taking a break from the dating scene IS allowed, ok?
if dating is consistently making you feel miserable, frustrated, or is destroying your self esteem, you do not have to force yourself through it and taking a break doesn't mean you've given up on finding your person sometimes we just simply need to step away, that is it. just enjoy your life without the constant thinking and feeling of rejection, incompatibilities and the apps also unfortunately i don't think this is something emphasized enough on here, loneliness isn't a good enough reason to enter a relationship. i can completely understand wanting to have someone to talk to, share your interests with and just do fun stuff together but please, date because you want to meet someone and not because you need someone to fill a void sooo wanting a relationship is good, needing one to feel okay is not so good and it's where things can get unhealthy
don't be a complete shut in with when it comes to dating either, keep an open mind but don't make dating your only focus where it's getting to the point it's consuming your life
and if you do meet someone, yay! just remember a healthy relationship can be interdependent where you can share your life with someone but still have a life that exists outside the relationship :)
ok bye! 👋
especially if you've never been married yourself? this isn't a post to shame anyone but i'm curious how other people would approach it, would you want to know the circumstances or would the number itself make you uncomfortable or any other reasons?
i ask because i was seeing someone who i initially understood who was married once but later found out he had actually been married twice and while he didn't exactly lie about it because he eventually told me but i realized that i personally wasn't comfortable with the idea so again i'm just curious...do you view it as a red flag, something you want to understand more about or is it just not particularly important to you?
i'm looking for thoughtful discussion rather than debates...maybe?
a dishonorable discharge isn't something that is given lightly in fact i think most people would see this as an equivalent to a felony conviction so i'm curious upon learning that someone who had one would be an automatic deal breaker for you? or if you would want to know the circumstances first? I'm asking partly because of a personal experience where i was briefly involved with someone but things have already ended before i later found out they had that on their record and learning about that after made me reflect on the situation and what i'm comfortable with ( which finding out after affected me more than i expected) and i realized it's not something i would be willing to pursue in the future
so I'm interested in hearing how others would approach or view this situation
EDIT: i won’t disclose the exact offense of what i found out but it was definitely serious which is why i said i wouldn’t put myself through this situation again
i’m not saying i would but i always wanted a street sign with my name on it when i was younger
do you ever forget to lock your doors before going to bed and discovering the next morning to find out you never did and think how tf did you survive the night? 😭😬😂
PSA: lock your doors at night, people!
mostly because i know it’s based on experience and qualifications but how do you actually make the case for being paid more? i guess not so much for generic advice i’m looking but how you would approach it somehow i always feel weird bringing it up 😬
i don’t often drink it but when i do, i know to eat something beforehand but even so it’s makes me jittery my hands start shaking
if you don’t smoke (or drink), would you ask someone you’re interested in to quit those habits for the sake of being in a relationship with you? or would you decide that you’re just simply incompatible instead?
i don’t know what started it or why i do it but i noticed it’s something i do when i reach for my phone in the morning 🤷🏻♀️
sooo does anyone else?
it’s too crowded and i don’t have the patience for it (plus the humidity!) so instead i’ll comfort my dog and watch “ i am legend” and if i’m lucky i’ll go see if there’s any fireworks nearby and i can watch that for a bit
and do you trust them enough to tell? if so, what’s that like?
i did this the other day as we were both walking into the store but i noticed them first before we made eye contact and i did a shielding gesture also i don’t always do this as it depends on the person but most of the times i don’t want to engage AT ALL
i'm looking to meet genuine people around this area for platonic friendship and just hoping to connect with people who are roughly around in their early to late 30s
few things i enjoy are photography, books (mostly nonfictional), always looking to explore new coffee shops (tea is my preference) and places to eat, i do enjoy walks but it would be a little better to have that to share with, even having icebreakers that goes a little beyond surface level questions, checking out museums and local events and if you happen to speak italian or french, that's a plus as i'm looking to brush up on that! so if that someone is you who is kind, open minded and interested please feel free to comment or send a message, okbye!
