We made it through! We didn’t have it as bad as others, but Jasmine and Jasper are now super Velcro puppies. Personal space? Apparently I don’t need that anymore. 😂🐾
One thing I wanted to share—when you’re getting ready for a storm, make a safe AND comfortable place for your pets and yourself.
We used our laundry room, and let me tell you, sofa cushions make wonderful bedding! Add some blankets and you’ve got a place to settle in together.
A few things to remember:
Pick a protected interior room away from windows and get it ready early.
Bring their favorite blankets and something familiar.
Keep water, food, medications, and cleanup supplies nearby. Don’t forget the kitty litter!
Have leashes and carriers ready so you aren’t hunting for them.
Put cleaning products out of reach.
Leave room for you! You may be spending some time in there together.
If you need to evacuate, have a plan to take everyone with you.
They don’t know what’s going on, and we can’t explain it to them. But we can make sure they have somewhere comfortable with their people. ❤️

Jasmine is our Boston Terrier and Bam Bam is our part Maine Coon - they love to play together.

They love to play in the pool during the daytime, but it takes them a bit to warm up to the nighttime swim because it looks a little bit different for them, but they do have so much fun playing in the pool.

Sometimes it is so hard not to jump in and play referee with these two but letting them figure out how to play together and work together is an amazing joy, but it is sometimes scary.

We are preparing to sale our home and as we pack and take things to the storage unit Jasmine and Jasper have become major velcro dogs. They know something the happenings and it is troubling them, so I am just letting them be as close to me as possible.
