Experimenting with breakfast! #14

Guys, thank you so much for all the support you’ve shown so far! 🥹 It really motivates me to keep experimenting, and I hope you’re enjoying these breakfast creations as much as I am!
Today’s experiment: Matcha Yogurt Bowl with Cherry Jam
Recipe:
Add yogurt to a bowl (I used 0% fat Greek yogurt) and mix in a little matcha tea until smooth.
In a separate pan, combine seedless cherries with a little honey. Cook over low-medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cherries become sticky and reach a jam-like consistency.
Top the matcha yogurt with the cherry jam, chopped walnuts, and some dark chocolate.
And that’s it! Would you try this experiment? 😊

Experimenting with breakfast! #13

Today, something quick but with a hidden kick 😉
This breakfast gave me the energy boost I needed to keep going with my day. At the same time, a few Redditors have told me that this is quite a “harmful” breakfast style, and that I should stick to something more protein-heavy (like eggs). But they have also acknowledged that at least doesn’t have lots of added sugars.
Personally, I like that it only has whole ingredients, no added sugars, and I really enjoyed it. But what do you think? Is this actually a bad breakfast, or does it seem pretty reasonable to you?
Recipe: Coffee yogurt bowl with banana & granola
Mix yogurt (I used 0% fat Greek yogurt) with a shot of hot espresso.
Once the coffee yogurt is smooth and well mixed, top with chopped walnuts, diced banana, chocolate granola, and a drizzle of tahini.
Enjoy 😊

Experimenting with breakfast! #12

Guys, I need to get through this box of eggs sitting in my fridge. Same goes for the bananas and the dark chocolate. 😂
This experiment is pretty similar to #11, but with a few tweaks. And guess what? The next experiment will have banana in it too, because I still have one left that's definitely in the final stages of its fruity life.
Recipe: Egg and dark chocolate porridge with banana
In a pan, combine:
1 egg
½ cup milk of your choice
¼ cup chopped dark chocolate
⅓ cup oats
Cook over low-medium heat, stirring continuously until everything is well combined and creamy.
Serve with sliced banana, a dollop of yogurt (I used 0% Greek yogurt), and a drizzle of tahini.
Enjoy!

Experimenting with breakfast! #11

Sometimes simple is best, and today’s breakfast is exactly that.
Using just a few ingredients I had at home, I made this creamy egg porridge topped with caramelised banana.
Recipe:
In a pan, combine 1 egg, 1/2 cup of milk of your choice, and 1/3 cup rolled oats. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring continuously until creamy and well combined.
For the caramelised banana, add 1 chopped banana, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkle of cinnamon to a pan. Cook until the banana is golden and caramelised.
Serve the banana over the porridge and top with Greek yogurt (I used 0% fat Greek yogurt) and some dark chocolate.
Enjoy! 😊

Experimenting with breakfast! #10

As I hit my 10th breakfast experiment, I decided to recreate something I've been seeing all over my feed. England is baking itself through yet another heatwave, so this refreshing papaya yogurt sorbet bowl ended up being my breakfast today.

Has anyone else tried frozen fruit + yogurt as a breakfast? Any topping combinations you'd recommend for the next experiment?

Experimenting with breakfast! #9

Guys! I’ve missed posting here. Work has been keeping me busy, but I finally had time to try a new recipe this week.
I’ve mostly been sharing sweet yogurt bowls, so I thought I’d switch things up with something savoury.
Paprika & olive oil labneh
Mix Greek yogurt (I used 0% fat Greek yogurt) with a squeeze of lime and a pinch of salt. Strain it in the fridge for about 24 hours until it becomes thick and creamy.
The next day, stir in smoked paprika and a drizzle of olive oil, then spread it on toasted bread.
Enjoy 😊

Experimenting with breakfast! #8

Guys... life is a b****. 😅 I had one of those terrible days yesterday, so making breakfast this morning ended up being the highlight of my day.
I bought a yogurt strainer this week and have been looking for excuses to use it, so I made this red dragon fruit strained yogurt bowl.
Recipe:
Mash a red dragon fruit into a purée.
Mix it with Greek yogurt (I used 0% fat).
Strain overnight for a super thicc texture.
Serve with fresh dragon fruit and your favourite toppings. I added kiwi, and it was surprisingly delicious.
I'm definitely making this again.
Has anyone else been experimenting with strained yogurt? I'd love to hear your favourite flavour combinations.

Here I am again with breakfast experiment #8! 🥝
I'm in such a good mood after Spain won the World Cup yesterday, so this kiwi chia pudding felt like the perfect way to kick off the week.

Recipe: Kiwi Chia Pudding
Mix together:
• 2 tbsp chia seeds
• 2 tsp yogurt (I used 0% fat Greek yogurt)
• A drizzle of honey
• A splash of milk
• Cinnamon to taste
Leave it in the fridge for at least 20 minutes (overnight works even better).
When serving, layer the chia pudding with diced kiwi and add an extra layer of yogurt on top.
I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with different breakfasts, so I'd love to hear your ideas. What's your favorite breakfast combination?

Experimenting with Breakfast! #7

Guys, Thursday rolled around, and so did my last breakfast experiment of the week.
It's still ridiculously hot here in England, and after yesterday's game I'm not in the best mood, so I wanted to make something refreshing.
Today's experiment: fake dragon fruit chia pudding + matcha yogurt bowl.
Recipe:
Mash a dragon fruit into a smooth purée to create the "fake chia pudding."
In a separate bowl, mix 2 small teaspoons of matcha powder with a splash of water until smooth.
Add your favourite yogurt (I used 0% fat Greek yogurt) and stir until evenly green.
Top with the dragon fruit fake chia pudding and some sliced kiwi.
It turned out surprisingly refreshing, and the colours definitely helped improve my mood.
Would you ever add matcha to your yogurt?

Experimenting with Breakfast! #6

Woke up to a grey, windy morning in London, so I figured my breakfast could use a bit of colour.
Made this cherry & lime chia jam yogurt bowl, and now that I'm typing this from the office, I'm wondering if breakfast is the reason I managed to stay awake through all my meetings today. 😄
Recipe:
For the jam:
1 handful of seedless cherries
Juice of 1 lime
2 tsp chia seeds
A drizzle of honey
Cook everything over medium heat until it thickens into a jam.
Serve over Greek yogurt (I used 0% fat), then top with chocolate granola and your favourite nut butter (I went with tahini).
Enjoy! 😊

Experimenting with Breakfast! #5

Guys, it's Monday again… I needed something strong to kickstart the week, so I decided to see what would happen if I added coffee to my yogurt bowl.
Recipe:
1. Coffee chia pudding
2 tsp chia seeds
A splash of espresso
A splash of milk
2 tsp Greek yogurt (I used 0% fat)
A drizzle of honey
Mix everything together and leave it in the fridge for 20–30 minutes.
2. Build the bowl
Spoon your Greek yogurt into a bowl, then top it with the coffee chia pudding, your favorite jam (I used homemade cherry jam), and a few seedless dates.
My Monday feels a little more manageable already
Would you try coffee in a yogurt bowl? ☕🥣

Experimenting with Breakfast! #4

Guys, I was running out of yogurt this morning… The big tub I bought on Sunday only had a few scoops left, so instead of making my usual yogurt bowl, I used the last bits to come up with something different.
The result was these date yogurt pancakes, topped with the very last spoonful of yogurt and some homemade cherry jam I made last night.
Recipe:
Soak 4–5 seedless dates in hot water for a few minutes. (Optional: mash them for a smoother batter.)
Mix together 1 egg, 2 scoops of yogurt, the soaked dates, ½ teaspoon baking powder, and 2 tablespoons of flour.
Lightly grease a pan with butter and cook the pancakes for about 3 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through.
Top with yogurt (my last spoon of the week) and your favorite jam. The homemade cherry jam paired perfectly.
Enjoy with a cup of coffee/tea.
See you next week!

Experimenting with Breakfast! #4

Hey guys! Another day, another breakfast post. 😊
I finally gave this combo that's been all over my feed a try. If you're craving something sweet, this is a great one to wake up to.
Recipe:
🥣 1. Caramelised dates
Add a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon to a pan (keep an eye on it so the honey doesn't burn). Once it's hot, add pitted dates and cook until they're golden and slightly crispy.
🥣 2. Yogurt base
Mix your favourite yogurt with 1 teaspoon of tahini. I used 0% Greek yogurt.
🥣 3. Toppings
Top with the caramelised dates and a handful of nuts. I went with pecans.
It takes just a few minutes to make but feels like such a treat. Hopefully this gives someone some breakfast inspiration for tomorrow. Enjoy! 😊

Experimenting with breakfast! #3

I’m continuing my breakfast experiment series! My last post got some pretty honest feedback (lol), but that just motivated me to keep trying new ideas.
Today's breakfast was a blackberry crumble yogurt bowl, and it kept me full and energized for the morning and work at the office.
Recipe:
1.- In a pan, combine 1/3 cup oats, a drizzle of honey, a pinch of cinnamon, a small knob of butter, and a handful of blackberries. Cook until the berries soften and the oats become lightly toasted.
2.- Spoon your favorite yogurt into a bowl (I used 0% Greek yogurt).
3.- Top with the warm blackberry crumble and a handful of chopped pecans.

I'd love to hear what you'd add or change. Would you try this, or do you have another favorite yogurt topping?

Experimenting with breakfast #2

So after getting mixed reviews on my last breakfast post, I decided to keep experimenting. 😄
This time I tried frozen melon since it's in season, and with the heatwave we've been having in the UK, something cold for breakfast just feels right.
I enjoy experimenting with different textures, flavours and combinations. I think it makes breakfast a lot more interesting and is a nice way to start the day before work.
Recipe:
Freeze your melon (or any fruit you like), then grate it straight from frozen.

Mix Greek yoghurt with 1 teaspoon of tahini.

Top with the grated melon and a handful of chopped nuts (I used pecans).

Add a squeeze of lime juice (optional).

Would you try this? 😊

Experimenting with breakfast!

Hey all! So i have been experimenting with breakfast ideas for a little while. Usually I prepare something quick that doesnt take much time as I usually rush to get to work.
I like experimenting with different flavours, textures and this keeps me motivated to get out of bed.
This is what I made yesterday: Raspberry chia pudding with Matcha yoghurt bowl.

Step 1. Raspberry chia pudding
Start making your chia pudding by mashing raspberries. Mix with a drizzle of honey, 2 teaspoons of Greek yoghurt, 2 teaspoons of chia seeds, a squeeze of lime juice and a splash of milk. Let it soak for 20 mins in the fridge.
Step 2. Matcha yoghurt
For the matcha yoghurt, whisk matcha with a splash of water. Then add the Greek yoghurt and mix until well combined.
Top with raspberry chia pudding and chocolate granola.
