may argue that cyber activism has a lot of limits, but I think it has its place in terms of spreading awareness.
But I think I can play a more active role in pushing leftist politics and pushing back against capitalism, at least from a local level.
I've been asking around on an Irish leftist subreddit for groups I could join, got some good advice. Did some searching around the web, and came across a group called Rise. Rise is a branch of People Before Profit and is even run by Paul Murphy of PBP.
In their own words:
"RISE is a revolutionary Marxist organization and network of People Before Profit fighting for a society free of exploitation, oppression, and environmental degradation.
The four letters of RISE give a glimpse into the socialist politics we stand for: Revolutionary, Internationalist, Socialist, Environmentalist."
So I want to know is, what should I be mindful about before going on demonstrations or protests? I'm autistic too btw. While I come across as introverted many times, I am more than capable or articulating my ideas.
I would be interested in any advice you may have for me, before I take this step.
… they view a desire to transition to socialism or communism as unnecessary or a step to far.
So my thoughts on this is, it’s kind of like trying to patch up a broken boat with styrofoam. You can keep hiding the cracks but sooner or later they keep resurfacing. As this solution is not sustainable.
Then of course they usually love to throw in the tired old arguments that socialism has been tried and failed. Debatable. A long with you’d have none of the infrastructure we have today without capitalism. Personally I think we would, it would just maybe look a bit different and operate in a more just fashion. The worst thing a socialist society could do, is get rid of the Elon Musks of the world. And “by get rid of” I am literally talking about their disproportional accumulation of wealth and money hoarding.
How would you articulate a rebuttal to die hard capitalists?
Would love to get more involved in left wing activism. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Or possibly social based groups for adults over 40. Would love to connect more with others in the LGBTQ in Ireland. Not looking for dating groups btw, as I'm happily married, just looking to meet ore like minded LGBTQ people.

Would be interested in getting more involved in the ground. Boycotting animal products can only go so far.
David Ramms interviews Veganuary founder Matthew Glover. Matthew discusses his new project, Project Slingshot, and answers some tough questions about this bold strategy.
A new strategy that promotes wider awareness regarding the barbaric practices in animal factory farming.
So I think I may have rubbed some of my fellow vegans the wrong way with my stance on this over on another vegan subreddit. I'm on team philosophy on this one. But I'd like to hear some thoughts and takes in this subreddit community?
I usually say veganism is a philosophy, that happens to inform us of the most ethical diet (plant based diet). But it's main core focus must be animal rights., which obviously leads to ethical clothing, skincare, haircare and of course activism. We are more than vegetarianism with extra steps in my opinion.
He's absolutely correct here. America is a world power and what happens in America affects the entire world. When trade deals change, when wars break out, when poor decisions that impact the environment, we all suffer.
And the interesting thing is, the only people that tell non-Americans their politics are none of their business, is when the opinion being stated isn't inline with theirs. Have you ever seen a right wing person from outside the US be criticised by a right wing American? Of course not, if they kiss their asses they get a free pass somehow.
Now that is what I call justice. Sorry Trumpy but your racist policy has been denied. It is safe to say allowing him authority to oversee elections would be a total disaster. There is enough fascism going on in the US government right now as it is, someone had to pull the brakes on this lunatic. Well done to that judge. There is at least some justice in this crazy world.
Clearly this is now sadly a regular occurrence with ICE when it comes to corruption of power and unlawful arrests.
>"Rahman's arrest on Jan. 13 was caught on camera and thrust her into the national spotlight. Agents pulled her from her car on the way to a medical appointment in Minneapolis ...
>... officers "ignored her requests for disability accommodations and deteriorating health" until she fell unconscious on the floor of her cell ..."
The Trump administration must be held accountable for this injustice and ICE need to be investigated. Ideally it would be best if they were abolished. But an investigation would be something
So you may have noticed r/SocietyAndCulture is looking a little different. Well originally I set this space to act as a replacement for one of my favourite categories on the former Q&A website known as Yahoo Answers. So some of the design choices have a bit of a Yahoo-ish feel.
That does not mean that this sub is turning into a Q&A only sub, this is still a discussion sub. But it will now cover the full range sub-categories of Yahoo Answers Society & Culture category, in addition to some already present on the sub. This will be done through the use of post flares. All new posts will require a post flare from this point.
The new and updated post flares are now as follows:
If I've missed any, please let me know and I'll make the relevant changes.
I know its been discussed on the CMF sub. But haven't seen anyone post about this here so thought I'd share. What are your thoughts on this? Will this ram problem ever be resolved so smaller tech companies like Nothing can survive?

Thanks for being part of the very first wave. Together, let's make r/SocietyAndCulture amazing.
While this question is mostly aimed at men, as some products are specific. Some skincare can be used by men and women, so ladies I'd love to hear your input too.
I'm currently using a combination of Byoma and Bulldog. Had to change products so many times due to certain companies either not being truly vegan or being bought out by other companies making them no longer vegan.
Used to use the Ordinary and L'Occitane. Was shocked to learn that L'Occitane sells to other countries that require animal testing on skincare and cosmetics. And the Ordinary is no longer vegan as they were purchased by Estee Lauder, who also test on animals.
Or would they use it to troll the site to a new level?
The Yahoo Answers trollers were known to be the trolliest of trolls. Nothing we've quite seen on Reddit. I can't quite imagine them with AI.
