Omnipod 5 phone battery life?

T1D for 17 years. I’ve been using OmniPod for about 11 years—OmniPod 5 since January 2023. I’ve noticed over the past week or so that the OmniPod receiver will not charge past 50% and will not hold a charge anymore. The charging port has been a bit messed up for about a year, but even when it says it’s charging there isn’t much happening. I’m wondering if this is like a cell phone and the battery is only good for so long? Luckily I have another receiver to switch to, but it’s been annoying!

best swim tops post-op?

tldr my half of family is being shitty and have told me they will actively physically avoid me/ask me to leave if I don’t cover up my (16 month post op) chest 🫩😓

not swimming is not really an option, it’s going to be 95° and this is the only chance this summer that I have to see the other half of my family

Best medical alert bracelet?

I seem to have misplaced mine and am in need of a new one! Looking for something small & discreet & not heinously expensive

I hate this :(

my endo told me I was manually correcting too much and to let the omnipod/dexcom figure it out instead… this is what happened

Mass Save Energy Assessment (renter)

Living near Boston—I’ve coordinated a time with my landlord for them to come soon. Overall the insulation and window seals are okay in my apartment, but the temperature control in my bedroom is awful (53° when the rest of my house was 65° on one of the single-digit January days, 80°+ in the summer even with the AC blasting)

Will they replace the insulation or windows if necessary? (if my landlord agrees to pay…)

Also, how long does the assessment take on average? My house is ~60 years old, so not new but not super old either. TIA!

Need help choosing a scooter!

I’m between 2 scooters on Facebook marketplace.

One is $40, technically a kids’ scooter, 7.5mph max, 155lb weight limit, fully functional & comes with charger, rarely used

One is $50, adult size scooter, 15mph max, battery is “iffy”, heavily used (I’d be the 3rd owner)

I can also just buy a new one if anyone has inexpensive recommendations but I’m trying to avoid buying on Amazon! TIA!

Did anyone smell smoke earlier? ~6pm in west Watertown

Shortly after the storm started I smelled smoke. It went away after an hour or so but I wasn’t able to find a source

I meant to post earlier but got distracted in making sure that the smell wasn’t coming from my house 😅

Hoping these aren’t ruined? Accidentally left outside in 95°F & then got rained on :(

I wore these yesterday & left them out overnight to air out. I forgot to toss them inside when I left for work & accidentally exposed my shoes to high temps, direct sun, and a ton of rain.

I dried them off with paper towels & they’re currently sitting in front of a fan with newspaper inside…

Thoughts on healing + do the wings look weird?

I had the option to get the wings done in black or gray & I panicked and let my tattoo artist choose lol

I go back and forth on liking it, overall I wish I would have spoken up after she started and asked to do black instead but I’m thinking once it heals I’ll add some color? Everyone keeps asking why it looks that way and now I feel self conscious about it 😬

I posted last week about it being super itchy and rashy, I think the healing is going well now tho!

Mid August trip to NH

I’m hoping to head to New Hampshire & the White Mountains for a couple days in August with family. Reddit, what should I do while I’m there? We’re mid level outdoorsy people who would prefer a lodge/similar accommodations over full camping. TIA :)

EDIT: I have been to New Hampshire many times before, looking for suggestions that are unique

She made me feel bad about my weight, my diabetes management skills, and my diet.

I’ve been having a really hard time managing food intake lately. Any tips on how to add protein & fiber (that isn’t eggs, yogurt, meat, or cottage cheese)? Thanks in advance :/

Fresh tattoo yesterday, current pic ~32 hours later. It’s getting a bit blurry(?) and it’s kind of itchy. I do have an adhesive allergy (caused by wearable medical devices, unfortunately). My tattoo artist recommended I keep it on for 3-5 days but let me know that I can take it off sooner if I need to.

Hi all! I am a Type 1 diabetic going to a Red Sox game (my first!) next month at Fenway. I have a clear plastic bag that is under the 12x12x6 parameters but it *is* a backpack—which is stated as not allowed. I’ll need to bring some medical supplies with me, so I’m hoping it’ll be okay?

I’m planning on calling the accessibility services number tomorrow to ask, but I thought I would also post here in case people have any advice. Thanks in advance!
