Another excellent lunch at Dobro Top

I was enjoying my lunch so much that I didn’t take v good pictures. Everything is vegan. Here is a unagi roll and egg. My friend loved the chicken sandwich with pesto and I had the caviar on buttered toast again.

Ever make a spaghetti alla pantesca?

Alla pantesca is from the island of Pantelleria where they have superb capers. The recipe is simple, fast and very forgiving: halved cherry tomato, pitted green olives, soaked and chopped capers (the salted ones), onion, garlic, dried oregano, s/p, EVOO, topped with toasted breadcrumbs. It is usually made with anchovy which I leave out, obviously.

Delicious lunch at Dobro Top

I tried Dobro Top at JLT today. Delicious lunch. Plant caviar on toast and a plant salmon sushi roll. I’ll go back for sure!

IKEA no longer serves plant balls in the UAE, it seems

The IKEA cafeteria used to be one of those places where you could eat a simple healthy lunch. Now it is full of all kinds of junky fried food, and very few veg offerings.

I have gone twice and the plant balls are not available in the cafeteria. There were a few bags in the freezer in the shop. I hope they aren’t phasing them out.
