Extreme pet hair

Help!

I've had a Sebo D4 for 4 years. It's been great! When I got it, we had two dogs, and it had no problem defeating their furry mess. Since then, one dog died, and we got another new one.... The new dog's hair is invincible.

Two main problems: the new dog's hair sticks to carpet/area rugs. Brand new brush roll didn't make a difference. The second problem is that his hair is so stiff, it doesn't get compressed into the bags like my old dog's hair. I get clogs at the entrance to the bag, and have to stick my fingers in to move the hair around. Then it's good for a little while. I usually have to do this several times per bag, until it's actually full. And it's still not compressed into a firm pillow, like with my old dogs.

What are my options? Bagless is absolutely out. I had a Dyson and then a Shark Apex and hatdd emptying the bins. I had to empty the Shark 5-6 times just for the main floor. Ridiculous.

I already vacuum every other day. Upping the frequency won't help with clogs or hair getting stuck to the carpet. I've tried. Zero difference.

Anyone else with extra large, double/triple coated dogs? Help!

Norco Sasquatch to.... Marin Kentfield?

I used to do a ton of singletrack stuff in the late 90s and early 00s. Now, I'm a dad with a daughter who just learned to ride without training wheels. I bought my Norco when I was 12 or 13, and I think I'm maybe an inch taller than when I got it. It just feels cramped.

I went to my local shop and tried a few bikes. My wife actually bought a Stinson. The Kentfield felt nice, not as upright as the Stinson, but not as aggressive as my Norco.

Are there any other options from Marin/Trek/Jamis that I should look at? Just looking for something to do city/trail riding and keep up with my daughter.

"Tall" sized shirts?

Do you guys know of any shirts that are long enough to still cover everything when you're working with your hands overhead/bending over?

Trying to maintain some sort of human decency and not frighten people to death while I work.

Canvas painting repair?

Is there anyone in the area that can repair canvas paintings?

The canvas has 1 rip and 1 puncutre... My wife got the painting in Cuba, so it's sentimental in value.

Old vs new Vileda/Ocedar Spin mop

I always hated how short the mop was...

Well, my spin bucket broke, so I went to buy a new one. The new mop is even shorter.

In the picture, these two mops are hanging from the same hook and are both fully extended.

Battery powered sprayers

Are any of these any good?

I've got a job coming up without access to power, and I just need to spray a bunch of stencling every 30 feet along a waterfront.... I either need a generator and my airless, or a headache-free cordless option. Headache free is a must.

Steelcase Concentrx

So, I was at my parents' house for a visit, and I remembered they have a couple of nice, used office chairs. I flipped them over and they're both Steelcase Concentrx chairs from 1984 and 1985.

Still rock solid and fully functional except for the fabric, which has definitely seen better days. These two chairs have been in my family for 20 years lol. They're older than me!

Made in Canada

I'm looking for a few options that are made in Canada. I've found OfficesToGo, and Global. Both have a few options made here.

Are there any other companies or chairs that I should be looking at?

What finish is on here?

This is a 3 season sunroom and the finish on the wood is clearly not safe from water. What could it be? It comes off if you let water pool on it, but mopping lightly hasn't made things worse.

I'm wondering if it's possible to apply the same finish again, but then top coat it.

The hard way would be to refinish the entire floor.

Update the specs occasionally

I own a painting company in southern Ontario.

In the past, there was something called the Ontario Painting Contractor Association (OPCA) and they had a manual of standard practices etc. So whenever I get a new job to bid on, it says follow OPCA standards, and use OPCA methods for surface prep, and use OPCA approved materials.

That's great, but the opca doesn't exist anymore. It hasn't for well over a decade, almost TWO decades. Do you know how to find a copy of the most recent OPCA manual? Because I went on a detective hunt and I found a copy from 2006. Most of it is outdated and unusable, by today's SSPC or MPI standards.

I got ahold of the head of the former OPCA. They shut down in 2010 and adopted the Master Painter's Institute manual at that time.

So, about 90 percent of the bigger architectural firms in and around Toronto have paint specs that are 16 years (or more) out of date. Copy and paste and copy and paste. If this is happening to the paint section, what other sections are also out of date?

Recycled plastic patio furniture

Does anyone have experience with the recycled plastic outdoor furniture? It's supposed to last a long time, but I can't get over the price.

HomeHardware has a round dining table and 4 chairs on sale for $2800 Canadian.

I bought a solid maple dining room set with 6 chairs, two table leaves, Mennonite made, and it was $2000 on sale.

Is the plastic stuff really worth it?

I didn't change tire size at all.

Stock tires were Pirelle Scorpion Verde, 285/45R22.

New tires are Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail 285/45R22.

I also have a set of snow tires, same total diameter on 18 inch steel rims. No rubbing from those.

They only rub at full lock. Should I be concerned?

I'm in Android, and I can't seem to change the ringtone for the full screen notification when someone rings the doorbell and the "call" pops up on my phone.

I've clicked "Follow system" and changed the ringtone in the settings, but it goes back to the annoying default sound whenever I press the doorbell button.

It's a 224+.

I have two drives, separate storage pool, one volume on each. I run scheduled backups with HyperBackup from one to the other, and another backup in the cloud (write only, no old files deleted). I also backup to a USB stick once a month.

Main concern is data protection. If one drive dies, I want a copy to survive. If one drive gets corrupted, accidentally deleted, etc, I want the remaining drive to still have everything.

Is there a better way?

Edit: here's more info. A 6tb and a 12tb drive. My important files only take up about 100gb of space (work files, photos). The rest of it is used for surveillance and Linux iso's, not important enough to cry over if lost.
