Should I be using enamels?

I just got in to air brushing and I've mostly been working with acrylics, but I've been looking in to it and from what I can tell enamels sound like they're just better in every way aside from the toxicity and odor

What's a good brand on enamel paints to look at?

It's not me it's the paint!!!

Ok so I'm being a little facetious, but I just sprayed through every createx metallic pearl I had with no issue, except the wicked pearl red

I didn't thin or mix any of them, just straight out of the bottle, it's not the brush, it's not something I'm doing as far as I know, it is in fact the paint

I'm going to order another bottle directly from createx and see if I can get better results

Also question, does Createx make a needle lubricant? I also wanted to try that out as well

Niche But Useful

What are some niche but useful tool recommendations for Customizing Gunpla?

I've managed to collect a decent array of tools but maybe there are some tools out there I don't have that could help me improve my Gunpla skills

Stripping

I've been soaking this in alcohol but I can't seem to get this black primer out, should I re sand or should I just go ahead and prime it for painting?

I'm at the end of my rope

I have been trying to get this paint to spray for over a week, I've run through the entire 2oz bottle, I've mixed it over 2 dozen times I've deep cleaned my air brush I got a brand new air brush, it has to be the paint at this point right?

It sprays fine otherwise, I have no problem with some Vallejo black primer right out of the bottle

But this freaking paint man, the only thing I can possibly think is that it's the humidity it has to be

Oh yeah the paint in question is the createx wicked pearl

Red

I'm not even asking for help anymore I'm just defeated

How to remove my needle

So I'm getting so conflicting information I just wanted to double check, should I be removing my needle from the front or the back ?

I've seen people say the back so you don't ruin the needle removing the nozzle first

And I've seen people say the front so you don't drag paint back through your airbrush

Both arguments seem convincing idk which one is right

Leaking nozzle

I am very sorry for the constant posting but I really don't have any other resources to lean on, maybe you guys can recommend some

But I'm noticing leaking between the nozzle and the brush

It's been leaving a small ring in the front of the brush often times it's not very much but enough to leave a full complete circle

And I just sprayed and there's was a considerable amount of leaking

That's not normal right?

Black Widow

I bought a Black Widow Air brush a few days ago and I'm wondering if this needle is damaged it's .5mm

If so where can I get a replacement

Airbrush won't stop spitting

Been trying to paint this the last couple of days, cannot get my air brush to stop spitting on my piece

I'm fairly certain that it's tip dry, when I rock the trigger back and forth I can usually clear the blockage

It's very humid right now even running the AC on full blast, I really want to get this finished but it's just not going well

I'm using Createx Wicked Pearl Red and a HF black widow

I've thinned it down to water and it doesn't help

Createx Pearl Red

I'm trying to get this paint to spray but it just will not, I've thinned it to water with 4021reducer and it won't spray I've tried 50psi I've tried 20 psi

It just will not spray

I'm using a HF black widow with .5 needle and as far as I know it is in working condition

The brush will spray water and even some Vallejo black primer black no problem this freaking paint just will not spray

I've mixed it like 5 times now and I don't think I can thin it anymore than I already have

I'll rock the trigger back and forth and it'll spurt and stop Yesterday I got it to flow but only if I pulled the trigger way back and it just dumped the stuff and I need to it flow at like a half pull

3rd Airbrush

Ok I'm officially on my third air brush, the one I bought from Amazon is unrecoverable, got a replacement under warranty for the HF black widow after damage the tip

This needle is not broken.... right?

I think I might have gotten some bad advice or followed it poorly, someone said you can hit the tip of the air brush with a paint brush or a fine bristle toothbrush to get rid of tip dry which is how I think my last need got scuffed

u/Nyrue1 — 10 days ago

Cleaning without removing the needle

So I'm on my second air brush and I'm considerably more nervous that I'm going to break it, I'm utilizing all the correct cleaning procedures but I'm trying to not resort to removing the needle

I got it pretty clean but I just could not get it completely cleannl, the front of the nozzle cap and their was still a very minute amount of paint on the needle when I removed it

I tried using a brush to clean the front but it just wasn't getting the job done

Idk any advice is appreciated

When do I need to sharpen my Chisels

I recently had to replace my .1 mm scribing blade because I broke it and I couldn't help but notice how much better it was scribing

Can you sharpen scribing blades? If so how do you do that?

I have stedi tungsten blades

Air brush stencils

This may or may not be easier than a water slide decal but I bought an airbrush damnit and I'm gonna use it

Do they make airbrush decal stencil kits for Gundams?
